Babysitting for Uncle Clint
"Are you sure you'll be fine?" Laura asked worriedly, dressed in a beautiful floral dress and a black leather jacket that Natasha had leant her. Her brown hair was curled, and she had applied make up to her face.
"Don't worry Mrs Barton, I have experience with kids, and your kids are pretty well behaved." Peter replied, sending a friendly smile down at Lila, who was standing beside him, an innocent smile on her face.
Clint came into the room, dressed in a dark blue dress shirt, jeans, and fancy shoes. His hair was gelled back, and he smelt of a masculine perfume.
"Are you ready to go Laur?" He asked, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Laura sent him a loving smile.
"Alright," she said, giving in to his smile as he pressed a kiss against her forehead. She turned and looked at Peter, who was trying not to gag at their lovey-doveyness. "If anything happens, or you can't handle it, call us, okay?"
Peter nodded.
"Bye Peter!" Clint called, leading Laura out of the room.
"Make sure they're in bed by seven thirty! And no sugar!" She called as Clint gently lead her through the door, the click of the lock signaling their leave.
The moment the door had closed, all three children turned and looked at Peter.
"So, uh, what do you wanna do?" Peter asked lamely, unsure of what to do.
Two minutes later, Peter was sitting on the ground, playing lego with Cooper, all while Lila played with his hair- sticking bows in it, and making small piggy tails. Nathaniel was playing with some of his childrens toys, wacking Peter with them when Peter didn't pay enough attention to him.
"What do you think?" Lila asked, shoving the mirror up his nose so hard peter was contemplating checking it wasn't broken. Peter took the mirror and looked at his appearance, trying not to cringe as he noticed the large amount of bows and clips stuck everywhere possible. There was pink hair chalk in one part, and there was three pigtails sticking up.
"It looks great! Thank you Lila!" Peter said, smiling at the very proud looking Lila.
"Now do me!" She said, shoving the accessories into his hands.
Cooper looked devastated. "But he was going to play legos with me!" He whined.
Nathaniel seemed to agree, smacking another toy against Peter's leg.
"Er, why don't we do something we can do together? That everyone likes doing."
"Like what?" Cooper asked, folding his arms grumpily.
"Uhh, does everyone like drawing?"
"I like drawing!" Lila said loudly, eyes lighting up in excitement. Cooper just rolled his eyes.
"I suppose so," he sighed, beginning to pack away the lego. Peter felt a pang of guilt.
They pulled out all the crayons, textas and paper, beginning to draw. Peter showed Nathaniel how to keep the crayon on the paper, then went into the kitchen to heat up the dinner that Laura and Clint had preprepared for them.
It only took about five or so minutes to heat up the food and serve it up, but when he got into the lounge room again, it was a disaster zone.
Lila, Cooper and Nathaniel were all covered in ink, giggling as they continued drawing on each other. There was paper all over the floor, and they had somehow managed to smash a glass in the small amount of time he was gone.
"Guys!" Peter shrieked, staring at the mess in shock.
All three looked up, that look of pure innocence replacing their devilish grins they had sported just seconds before.
"How did you- I was gone for five minutes!"
Nathaniel narrowed his eyes at Peter, and Lila crossed her arms, a small smirk on her face.
"Nobody will ever believe you." She told him matter-of-factly.
She had definitely been spending too much time with Natasha.
Peter sighed, giving up. "Come and eat your dinner."
He placed the bowls on the dining table and put Nathaniel in the high chair, giving him his bowl as he went to clean up the smashed glass.
While he was cleaning up, it seemed the children wanted to make even more mess, their spaghetti bolognese flying everywhere as they started a food fight.
"Guys! Stop!" Peter tried yelling, only to get a facefull of spaghetti, which stuck to his hair, slid down his face and stained his jumper. "I'll call your parents!" He warned, and they finally stopped, grumpily eating their dinner and sending Peter death glares that could rival Bucky's glares.
After dinner, Peter started taking the dishes up to wash, and it only took about two minutes before he found the devil-children standing in front of him with puppy dog eyes.
"Can we have desert?" Lila asked, brown eyes wide as she stared up at him.
"No, your parents said no sugar." Peter replied.
