I have confirmed there are at least ten mutants within the Midtown HS group. One of them can manipulate objects, to which I speculate to be Iisan Takanashi as seen in the recording.
Note: Keep an eye on the boy named Peter Parker.

"Alright everyone! I have a plan!" Jason announced.

"AHEM!" Lauren aggressively hit his elbow.

"God Lauren- sorry- I meant, WE have a plan!"

The students spent the day constructing a fucking fuck I can't write for shit.

For the entirety of the day, after they'd regrouped and shared intel, the students had been constructing a large fort out of the mattresses. It had walls with peep holes in it, big enough to stick a gun point through (which now, of course because of Greydon's obsession with stealing guns, they had two).

They also emptied their supply on the floor and sorted through it. Some kids had pocket knives, but there were other useful items such as lighters (because some of them brought cigarettes), pepper spray, and a knife. They took their weapons and hid them in the wall of mattresses by tearing a hole in the fabric to stash them inside.

"Are you changing the ambush plan already?" Cleo asked.

"Not exactly. But say tonight we raid the storage-"

"We're not leaving the room." Iisan said coldly. "There is a thing out there and we can't trust that it'll be safe anymore. We've already gone out there twice, it'll be suspicious if it happens again. Who knows if Braunt's been aware all this this whole time."

"You're right. And the staff likely reported it anyways." Bradley said.

"So we're still sitting around in here till Braunt comes to take one of us?" Cat asked.

"Yes. And when he comes, you beat the living shit out of him." Iisan grinned, revealing his sharply inhuman teeth.

"I love beating shit out of people." Cat cracked her knuckles. Peter knew she was probably being honest, and he'd hate to be the one receiving a punch from her. She was beefy, and strong physically. Her arms were bigger than Peter's—she could probably crack skulls between her hands if she wanted to.

"Don't hold back either." Iisan said. "Once he's out of the way, we're splitting up. Half of us will find a way to get out of here and open the front gates, which have likely been locked, and the other half will go find those other kids and get them out of here."

"It's a flaky plan, but it'll do." Greydon remarked.

"Well it's all we've got. And it'll work. It better, at least." Iisan said confidently.

"So now we just wait?" Asked Cleo.

"He'll be here any second to take one of us." Terrance said.

"Right. So be ready." Jason said. "Does everyone have something to fight with? If you don't, stay in the fort and don't let Braunt see you. If the attackers... uh... fail... who's he to know you're hiding?"

"Any person with a brain will know there's people in the fort, Faith." Iisan grumbled. "But staying behind in the fort is a safe option, it'll keep people who can't fight out of the way. Are we ready?"

"I think so." Lauren mumbled. "All I've got is a piece of cement rock though." She held up the rock in her hands.

"He's here." Terrance said.

"Get in the fort Terry." Iisan said.

"Hell no dude," Terry grinned, "I'm gonna beat this mother fucker to Hell and back and you can't stop me."

"If you get hurt-"

"Will I though?" Terrance smirked. A portion of kids got into the fort and the door of the room opened. Sure enough, in walked Dr. Braunt.

"Redecorating, I see?" Dr. Braunt said, looking at the fort with amusement.

"First, who do you plan to kill tonight?" Jason growled.

"Why would I kill anyone? You're all so anxious. All I need is another helper tonight." Dr. Braunt said.

"Likely story." Greydon snarled.

"Oh but it's true!" Braunt exclaimed. "And whoever comes with me gets to visit the stables!"

"Stables?" Lauren questioned.

"The horses!" Braunt chuckled. "I have quite a few." Peter got horrible images of being trampled to death by hooves flocking into his mind.

"Now?" Corvan's voice cracked.

"Yeah, fuck you and your horses! Now!" Jason shouted and the students charged for Braunt. The man did not move or even flinch, he just watched them with a bemused look on his face as they barreled towards him.

"Tsk, again? Did I not get a clear enough message across last time one of you tried this?" Braunt chuckled. He swiftly pulled out a gun and pulled the trigger. Immediately, someone let out a scream.

"CLEO!" Greydon shouted with pain in his voice as his sister fell to the floor.

"You know, even though you've accused me of murder so many times before," Braunt smirked, "this is the first time I've ever killed anyone with my own hands for you to see. I hope that puts my point across."

Greydon was at his sister's side as she was rolling around the floor, clutching her gut and whimpering in pain. Peter never thought he'd see Greydon break. The guy was so tough and stern, and seemed to find humor in violence. Yet he had tears in his eyes, trying to make his sister lay still so he could stop the bleeding which blossomed over to the right of her pelvis.

"Cleo? Cleo look at me!" Greydon cupped his sister's face. "Cleo, you're alright. You're alright-"

"I-It hurts." Cleo choked out. "So-so bad." She but her lip, "NNNAAAGGHHH!!!"

"You devil!" Jason roared at Braunt. He had Greydon's second gun, which he pointed directly at Braunt.

"Oh, she's still alive?" Braunt cocked his head in Cleo's direction. "My aim must have been off." He said and pointed his gun back at her, pulling the trigger once again. A bullet landed itself straight in her chest. Her body convulsed and she let out a sharp cry before quickly falling still.

