I'm normal again?

Guess whose back, back again.
But like, I'm back(ish). Can't promise anything about my writing and when I publish. Soooo. Hope you like this.

Peter was slowly losing his mind, everything was fuzzy, he was moving slower, and he could barely breathe, what was HAPPENING?!

~That morning~

Peter woke up roughly. He looked at his alarm clock and saw he still had 10 minutes before he had to get up. He sighed and laid back down. He couldn't fall asleep so he just laid there. When his alarm went off, he noticed the absence of hunger.

"Huh, guess I ate enough yesterday." He said to himself. He got dressed and walked into the living room.

"Morning." He mumbled tiredly.

"Morning Pete," Bucky said as he started piling pancakes on a plate for Peter.

"That's enough, thanks, Buck."

"You sure Pete?" Bucky looked confused at the 3 pancakes, instead of the usual 12.

"Yeah... Not that hungry I guess." Peter took the plate and a small cup of coffee and sat at the dining table.

After two pancakes he started getting full, a fuller feeling he usually gets. It was weird, he felt good otherwise so it was unlikely that he was sick. He walked back to his room to get his bag, leaving his pancake to take with him when he left for school.

"Whoa, watch out kid, almost floored your old man there."

"Sorry Mister Stark, I guess I didn't see you." Peter finished the sentence with a yawn.

"No worries kiddo. You okay?"

"Yeah, fine." Peter walked off into his room.

He grabbed his bag, threw in his homework and walked back to the kitchen to grab his lunch (made by our sweet Buckaroo) Saying his goodbyes to everyone as he walked into the elevator.

~~

"Did he look off to you?" Tony asked Bucky.

"Yes, he only ate 2 pancakes, he usually eats 12, or 9 on a bad day. He said he's fine, so we will see what will happen."

"Yeah, I guess so...

~At school~

Peter had trouble focusing on, well, everything. His vision was blurry, he was developing a headache and he was tired, extremely tired.

The bell rang, signalling it was time for lunch. Peter sluggishly grabbed all his stuff, stuffed it into his bag and followed the rest of his class out. When he entered the cafeteria he was trying to look for Ned and MJ. Shouldn't be that hard right? Right?
Well, wrong. Peter could barely recognise anyone. As he just walked around, hoping to see Ned or MJ, he bumped into someone. And of course that someone had to be Flash, who was carrying a tray, which was now pushed against his chest.

"Oh for fucks sake Penis, what can you do?!" Flash yelled angrily. Before Peter could even react, he was pushed back hard, by Flash. As Peter landed on his back, hard, all the air pushed out of his lungs. He coughed as he tried to gain his breath again.

"Puny Penis Parker." Flash kicked him one more time before walking away. Peter just laid there, trying to focus and thinking of what he needed to do. Well, he needed to get up, but he didn't have the energy.

"Come on Pete, let's get you up." Someone was talking to him. Someone was helping him up.

"Ned?" Peter asked in a breath.

"Yeah buddy, it's me. Let's go to MJ okay? Come on."

Ned helped Peter to the table where MJ was waiting for them. When Peter was seated he immediately laid his head in his arms, closing his eyes for a sec.

"You okay loser?" MJ asked.

"Hmmm."

"Alright."

Ned and MJ continued their previous conversation while Peter slowly fell asleep. Peter woke up with a start when Ned poked him.

"The bell is about to ring, are you sure you're okay?" As far as he could see Ned's face clearly, he could see the worry on his face.

"'m fine, tired, headache..."

"That's all? Pete, you haven't eaten anything, normally you can barely survive a period without eating anything."

"Just not hungry." The bell rang, saved by the bell.

To be honest, Peter still didn't know what was wrong. He didn't feel sick or anything, just sluggish or something. He just hoped school would pass fast, so he just could go home.

Well, school went by pretty quickly, mostly because Peter kept falling asleep. He walked out of the school towards the usual parking spot of Happy. Getting into the car he mumbled some kind of 'hello' to Happy and closed his eyes once again.

"Kid." Happy spoke into the silent car. When he got no answer he looked into his rearview mirror, seeing the kid dead asleep. He smiled fondly, thinking Peter must have had a rough day.

When they arrived at the tower Happy needed to do some more than just call the kid. Opening Peter's door resulted in Peter falling out of the car, now wide awake.

"What happened?!"

"Just opened the door for you." Happy laughed as he walked away.

Peter stood up, groaning as he was still hurting from the push from Flash. He grabbed his bag and walked towards the elevator.

Peter was barely out of the elevator when Steve started talking.

"Finally, you're late."

"Hmm?" Late for what?

"Come on, time for training." Steve took Peter's arm and pulled him back into the elevator to go to the gym.