"But we want ice cream!" Cooper whined. The two children wrapped themselves around Peter's legs, screaming up at him, chanting;
"Ice cream! Ice cream! Ice cream! Ice cream!" They chanted, over and over. Peter could feel a headache on the way.
"Alright! Fine! But just a little bit!" Peter sighed after at least five minutes of enduring their yells. They finally let go of his legs, so he headed over to the freezer and opened the ice cream tub.
It seemed giving the children ice cream was a bad idea. A very bad idea.
They giggled as they ran away from him throughout the house, Laura's favourite vase in their hands, Nathaniel just toddling after them with no idea what was going on, a bright grin on his face.
"Guys! Please don't break it!" Peter begged, running up the stairs, two at a time.
They just ran faster, the delicate vase resting in their sticky, small hands.
Eventually Peter managed to corner them in Cooper's bedroom and slowly approached them, hoping to Thor that they wouldn't drop the vase.
"Hand it over slowly." He said carefully, holding out his hands. "Or I'm telling your parents about your behaviour tonight."
Cooper finally handed over the vase, Lila looking disappointed as he did so.
Once Peter had finally put the vase somewhere they wouldn't be able to reach it, he headed back up the stairs where the three were still in their sugar rush, giggling and jumping on the bed, hitting each other with pillows.
"Bath time!" Peter announced, and they all pouted at him. They were covered in texta, Spaghetti, and dirt from earlier that day. Their hands were sticky from the ice cream, as were their faces.
Cooper was first to have a shower, scrubbing all the texta from his arms, legs and face. After his shower, he changed into his pyjamas while Peter convinced Lila to have a shower, promising her that he'd let her use his web shooters.
Nathaniel was much harder to convince. He point blank refused to take a bath, and made Peter slip on the bath towel on the floor and fall into the bath, his shirt getting soaked.
Peter finally managed to get Nathaniel into the bath while he was busy laughing at Peter, and scrubbed all the things off his skin.
By the time bath time was over, they were all experiencing sugar crashes.
They sat on the couch, Peter in the middle, reading books. Nathaniel wanted him to read 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt' at least six times before he fell asleep on Peter's lap, then Lila wanted him to read Billy B. Brown to her, and Cooper wanted him to read Captain Underpants.
It took quite some time before they were satisfied with the amount of reading and finally agreed to go to bed. Peter carried Nathaniel up to his bed and tucked him in, then went to make sure the other two went to sleep.
The second he was satisfied, Peter went back downstairs to clean up the rest of the mess, sighing thankfully that it was all over.
What had he been thinking, babysitting a master assassins kids, who also had a master assassin Aunt, who was their godmother and frequently taught them spy stuff- like how to cry to convince people like Peter to let them have ice cream?
This was so not worth twenty bucks.

When Clint and Laura arrived home that night, the house was quiet. Very quiet. The room was spick and span, everything extremely clean, and Peter had crashed on the couch, clothes wet, bows and clips in his hair and spaghetti stuck to one of his pigtails.
Upstairs, Lila, Cooper and Nathaniel were fast asleep.
Peter awoke when he heard them moving about.
"Oh, you're uh, back." He said, sitting up, his face in his awkward 'I'm embarrassed' expression.
"I hope they didn't give you too much trouble?" Laura said, smiling.
"Oh no! Not at all!" Peter inwardly cursed as his voice cracked involuntarily. "They were, uh, really well behaved."
Laura sighed in relief, but Clint grinned, knowing that Peter was lying. He pulled out a fifty dollar note and handed it to Peter. Peter grinned, taking the note and admiring it like he had never held such a large amount before.
"For your troubles." Clint said, heading back into the kitchen. "Now get some sleep, it's late."
Peter didn't need to be told twice. He had fallen asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, exhausted from taking care of the 'perfect children'.
Maybe next time he would just suck up his worries and just tell Tony that he needed a new backpack.
A/N: this is set just after Homecoming, but before Infinity war, there's a little grey space in between and that's where we are. That means that Clint's kids are a little older than in Age of Ultron, so that's why Nathaniel is walking around and all that. Just clarifying.
Also, I'm aspiring to be an author so constructive criticism is encouraged, as well as telling me if I made any glaring mistakes as I don't reread these to check for mistakes, but I know how irritating it is to find spelling/grammar/punctuation mistakes in stories. Thanks for reading! Makes me happy everyday :)