"Cleo?!" Greydon yelped. "Cleo?!! CLEO!!" He started to cry over her. Her eyes stared lifelessly to the sky.

"Cleo!" Corvan exclaimed, rushing to her and Greydon's side. "Cleo-"

"Now I ask again, who would like to be my assistant for tonight?" Braunt asked.

"Why?!" Jason shouted. "WHY?! Why should we go?! You've taken Cleo! Isn't that enough?!"

"Enough for what? I still need help with my horses." Braunt stated.

"No!" Greydon shouted and fired his gun at Braunt. He missed, hitting the doorframe instead. "No, god damn it!" He shot again, still missing Braunt.

"Using up your bullets pretty fast, huh?" Braunt smiled cruelly. "You'd be better off if you practice your shot a little more there, boy."

"Shut up!" Greydon shot again. "Shut the FUCK UP!" He pulled the trigger but nothing happened. He tried again, but still, nothing was fired. He was out of ammo.

"That's a shame." Braunt sighed. Jason still had his gun pointed at him. "And you still can't find the courage to shoot me, huh?" He said to Jason. "I guess I'll pick who's coming with me, since no one will volunteer." He looked to the mattress fort and approached it.

"No!" Lauren shouted and stepped in between him in the fort. "You're not taking any of us! You already took- you already took Cleo!"

"And I do believe that Peter McFay works with horses back home. Surely, he's fit to help out, correct?"

"You're not taking Peter!" Lauren threw her hands out to the side. "Or anyone!"

"Do we need to repeat what just happened? I thought I picked out honors students to come here, why must you all act so stupid?" He said, pointing the gun at Lauren's forehead. Lauren stiffened. "That's what I thought. Step aside, Ms. Grace."

"N-no!" Lauren stood her ground. "I- I'm not letting you kill anymore innocent kids! We did nothing to deserve the hell you're putting us through! And we WILL escape!"

Braunt pulled the trigger of his gun and Lauren let out a shriek, squinting her eyes to brace the impact of the bullet shattering her skull.

But it never hit her. She remained standing, eyes shut and hands still in the air. She was still standing her ground, and the bullet hadn't touched her.

In fact, as she opened her eyes, Peter saw the bullet hovering just centimeters in front of her forehead. Had it gotten any closer, it would have blown straight through the area between her eyebrows.

Lauren let out a shaky breath she'd been holding in, her hands and fingers now trembling. The bullet dropped the floor with a little clinking sound, rolling to her feet. Peter looked past her and made eye contact with Iisan, and suddenly everything made sense. Iisan caught the bullet.

Iisan saved Lauren's life.

"Don't... you... DARE... shoot my FRIEND!" Iisan bellowed. Braunt looked just as stunned as everyone else in the room. And for once, he actually seemed to be afraid. Afraid of Iisan, and what he could do.

"You..." Dr. Braunt slowly lowered his gun. "You're Iisan Takanashi."

"Stop talking you fucking bastard!" Iisan thrust his arm up and Dr. Braunt suddenly went flying backwards, his body hitting the opposite wall hard. Iisan stepped forward, a menacing look on his face. "Now I didn't know Leeds at all, I never met Write, or Smith, and I only vaguely knew Knot. But I did know the girl you just killed." Iisan lowered his hand, walking slowly in the direction of where he'd thrown Braunt.  "Cleo Newberry... was one of the most nicest people I've ever met, and she's had a hell of a life having to grow up in the wrong body. I remember a time where I tried to ignore her as she sat in the rain after being fucking harassed at a party, and I know I would have never forgiven myself if I'd turned my back on her, because I would have never actually gotten to know her. She may be the younger sister of that douchebag over there with a gun, but that bastard cared about her more than any of us."

Dr. Braunt had crumbled to the ground, breathing hard and rubbing his head. Everyone was silent as Iisan delivered his soliloquy, and everyone watched with timid interest.

"Even if I didn't personally know Leeds or the other kids you've slaughtered here these past few days, I'm sure there's others here in this room who did." He glanced briefly over at Peter. "But most of us new Newberry. You're not going to get away with what sins you've committed here this time, cause we're going to fight for our lives."

"I'll say, I read the report update this morning... Dr. Crane must have forgotten to mention you could stop a bullet mid shot." Dr. Braunt said through shallow breaths. "But I'll be damned if I let that interfere with my project here."

He stood up, as Iisan was now standing a mere meter away. Iisan had a look of pure hatred plastered across his face.

"Dr. Crane doesn't see the things I do, you see." Braunt hummed. "He just looks for what I told him to find for me. He doesn't bother with the extra details. But I have. I know more than you would believe I know, and it's all from my observations."

He twirled his gun around his index finger. Iisan stood there, stiffly. He knew that his mere presence felt like a threat to Braunt.

"So, I guess rather than repeat myself, I can alter my request to perhaps give you all some perspective here." He said, still twirling the gun around. "I'd like to have McFay help me with my horses, but since you seem so insistent on saving his life, I'll put an offer out for you on the table."

"What is your offer?"  Iisan asked with speculation. Dr. Braunt stopped spinning his gun and pointed it to someone across the room. Peter felt his heart drop.

"You can let me take either Peter McFay, or Terrance Oakley. The choice is yours."
