Training Day

Today was training day. They didn't have it very often, with hours spent each day sparring, exercising and practising whatever their specialties were, but it wasn't the same as spending an entire day working on games and becoming closer as a team.

Today being that day, Peter scrambled out of bed excitedly, running into the kitchen, where nobody was awake.

He briefly wondered where everyone was, until he saw the time and realised it was only five am.

Peter opened the pantry, looking for cereal, and pulled out a large box of sugary cereal, then two fruits from the fridge, a bowl, and the jug of milk.

He poured out a large bowl of cereal then half-drowned it in milk- he liked to have a little bit of crunch at first, before it went soggy. Then Peter grabbed a tall glass and filled it with chocolate milk. He wasn't allowed it, but what his parents didn't know wouldn't hurt them.

Then Peter sat down on the couch, switching on the cartoons and watching spongebob, shovelling cereal into his mouth, eyes glued to the tv screen.

He forgot about his cereal for a moment, mouthing the words of the theme song.

"Whoooooooo lives in a pineapple under the sea!" Peter whispered, in exact time with the cartoon. "Spongebob squarepants!"

A loud chuckle was heard from behind him and Peter turned around, catching sight of Clint standing in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe in his light purple pyjamas pants and a pale blue Pooh bear t-shirt.

"You remind me of my kids." He told him, ruffling his hair as he passed. "And I see you took some of that chocolate milk."

Peter smiled sheepishly. "Please don't tell mum or dad,"

"Tell them? Oh, I dunno Peter, it might be the perfect excuse to make up for the extra that's going to go missing." Clint said, pouring himself a glass as well.

Peter narrowed his eyes at him. "You throw me under the bus and I'll take you with me." He threatened, gesturing his spoon at him.

Clint laughed at him, milk moustache on his upper lip. "Relax kid, go back to watching your 'grown up' cartoons."

"For your information, spongebob is for all ages!"

"I didn't say otherwise."

Grumbling under his breath, Peter finished his cereal and chocolate milk before his parents came out, then continued watching the cartoon, mouthing some of the dialogue and eating his fruit.

Natasha was next up, curling up in a blanket and watching spongebob with him for a little while, and Sam, Steve and Bucky came back from their run, Bucky and Steve looking perfectly fine and Sam out of breath.

"Remind me to never go running with these two again."

"Why? What happened?" Peter asked curiously, leaning over the back of the couch.

"On your left! On your right! Every. F!cking. Time." Sam slammed his water bottle onto the counter, Steve and Bucky giggling beside him like school children.

Peter giggled too, hiding it behind one of his hands.

Thor got up not long later, his hair wrapped in a towel, obvious that he had been up for a while. He ate three boxes of pop tarts for breakfast, making Steve sigh from behind his newspaper, knowing he'd have to go shopping before Thor threw a fit at not having pop tarts. They all knew he had an addiction, but the last time they had tried withdrawing him from them well.... it wasn't pretty, to say the least.

The bowls, cups, plates, and anything else that could break, were all smashed, and threw a tantrum like a two year old, threatening the 'man of iron' with his hammer (though they all knew he wouldn't actually hurt him) and eventually succumbing to tears and puppy dog eyes until Tony (a sucker for puppy dog eyes; Peter knew this for a fact) couldn't take it anymore and bought Thor his pop tarts.

Thor was extremely happy when he got them, telling everyone else that they weren't his true friends anymore. Peter was very upset about this, until Thor changed his mind and told everyone that only Tony and Peter were his true friends.

Tony was last to come in for breakfast, opening the fridge and immediately spotting the half empty bottle of chocolate milk.

"Peter, did you drink the chocolate milk?" Tony asked, holding it up as proof and giving Peter the look.

"No." Peter told him, avoiding eye contact and turning back to the tv.

"He did." Clint told him, smirking as Peter sent him a look of utter betrayal.

"Peter! We told you not to drink the chocolate milk! It was meant to be for when Antman and his daughter comes in two days!" Steve scolded, the newspaper now being read by Bucky.

Peter frowned, grumbling. "Uncle Clint drank some too! I only had a little bit."

Tony and Steve turned and glared at Clint, who just shrugged.

"You guys didn't tell me not to."

"Because we trusted you to actually be an adult! Not do childish things like drink all the chocolate milk, especially when Peter was told not to drink it." Steve told him, folding his arms.

"Gee, Sorry." Clint told them, not sounding sorry at all.

After breakfast, everyone went back to their rooms to change into their workout clothes, ready for the training day to start.

***

"We're starting with trust falls." Steve told them all in his captain voice. "Find a partner, we'll rotate every two minutes or so. Go!"

Clint and Natasha obviously paired up, while Sam and Bucky paired up, Peter and Tony, Bruce and Thor, Wanda and Vision, and Steve didn't pair up with anyone, watching until they rotated and someone else was rotated out.

"Okay, Nat, trust fall!" Clint said, arms out in the shape of a t, allowing himself to fall directly into the place Natasha had been standing. Natasha moved out of the way and let him fall, watching him go down to the ground with a smirk.

Clint laid on the floor, glaring up at her. "Traitor." He grunted, slowly standing up.

"Romanoff! It's called a trust fall for a reason! You need to catch him!"

Natasha rolled her eyes as Clint got up, sending a glare at her.

"We'll try again, and this time you better catch me."

"Whatever." Natasha sighed, holding her hands out ready to catch him.

Just as Clint started to fall, Natasha's phone rang and she moved out of the way, answering it with a 'hello?' Clint, meanwhile, fell to the floor and had the air pushed out of his lungs.

"Huh, just a wrong number call." Natasha said, turning back to where Clint was laying on the ground, glaring up at the ceiling. "What are you doing on the ground?"

