Dr. Braunt is going to kill Michelle Jones.

Peter stared at the piece of paper, a sickening feeling bubbling up in his stomach.  He tore his eyes from the paper, staring in horror back at Ned.  The boy who he once knew as his best friend, was dead.  His mouth was stuffed to the brim with soil.  The dirt spilled from his mouth, crusted to his chin and cheeks. His eyes were glued open, staring directly into the glass ceiling where the sun had baked them red.

It was hard to tell where his blood spilled from, as it was smeared all across his skin.  He still wore the clothes he had on yesterday, which included his MIT jacket he had bought in excitement to try and apply to the college. It was both Ned and Peter's dream school, and now that dream was left only to Peter.

He still couldn't register what had just happened, and what was before him.  The students were all panicking, most frozen in shock and the rest had run off somewhere.  Peter's body began to shake uncontrollably as he took a step forward.

"N-Ned?" Peter's voice cracked. He nearly collapsed as he knelt beside his friend. "Ned?"

It was very obvious that Ned was well beyond death at this point. Whenever he had been slain, it wasn't recent. His body was stiff and cold, and his eyes bloodshot from staring up at the glass reflecting the sun all day. He must have been laying all morning, perhaps even from the night.

Tears began to roll down Peter's cheeks. "Ned?" He repeated softly. He could hear the whimpering sounds of students starting to cry. Most of them didn't even know who Ned was, it was the sight of a corpse that scared the tears to fall.  "Ned?!"

Peter gently brought a hand to Ned's cheek. His body continued to tremble, and breathing suddenly became difficult. He shuddered, letting a few tears fall. He moved his hand to Ned's chest and rested it on the center.

"I'm sorry." Peter uttered, more tears falling without control. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." His breath hitched.

No one around him said a word, all too shocked to comprehend what was going on. Peter was no longer aware of his surroundings, his attention was focused only on Ned and nothing else.

"I should have done something. I'm sorry." He started to sob. "I knew... I knew..." he leaned forward, placing his head on Ned's chest. "Ned, please forgive me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Peter wanted to be alone. Or at most, he wanted at least one more moment with Ned. Deep in his heart, he knew Ned had believed him all along. Peter wasn't being superstitious when he said something was wrong, and Ned knew that. Ned trusted him.

Wish me luck!

"Why..." Peter sobbed. His throat ached in pain from crying. "Why you... you knew. You... I'm so sorry Ned." Peter could only repeat his words. Everything about what was going on hurt. He sat there in silence, and no one dared disturb him.

Until the students who had fled came running back did he consider there was a threat still lingering.

"The doors are locked!" A girl from Peter's class said. Her name was Cleo Newberry, a typically silent girl for she hated the sound of her voice. But right now, she spoke because she was afraid. They all were.

"Oh my god what's happening?!" One of the girls, Emma, exclaimed.

"Someone's a traitor!" Another said and soon everyone was yelling. But Peter remained silent.

"Before you Nancy Drew the scene here..." a voice said over a loud speaker. Everyone shut up, frozen in place. That voice belonged to Dr. Braunt. "May I suggest you return to your rooms? I'm sure you all need a break from the hard work in the botany gardens!"

"That sick bastard!" A boy named Jason shouted with anger.

"Maybe we can escape if we return to the rooms." MJ stated.

"Or it's a trap." A boy said.

"It's not." Said Peter. "It's... it's not a trap."

When the students found a door that wasn't locked, they sprinted as fast as they could to their main rooms. They put two bulkier dudes, Jason and Greydon, at the door in case someone tried to break in or perhaps lock them all inside.  Meanwhile the rest of the kids tried finding something to assist in getting them the hell out of there.

No one had expected the answer to be laying on their mattresses as clear as day for them.

Every students phone was laying on each mattress. What was startling was that all of them had been placed on the correct mattress that each student had slept on the night before. That could only have meant that the people working here, or Dr.  Braunt himself, had watched them as they slept.

Which meant they knew Peter had stayed awake, and likely heard Iisan and Terrance's conversations.

He hoped that didn't make the three of them the next target.

Peter grabbed his phone and quickly turned it on. To his surprise, it had a 100% charge on it.  The first thing he did was try and call the police, as did several other students. But none of their calls went through. Somehow, the action was disabled for each and every one of them.

Peter tried calling other numbers, which came to no avail. Neither did texting. He did, however, find that the only messages he could send was to the Instagram group that Emma Winters had created for this event. How convenient.

"So what now?" A kid named Corvan asked.

"I don't know." Emma replied. "I'm scared."

"No shit." Iisan rolled his eyes.

"Oh shut up! A boy just died and you're seriously acting like this?!" Emma scolded.

"Yeah, we just found a dead body but the first thing you did on your phone was check your hair in the camera." Iisan retorted.

"I know what to do." Terrance interjected. All eyes were on him, no one speaking at all. "Someone needs to go back to the gardens and take a picture of the body. Send it to the chat so that all of us have access to it."

"Why the hell do you want us to do that? It's not like you can see it anyways." The Peter that wasn't Peter Parker or the author said, because there are two Peter's in this fan fiction and the author who shares the name with them.

"Because, if we're gonna try and escape, we need to report this to the police. All of us need the evidence on hand."

"Dr. Braunt meddled with our phones and gave them back to us like this. Obviously he wants us to Nancy Drew this shit. Or something- I don't know! Why did he give the phones back?!" The air headed Lauren shouted.

"Because he left us a video."  Iisan answered.

"What?" Everyone replied.

"Check your camera roll."

The author is tired. And drugged up with NyQuil.

They sent Jason to go get the photos of Ned, because he had no personal connections with him and and happened to be a really fast runner. When he came back, they all regrouped in the center of the room.

"Maybe this is a misunderstanding? It could have been an accident." A girl named Levy said. She had the same aura as Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter.

"Yeah, cause I'm sure that that kid would have just gone out and ate dirt in the botany gardens after Dr. Braunt was done showing him some petting zoo." The goth girl, Stella, said sourly.

"Ok you're right. I'm just... trying to make sense of it." Levy sighed.

"Let's just assume Dr. Braunt killed him," Corvan said, "why did he leave the body in an obvious spot?"

"Cause he wanted it to be found." Cleo said. "Why else gives us back our phones and hand a video of what's probably the crime scene over to us?"

"Has any actually watched the video?" Stella asked.

"... No." was the answer. No one wanted to watch it. They knew what they would find.

"But it might help us if we did." Terrance said.

"You don't even get to watch it, so of course you'd say that." Someone scoffed.

"So someone needs to be brave and watch it." Terrance argued. "Dr. Braunt may have left us clues. This has to be a game to him."

"How is this a game?!"

They all started arguing. In silence, Peter pulled out the note Iisan had gave him and read it again.

Dr. Braunt is going to kill Michelle Jones.

He had to talk to Iisan. He had to figure out what information the boy had, and how he'd gotten it.

And if not for Ned, then for at least her sake.

A/N
I love that the comments really goin nutty over Terrance and Iisan when y'all have barely just met them. You ship em already? Obviously they're made for each other.
