Xmas chap 12
Christmas Eve. Lights are flashing, sleigh bells are ringing, and it's the best time of the year. Thor is letting it snow, Wanda is rocking around the Christmas tree, and Steve is struggling beneath the tree.
You may ask why Steve is wrapped in colourful wrapping paper and curled ribbon, laying beneath the tree.
Well, it all started earlier that day, when Bucky was skipping around the communal floor, singing a song. Everyone had been trying to figure out what he wanted for Christmas, for everytime they asked he said he didn't need anything. Natasha and Clint had almost dragged his unconscious body into the interrogation room to threaten him into telling them when Steve caught them and lectured them about what christmas was all about.
'-it's all about family and love and not killing people-,' Steve had been saying, unaware that Natasha and Clint had already zoned him out, knives still hidden behind their backs so that Steve wouldn't know their whole plan.
Lucky for them, Bucky's ideal Christmas present was told to them in song form, right on time.
"-because all I want for Christmas is youuuuuuuuu!" Bucky sang, skipping around the floor and looking at Steve, who smiled. Peter, who had been sipping tea, spat it back into the cup and discretely pulled out his phone, texting Natasha.

Later on in the day, after Peter had made sure his other presents were wrapped, and they had all watched a Christmas movie and ate some of the biscuits they weren't going to be leaving out for Santa (he surely didn't need that many) and sipped hot chocolate, Peter and Natasha made eye contact from across the room.
It was time.
Natasha pressed a button on the watch on her wrist, disguising it by adjusting her blanket, and it seemed to send Tony a message, because he stood up.
"Hey Barnes, I have something in my lab I wanted to show you. Come with me?"
Bucky shrugged, standing up as well. "Okay."
Everyone watched until Bucky left the room, except for Steve, who was mildly confused as he sipped his hot chocolate.
He glanced up from his cup to find everyone standing up and looking at him like a cat looking at their prey.
"Guys?" He asked as they all started closing in. "Guys, What are you doing? Guys?!" He realised too late that Natasha was missing.
"Ho ho homocide," she said from behind him, right before something hit the back of his head, and everything went black.
Peter hummed as he tied the rope around Steve, tying the end securely. Steve, asleep on the ground, looked like some sort of caterpillar or coccoon, almost every inch of him wrapped tightly in rope, an ice pack underneath his head like a cold pillow, because Peter felt bad about knocking him unconscious.
Natasha was looking for ribbon in Bucky's favourite colour, and Clint and Sam were fighting over which colour wrapping paper to use.
Wanda had used her powers to give him good dreams, and Vision had stuffed a few of his cookies into Steve's mouth to stop him making too much noise when he woke up. Peter, and everyone else, (though nobody was going to say it aloud) knew that Steve would avoid eating the biscuits to talk seeing as they were so disgusting, so it was a fool proof plan.
They carefully wrapped Steve in the red and silver wrapping paper (Clint had won the argument the moment he pulled out a knife) and were careful not to tear anything. Natasha taped it together, and they put a baseball helmet on Steve's head to both hide his face and allow him to breath.
They all stood back to look at their work, smiling at the messy wrapping paper and soft breathing that was emitting from the helmet.
Tony arrived back with Bucky, just as they had carefully dragged Steve to the behind part of the tree, hidden behind some of the large boxes.
"You need some sleep kiddo, it's christmas tomorrow and Santa won't come until you're asleep." Tony told Peter, clapping a hand onto his shoulder.
Yawning, Peter nodded.
"Night everyone."
Everyone bid him goodnight and Peter went to his room, changed into his pyjamas, then slipped into bed.
Bucky, meanwhile, was looking for Steve.
"Has anyone seen Stevie?" He asked, frowning. Sam took a long sip of his drink, and Wanda avoided eye contact. They all murmured no's, and Bucky eventually gave up, going to bed.
By ten o clock everyone else had also gone to bed, though not all of them were actually sleeping- Bucky was wondering where Steve was, and several of them were either on the internet or reading.
Steve had woken up by this point and was trying to escape, trying not to panic.