Time for training... Peter was everything but excited. He just wanted to go to bed and fall asleep, hoping that tomorrow would be normal again. But noooo, he had to train. Changing into his spider suit made him somewhat out of breath.

Running around, trying to dodge everything thrown at him and trying to attack everyone was becoming harder and harder. Peter could barely breathe normally.

Clint showed up out of nowhere, kicking Peter so he fell off the wall and fell flat on his back on the ground.

He could barely breathe, correction, he couldn't breathe. His lungs wouldn't accept the air he was trying to breathe. It was a familiar feeling, something he hadn't felt in a long time, an asthma attack.

"...eter, Peter..." Tony, Tony was standing above him.

"In-in-haler." Peter rasped out.

"Bruce!"

A few seconds later he felt something against his mouth, he opened his mouth and closed his lips around the inhaler, accepting the medicine. Peter started to catch his breath, leaning into Tony who was holding him in a sitting position.

"What happened there kiddo?"

"Don't know..." Peter really didn't know what was happening.

Peter got permission to go to his room, he took a shower hoping it would help. It didn't really.

He felt like he was losing his mind, he felt weak, noticed he would stick less, his eyesight was getting worse and he felt like his weak old self again. Why is this happening? What has he done wrong?!

Tony was worried about Peter too, he never saw the kid act like this. Tony knocked on Peter's door softly, not wanting to scare the kid. But after not receiving an answer he knocked harder. Finally receiving a soft 'yes', Tony walked cautiously into the room.

Peter looked up when he heard a knock. Giving a tiny 'yes' and the door opened, revealing Tony.

"Hey," Peter said, voice raspy from the previous breakdown.

"You okay kid? Didn't really look like it in the gym." Peter stayed quiet, debating whether to tell Tony the truth or to lie to him. And apparently, you could see it on his face that something was bothering him.

"You know you can tell me everything right?"

"Yeah, I know. It's just." Peter let out a long heavy sigh, he could feel the tears burning behind his eyes. "I feel like I'm going insane." He let out a wet laugh, tears streaming down his face.

"Oh kid, what's the matter?" Tony was now more worried than ever. Sitting down next to the kid, letting Peter curl into him.

"I feel weak, can barely breathe normally, everything is getting more and more blurry, I can't stick to anything anymore and I- I just... I don't know it anymore."

"Oh, poor kiddo. When did you start noticing this?"

"Today was- was the worst. But like, uh, I- I think I started get-getting weaker like uhh, uhm, a we-week ago?"

"Have you ever had this before?" Tony wanted to figure out what was happening to the kid, worried that it was something bad.

"Not like this," Peter was calming down a bit, not as hysterical as he was before. "I- uhh, I've noticed the past 2 years that in the really cold winters that I-, uhm, that I'm slower and more tired. But never like this. It feels like I've lost my powers or something..." Peter took a deep breath, not wanting to face the possible answer to his problems. "But- but I don't want to not be Spider-Man, I l-love it and I- I- do don't want to lo-se that p-p-part of m-me..." More tears started to fall down his face, his breathing started to get laboured again and Tony was scared that Peter would go back into panic mode.

"Hey Petey, it will be okay, we will look into it and we will figure it out." But it was like he was talking to a wall, Peter was not responding to anything Tony said. Peter was staring at the ground, breathing heavily. He was consumed by his own panic, not snapping out of it.

Tony softly grabbed Peter's arm, trying to make contact with him and ground him.

"Peter?" Tony said softly. After still no contact Tony decided that he needed to contact Bruce, needing the doctor for more advice.

"FRIDAY, contact Bruce please, tell him it's urgent."

"Of course boss, Dr Banner is on his way, ETA 57 seconds."

