Peter's day at school started as any day would, with being late. Then it proceeded as all days do, easy lessons with a sprinkling of dying inside (who was he kidding, it was more than a sprinkling).

So, after having an exceptionally boring day, Peter assumed that it would continue being boring and normal.

Well, you know what happens when you assume things.

Meandering over to the tower, as Peter always did after school, he couldn't help but notice the shiny black jet that was parked on the landing strip. He shrugged it off, thinking that it was just some foreign dignitary.

I mean, he wasn't exactly wrong, but it wasn't just anybody. It was King T'challa of Wakanda, with a hoard of Rouge Avengers that needed to be present for a revising of the Accords.

Peter was blissfully unaware of that, though, and continued into the tower. He stopped by the living room to say 'hi' to Mr. Stark, but he wasn't there. So, he went to the kitchen. No Stark. Knocked on his door. No Answer.

"Hey, FRIDAY?"

"Yes, Peter?"

"Oh. Um, I was just wondering if you knew where Mr. Stark was." Peter asked.

"He is currently in a meeting. Shall I tell him you were asking after him?" FRIDAY answered.

"No, thanks. That's alright." Peter chuckled awkwardly.

"Son Override: Boss has been notified of your queries."

"What?" Peter asked, mortified.

Peter put his head down and rushed off to his room, deciding to just do homework rather than mess with Mr. Stark's business.

~Meanwhile, in a Meeting~

Tony dragged a hand down his face. General Ross was an idiot, he decided, and to elaborate, he was an evil idiot.

"What I'm saying is, is that we need to have an ultimatum, we need to have a place to store the ones that have gone bad--"

"That didn't stop us before." Steve said, tilting his head. "And beyond that, the Raft in unethical. Putting a shock collar and straitjacket on a child? I've done a lot, but that is way too far."

Tony pointed over. "Yes! And having everyone sign? I think only adults should, which, which is to say over eighteens, or better, over twenty.." He trailed off when he saw everyone looking at him. "What?" he said defensively.

Wanda spoke up. "I get twenty, that covers me, but who do you know that is under eighteen? I'm barely above that, so it's not me."

Tony didn't answer.

"Tony?" Nat asked.

Then, FRIDAY spoke up. "Son Override Activated. Peter has been asking after you."

"Thanks, FRIDAY." Tony said softly, not meeting anyone's eyes. After a lengthy pause, "I guess you have your answer, then."

"Son? Tony, who is that?" Steve asked in barely a whisper. He knew the answer, but he wished it wasn't true.

dear god, please let me not have dropped a Jetway on a kid

General Ross caught on quickly. "If Spider-Man is in this tower, he needs to be here. We have no guarantee that he isn't going to turn on the city."

Tony's eyes lit with a type of anger that none of them had ever seen on him before- a fatherly anger. "No. Spider-Man is a minor. This doesn't concern him, because- by the way, Wanda shouldn't be here if she doesn't want to, Ross. She should have an opportunity to be a normal kid if she wants to, after all that you put her through."

Ross looked irked. "Fine, but we need an identity-"

"No." Tony said firmly. "Spider-Man will remain anonymous. That is final."

General Ross exhaled angrily. "Fine- let's just continue."

They talked about everything and anything, but then the topic switched to Bucky.

"He needs to be imprisoned!" Ross argued.

Tony pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes. "Thaddeus, that is the most stupid thing you've said this meeting, which," He opened his eyes, "is saying something, since a lot of stupid things have left your mouth in the last few hours."

Everyone looked surprised.

"Don't look surprised, his suggestion is literally what started the rift between us. Bucky deserves a second chance."

No one moved, and Tony sighed anxiously.

~Back in Peter's Room~

Peter set down his pencil, having finished his homework. He knew he was going to get bored quickly.

"Hey FRIDAY, does Dad want me to break him out?" He froze, having referred to Mr. Stark as Dad.

FRIDAY spoke up. "He said, 'of course, son.' Boss is in conference room seven."

Peter leapt up, and dashed towards room seven. He and his dad (man, that was great) had come up with several situations to use as excuses to get the other out of something they didn't want.

He dashed past the kitchen, catching sight of a man. he slowed, backtracked, and his mouth fell open.

"King T'challa?"

The man turned around, and Peter's suspicions were confirmed. He quickly left again, getting an idea of what kind on meeting his father was in.

Summoning some tears quickly, Peter flung open the door to the conference room and cried, "Dad! My girlfriend just told me that she cheated on me!"

Peter looked out upon all of his childhood heroes and figured an introduction could be made later. They all stared back with blank faces, so Peter continued.

On the floor, "For the second time!"

For good measure, Peter let out a few dramatic wails.

Tony walked over. "Excuse me, Ross. I have more important matters to attend to than listening to you try to disband us again." He scooped up the sobbing teen and left.

No one knew what to do, so Steve took over. "Looks like that's all for today, folks."

General Thaddeus Ross was mad, but generally, when in a room full of impatient supers, you don't show it. "If you leave, then I'm gonna assign someone else to draft the Accords."

Steve shrugged. "Feel free, Ross. Not like anyone could do a worse job than you."

With that, everyone filed out of the conference room, heading to their floor, which both Tony and Peter lived on, as well. It was the communal floor, and it was very luxurious. They expected to see Tony comforting the kid, but instead they saw... nothing?

"FRIDAY, where is Tony?" Wanda asked.

"Boss is in his lab with Peter, working on various tech."

"Can we head down there?" It was Nat this time.

"No need, Natasha Romanoff, they are coming up."

Just like that, the elevator door opened and instead of the sobbing child that they had met, it was a laughing one. Tony was laughing too, and they were surprised.

Tony looked up, and gestured to Peter. "Avengers, meet Peter, my son. Peter, Avengers."

Peter looked like he was about to explode. "Oh, wow! I've heard about you so much! I mean, Mr. Barnes, your arm may not come from a great experience but that is the coolest thing ever. Mr. Rogers, sir, your bravery is rad. Oh, Ms. Romanoff, I love the way you're so cool and can choke someone with anything, like guys thirst after you constantly, which isn't cool, but yeah. And Wanda, you are so cool, and gosh, I'm saying cool a lot, but it's true! Mr. Wilson, your tech is so awesome, and Redwing is the cutest. I know Mr. Lang isn't here but I wish he was so that I could look at that suit and Oh my god T'challa? Your tech is epic, like ultimate cool, iconic, and your sister is such a genius, my friend did a report on how good of an example she was for other girls..."

Peter gushed so much about the Rogues (+ T'challa, who had joined the group) that they would immediately die for him, no questions asked.

So, it wasn't a big surprise if you were walking on the roads of New York and would come across Spider-Man fighting with an Avenger. He was just that cool.