Peter was up first the next morning, banging two pans together and yelling-
"I didn't get no sleep cos of ya'll, ya'll gonna get no sleep cos of me!"
"Peter are you f*cking serious?!" Wanda shrieked from her room, sitting up and throwing her pillow at the door. Peter sniggered when he heard the thump.
Clint stumbled out of his room tiredly, blanket in hand, and wrapped Peter in it.
"Uncle Clint!" Peter yelled, giggling as Clint wrapped the blanket around him, picked him up, and threw him over his shoulder, walking back to his room.
"Back to bed." Clint grunted, laying down on his bed beside him and holding Peter down with one of his arms.
"Noooo! It's christmasssss! I wanna open my presents!" Peter whined, struggling beneath him.
"No." Clint told him, snuggling closer to him and wrapping both arms around Peter instead. Realising Clint wasn't going to let go anytime soon, Peter's fingers made their way under his armpits.
Clint immediately shot up, moving away from Peter so fast he fell off the bed.
"...no." He said, trying to shuffle away as Peter peered over the side of the bed with a wide grin.
Peter stepped off the bed and into the hallway.
"WAKE UP EVERYONE IT'S CHRISTMAS!" He yelled.
"Eff off." Natasha groaned.
Peter walked into her room and almost jumped onto her bed, only for a foot to come out of knowhere and hit him in the stomach.
"Ooooh, okay okay I'll go wake everyone else up..." Peter groaned, stumbling out and massaging his ribs.
When he emerged from Natasha's room, he found Thor and Vision already awake, smiling and stretching tiredly.
"Oh, we should all jump on dad's bed to wake him up!"
In about five seconds, all the others came out of their rooms, and they headed into Tony's room to wake him up.
Tony and Pepper were sleeping peacefully in their bed, having not heard any of the commotion due to having their room a little away from everyone else's.
Peter pressed a finger to his lips and shushed everyone, then climbed onto the ceiling, ready to jump. Everyone else got into their positions, waiting for Peter to mouth three.
One, two- three! Peter mouthed, letting go of the ceiling.
Everyone jumped on at once, yelling-
"Wake up it's Christmas!"
Or
"Merry crisis!" (Definitely not Peter, what are you talking about?)
Or
"Merry Christmas!" All at once.
Tony sat up after letting out a small shriek, and Pepper was the one to give the biggest scream, stopping and panting as she looked at them all.
"Is the bed broken?" Tony asked through the awkward silence.
"The bed is broken." Sam confirmed.

Everyone sat on the couches, Bucky still wondering aloud where Steve was and if they should be worried.
Everyone assured him he was fine, and convinced him to open his present first.
Peter pulled Steve out from behind the tree and in front of Bucky, everyone grinning as Bucky stared at it.
"You did not." He said. "Oh my f*cking god you did not. Please tell me you didn't."
"We did." Peter said happily.
Bucky tore away the paper and took off the baseball helmet to reveal a terrified looking, very awake Steve.
"Oh my god you did." Bucky looked up at the others with tears in his eyes. "This is all I've ever wanted. Thank you so much! How did you know?"
"I heard you singing yesterday." Peter told him.
"This is the best present I've ever received. He's beautiful." Bucky said tearfully, untying the ropes.
The second Steve was fully untied, he pulled the soggy biscuits from his mouth, tossed them in the bin, and sent thunderous glares to everyone.
"What the hell is wrong with you all?!" He yelled, making Peter jump and shrink into Tony's side. "You don't just- you don't just wrap people up and leave them beneath a tree for a whole night!"
Bucky put a hand on Steve's shoulder and murmured to him.
"Stevie, you're scaring Peter." Steve glanced up to see Peter curled into Tony's side, eyes wide as he stared up at him.
"Sorry Peter," He sighed, holding his arms out for a hug. Peter quickly obliged, smirking on the other side of Steve, where nobody could see him. He knew if he pretended to be all innocent and childish, he could get away with anything.
Peter was unaware that Steve was currently glaring at everyone else, mouthing his lecture to them instead.
After Steve had blew away some of his steam, Peter got to open all the presents that Santa had gotten him. He was slightly confused as to why Santa suddenly brought him more expensive things, unlike the cheap things that he normally received when he lived with May.
Then the adults exchanged presents.
Steve covered his eyes multiple times during it, which made Peter curious as to what exactly some of them had received.
After presents were opened, and inappropriate ones were hidden, Clint's kids arrived and showed their dad what they got from Santa, and played some games with Peter.
Everyone was having fun, and all was well.
That was, until Bucky threw a water balloon at Sam.
Because Christmas wasn't Christmas if someone didn't ruin the moment.
A/N Hi sorry I didn't get a chance to update yesterday, I was pretty busy and got home really late. Merry Christmas! (And happy new year)
I won't be updating tomorrow and possibly the next day since I'm spending time with family, and after that it'll probably only be a couple of chapters then I'm finishing this book because I am running out of ideas, so if anyone has any requests make sure they're in before the 4th of Jan 2019, because I'm going on holiday on the 5th and coming back like ten days later or something (I actually don't know when) and I won't have wifi.
Thank you to everyone who has read my book so far, you're all so amazing and it really inspires/gives me the confidence to continue this book.
Have a merry Christmas and happy new year, and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you have a great normal day anyway.
Happy reading
Have a nice day
:)