"Thanks FRI."

~~~
Bruce cautiously entered the room, FRIDAY had informed him what was going on. When he had entered the room he saw Tony and Peter sitting on the floor, leaning against the bed. Peter was hunched over and not responding to Tony, who was trying to make contact with the kid.
"Hey"
"Oh hey Bruce, I don't know what to do anymore. He's not responding to anything. It's like he just shut down."
"That is a possibility," Bruce kneeled down in front of Peter, "Hey kiddo." After no reaction, Bruce carefully lifted Peter's face so Bruce could see him. Bruce shined a light into his eyes so he could check his pupil's reaction.
"Pupils are reacting to the light," Bruce looked at Tony, "We should move him to MedBay." Tony nodded and got up, helping the kid get up too.
Peter moved with them, slowly, but he could stand on his own. Tony had an arm around Peter, leading him towards the elevator. While they were standing in the elevator, Peter started to lean more and more into Tony, now barely standing on his own. Arriving at MedBay, Tony led Peter to the bed and sat him down. Peter started to lie down on his own and shut his eyes. Bruce carefully started to connect Peter to the monitors so they could monitor him (duh).
Peter was now sleeping, snoring a little, Bruce was looking for something on his tablet and Tony just stood there, not knowing what to do.
"Tony, you have to see this," Bruce walked over to Tony with his tablet. "Look, I've monitored Peter a lot of times, and these are some of the results. But if you look at it now you can see a lot of differences. Like, his oxygen intake is less, his heart rhythm is slower."
"Bruce, please tell me you can give an answer about what this is."
"I'm not sure yet. When he wakes up I want to take some blood so FRIDAY can analyse it."
"Bruce, spill it. I can tell that you think you know it." Tony could always tell.
"It's, it looks like he's losing his power. I just wanna make sure with the blood sample."
Tony was quiet for some time. Replaying everything Peter had said in his breakdown. It feels like I've lost my powers or something... Peter knew it too.
"He knew," Tony muttered.
"What?" Didn't Bruce hear him?
"Peter knew. He knew he was losing his powers. He told me before his shutdown."
~~
Peter woke up sometime later. Not really remembering what happened, what he did notice was that everything was quiet. He relaxed more into the soft mattress. Hold up, this wasn't his mattress. He quickly opened his eyes and sat up, worried that he was taken or something. But, he was just in MedBay. Well, that's what he thought. Everything was pretty blurry. Why was his sight so blurry, just like... Just like before the spider bite. He knew it, he somehow lost his powers."
"Looks like someone is awake." Tony, said. Not that he could see the man, but he knew that voice. "How are you, Peter?"
"I- I don't really know. It's like, I don't feel sick or anything. But I feel weak, as in, not Spider-Man strong."
"Peter, look at me." Woah, Tony was a lot closer, Peter was apparently not talking to him.
"Sorry, it be blurry." Peter let out a little laugh, ironic how he went from the best eyesight of the team to the worst eyesight of the team.
"What do you mean."
"Before the spider bite, I used to wear glasses."
"I knew that, but it can't be that bad right."
"Well,..."
"Minus 13.25 and minus 12.75." Apparently, Bruce was also in the room. Peter made a confirming sound.
"Jeez kid, didn't know it was that bad."
"Yeah, wasn't funny when I lost or broke my glasses."
"Understandable. Peter, I heard what you said to Tony, about thinking you've lost your power. I want to be sure, so is it okay if I take a blood sample?"
"Yeah, sure Bruce." Even though Peter didn't like needles, he knew it needed to be done.
After the blood sample had been taken, Bruce left the room to analyse the blood. Tony stayed.
"Tony?"
"Yes, kiddo."
"Have you called May?"
"I have yes, she's coming later in the afternoon. Why?"
"Can you ask if she can bring my glasses? I'm getting a headache from the blurriness."
"Oh yeah, I will call her right back. Anything else?"
"She will know what else."
"Alright."
Tony stepped out of the room, leaving Peter alone. He was exhausted, everything finally caught up. Before he knew it, he fell asleep.
~~
"Sweety. Wake up." Peter woke up slowly to soft-spoken words. Opening his eyes resulted in the same blurriness as before. He rubbed his eyes, slowly sitting up.
"Here, this will help." May carefully slid his old glassing on his nose. The world was getting sharper and sharper until he could see normally again." May was sitting on the side of his bed, Tony was nowhere in sight. He was connected to a heart rate monitor and an oxygen clip was attached to his finger. And of course, a small teddy bear was leaning against his arm. He smiled when he picked it up.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome. I know how it helps you." May smiled at him softly. "How are you doing Petey?"
"I guess I'm fine. It- it is like a part of me was taken away, I can feel the void inside me where I felt my power. I know it sounds crazy but I don't know how else I would be able to subscribe it."
"No, I understand Pete. It might not be anything similar to what you're experiencing, but when Ben died, I also felt a void inside of me. The place where Ben had been living for all those years was suddenly empty." You could see the sadness on both Peters and Mays faces, the loss of their husband and uncle still hurts them.
"How did you fill it?"
"I haven't filled it completely, but the void isn't as big as it used to be. And that is mostly because of you. Even though Ben was ripped out of out livers, you were still in it, and you never stopped being that smart bubbly kid. Even though a lot had changed, even though you've lied to me multiple times, you never stopped loving me. And that really helped me fill that void."
"I'm sorry for lying May. I- I just didn't know how to tell you..."
"It's okay kiddo, I understand now. And I'm glad I have found out everything now. And I'm grateful for the help you have here." They smiled at each other, knowing Tony was probably listening while pretending to work in the corner.
~~Stomach sounds~~
"How about we get some food in you, huh?" May laughed as Peter turned as red as a tomato.
The end.
Hope you liked it :)
