Deep Breaths Tony
Tony was sitting at his desk at the Stark Industries waiting for his next meeting to start. Normally he didn't give a shit about his meeting but this one was different. He took three deep breaths. In, out. In, out, In, out. Then he pressed a buzzer on his desk. "Alright, come on in."

Tony and Pepper were hanging out in his office, goofing around when Pepper mentioned something about kids. Tony was reading a paper at the time, half listening to Pepper, often inserting himself with a quip.
"Something about kids" she'd said.
Tony shot his head up and put the paper down. "I wanted to talk to you about that." She furrowed her eyebrows and he went on. "Kids. Um... May's been working hard recently and I was thinking we could send her on a trip around the world all expenses paid for a few years or so. But, Peter wouldn't just up and leave his home for a few years because he's loyal to his friends and to his town. So he'd need a place to stay. I was thinking here. But for this to count as his place of residence on his school records, we'd have to be listed as emergency contacts because May wouldn't be able to pick him up. We'd be his new guardians. Once my mind went there it kept on rolling and I got to thinking. Why don't we, if Mays okay with it... adopt the kid?"
Pepper was smiling so big To y thought her face was going to tear in half. "When given the chance to adopt a small child you always say yes. Let's ask our other four kids to see if they're okay with it too?"
Tony opened his mouth to say something but Pepper cut him off with a laugh.
"Never mind they don't get a say."

When the door clicked open, Tony looked up from the desk and stood up eagerly to shake May's hand. She immediately vetoed that and gave him a hug. Usually, he wasn't all that fond of physical contact due to his past and his asshole of a father but May had grown to be one of Pepper and Tony's closest friends so he just accepted it with an exaggerated sigh.
"Oh stop it, Tony. You know you love me."
Tony cracked a smile as he sat down. "I know, I know." Then he looked over at the picture of him and Peter, making faces and giving each other bunny ears when Peter got an official internship with Stark Industries. He picked up the plane tickets he bought May. First class to Italy, then Greece, then Egypt, Brazil, France, China, America for Peter's graduation because she would never miss that, India, Iceland,Japan, New Zealand, Malasiya, Australia, and finally back to the United States. "May, you might be wondering why this is a meeting and couldn't wait untill next week when you and Pepper are meeting up for wedding planning." She nodded, and he put the tickets in her hand. "It's because the plane leaves in four days."
"Oh my God! Tony, what is this? What are you doing?"
"I'm sending you around the world for a few years. Alone." Her eyes welled up with tears.
"Tony you know I can't accept this! I'd miss your wedding! Peter's graduation! I wouldn't do this to Peter, I can't."
"May, the wedding id in Brazil so you wouldn't be missing it. I put in a plane back to the U.S. for Peter's graduation, a weekend with him, his graduation party, and then a plane to go to India. We can set up video chats, or hologram chats if you'd prefer, for you and Pepper to talk about the wedding. We'd make sure Peter has a place to stay, and you'd still be able to talk to him all the time. You deserve this, May. Take it."
May was basically sobbing at this point and she just nods yes and reached to hug Tony again. "Thank you, tony. I don't know how I could ever repay you."
Tony gave her a bright smile. "Take the vacation. Go and enjoy it. Embrace the different cultures, languages, fashion senses. Take it and learn, grow, and bask in it. And bring us one hell of a souvenir." He winked at her. She laughed.
She wiped her eyes from some more stray tears. "But what about Peter. He can't afford our apartment."
Tony laughs. "That was the other topic of discussion." He opens a drawer and pulls out adoption papers. He and Pepper both already signed. He put it in front of May. She gasped. "I got really emotionally attached to this kid and I need him in my life. He's already like a son to me. I was just kind of hoping we could make it official."
May grabbed the nearest pen to her and signed the papers right then. She then leveled him with a glare. "If Peter doesn't want this, which we both know he will, but I'm taking precautions, we tear this paper up and it never happened."
Tony smiled so much one could say he would split his face in half. "FRIDAY, send a text to Peter."
After a beat, the AI called back. "What do you want to say, boss?"
"I know today isn't a day that you're supposed to come over, but I got the okay from May. We need to talk but don't worry. It's good news. So swing on by when you're done with school. See you later, Underoos."

"Boss, Peter is currently headed straight for the window of your lab."
Tony sighed. "Open the window, and when he arrives tell him to meet me on Floor 147."
Tony kept typing on the computer in front of him, setting up a dinner with Elton John and David Furnish. "Hey, bambino!" Peter smiled at Tony in response.
"You said you had news for me? Is Pepper pregnant? Wait, no I saw her on the way here and didn't hear a heartbeat in her stomach. Did you buy something big for me again, like that time you bought YouTube Internationally and made sure T-Series was being fair with their sub count because I ranted to you about it once?"
Tony laughed, remembering the exchange. Peter thought it was hilarious. Pepper did not. "No, uh, I talked to May this morning. Me and Pepper gave her a gift and she gave us one." Peter was visibly confused, so Tony enlightened him. "We gave her a trip around the world and she gave us quite possibly the only thing I've really wanted for some time now." Tony smiled at Peter, albeit unsteadily. In, out. In, out. In, out. In, out. He handed Peter the adoption papers.
"Mr. Stark?" Tony's eyes were drilling holes into the ground. "You adopted me?"
Tony brought his eyes up to Peter's, which were glistening with the ghost of his past shining with tears. "Yeah. I, uh, hope your alright with tha- oof!" Peter rammed himself into Tony, his arms wrapped around his waist, squeezing tightly.
"Of course I'm alright with it, Dad."