Sam and Bucky meanwhile, were arguing, neither trusting the other to catch them. Sam eventually went first, and Bucky cracked up laughing as he let Sam fall. Sam grabbed the arm that Bucky had been pointing at him and pulled him down too, the two beginning to wrestle.

Thor and Steve eventually had to break them apart, and the two were lectured by Steve. Bucky, however, wasn't having it.

"Says you, the one who used to pick fights in alleyways when you were the size of a nugget." He said saltily.

Steve opened and closed his mouth, stuttering slightly. "But you guys are friends, and friends don't fight each other, right?"

"Says the one that went to war on me." Tony yelled from the other side of the room, where he was being held by Peter, the pair successfully doing a trustfall.

"Oh shut up Tony!"

On the other side of the room Thor did the trustfall with Bruce and accidentally brought out the hulk, which of course, caused a commotion.

Natasha had to try to calm him down, for Hulk had already smashed quite a lot of the equipment, and Peter was the first to calm him down by telling him a joke, one that made Tony facepalm.

"What do you call a bear with no teeth?" Peter yelled as hulk roared loudly. "A gummy bear!"

Hulk shrunk down to Bruce and everyone stared in shock, then looked at Peter, who was particularly triumphant.

After the hulk incident, Bruce didn't participate in the trust falls any more, so they continued rotating.

As a joke, almost everyone except Spoilsport Steve didn't catch Clint, letting him fall every time until he decided he didn't trust anyone in the room, including Steve since he once dobbed on him to Fury.

Wanda kept trying to catch them all with magic and accidentally shot Steve into the ceiling at a rapid speed, then tried to stop and let him fall nearly all the way down before catching him last minute before he hit the ground, then dropped him again with a loud thud.

Vision would just catch them normally then lean over your head from behind and smile on amildly creepy manner. It had freaked Tony out the most, who yelled at him to drop him, while the others just smiled back uncomfortably, and Wanda kissed him.

After trust falls, they split into two teams to play dodge ball.

Peter played with Clint, Steve, Tony, Vision and Wanda. They were against Natasha, Sam, Bucky, Thor and Bruce.

Peter was very good at dodging the balls due to his spider senses which made the others very annoyed on the other team. They would all bombard him with balls in an attempt to get him together, but it never worked.

Clint had incredible aim and would nail the other team easily, and Steve was constantly out by diving in front of other people to save them. Vision was good at flying around in the air, where it was harder to hit him, and Wanda threw the balls with magic.

At one point in the game Clint nailed Natasha in the face, then started laughing when she stopped. Everyone else had gone silent, the game pausing as they worried about Clint's life.

****

"Uncle Clint! Where are you?" Peter yelled, among the search parties in the tower looking for Clint. "Uncle Clint?"

He eventually found him at the top of the gym, having must have snuck back in there once they had all left the gym to search for him. Watching Natasha attack Clint had been a traumatising experience for Peter, but he knew it was probably even worse for poor Clint.

"Uncle Clint it's okay, she's gone."

"No, no she isn't, she's just waiting!"

"I promise I won't let her get you if you come down. Please Uncle Clint? I really wanna do training day."

Eventually, with the help of Steve, Tony and Thor, Clint decided to come down.

Natasha seemed to think nobody except Clint would see her as she stood in the doorway, where the other's had their back to her and made a gesture of running her finger across her throat to Clint, who immediately tried to escape up to the lights hanging from the ceiling again.

Thor wouldn't let him however, for he hadn't seen Natasha, but Peter had, shaking his head at her with wide eyes.

With that, they began the next game.

****

Peter quickly scrambled through the vents, panting slightly with his heart racing in fear. He could hear the familiar grunts and shuffles behind him and sped up, trying to go faster as he heard the noises getting louder and louder.

"No," he said aloud, muttering. "No, please!"

But it was inevitable. The it was merciless, and pleading would do nothing to prevent what was about to happen.

Clint tapped Peter's foot, and said; "you're it!" Then immediately started shuffling backwards, trying to get as far away as possible from Peter.

Peter swore, and below him he immediately heard "Language" yelled by Steve.

Scrambling to the nearest exit, Peter dropped down, only to find the inhabitants of the tower quickly leave the room, running as far as possible from him.

Suddenly, there was a loud buzzing noise and a red lightning flashed through the room. Peter groaned; they had a mission, and everyone knew that any games or bets weren't to be played while on the field.

Everyone quickly suited up and headed to the mission, hoping to finish as soon as possible.

It was a simple mission, and soon Steve was talking to nearby reporters, while everyone else scanned the area for other threats or checked to make sure any stray civilians were alright.

Peter, in his Spider-Man suit, tiptoed up behind him, holding a finger to his lips as the reporters eyes trailed over to him, watching him sneak up on Captain America.

With a grin nobody could see, Peter wacked Steve, accidentally hitting his face and yelled; "you're it!" Before running off in the other direction as fast as possible.

Steve lifted a hand to his face but smiled all the same. "Spider-Man you son of a b*tch."

Sam, Bucky and Tony, who were nearby, all yelled.

"Language!" Bucky and Sam said simultaneously.

"How dare you! I am no b*tch!" Tony gasped.

"You aren't my dad!" Peter protested, even though he called Tony dad on a daily basis. He really only said that because he thought it'd be funny for anyone watching it when it was on the news live.

"I am now. Isn't it past your bed time?"

Peter held up his middle finger at him, causing Tony to start chasing him.

"Hey! I tagged Cap not you!"

"You better run kid cause your grave is already dug!"

"Making my way downtown, walking fast, WALKING FASTER."

"Really?!"
