I... Forgot?

its been a while... but Tony is back!! in a stereotypical 'parker is wHAT??" fic, join Peter as he tries desperately to escape from his class

* * *

Ned stood in the lobby of the Avengers Tower, looking around and gazing at the ceiling. There were couches, tables, even a breakfast station in the lobby. It was impressive, but Ned figured that came with being a billionaire.

He was standing next to MJ, who was holding a book, per usual. However, Peter was not there. Ned didn't know why, the field trip had been a pretty big deal. Maybe Peter was purposely avoiding it?

His phone pinged, and Ned tore his attention away from the ceiling to look down at the white and gold tiles. He took his beat-up phone out of his pocket, and saw a text from Peter.

Peter: dude im at a robbery rn or something. cover for me? ik that chemistry is a tough class to skip

The guy in the chair realized, in a stroke of genius, that Peter had no idea of the field trip. He had forgotten, apparently, and Ned grinned. He showed the text to MJ, whose eyes lit up for a second.

"Oh, this aughta be good." MJ said, returning to her book. Ned let her, going to respond to Peter.

Neddie: yeah sure, man. you gonna stop at the tower???

Peter: Might

Ned messaged him again, but got no response. He didn't stress about it. Peter was busy with stopping bad guys. The teacher was trying to get their attention, anyway.

Mr. Litchfield, their calculus teacher with a pug face, who had gotten the trip approved, was waving his hands to get the children to look at him. Once that was achieved, he began to speak in his nasally voice.

"Listen up, Midtown High! The tour guide is here now. She is going to give you passes, then she will take us through security. Behave, please." He motioned towards a woman with a box in her hands. She set the box down on a couch before she spoke.

"Hey guys!" She said cheerfully. "I am Ms. Grayson. Come take a pass and then we can head over to security." As the children made a mad rush to the box, she began to speak more. "Make sure you clip your passes on your outer layer of clothing. Out head of security is picky about being able to see them."

Ned had to hold back a snort. Of course Happy was picky about it.

He held a pass in his hands, studying it. Despite visiting all the time, he never got one. He always just followed Peter, who, Ned now realized, didn't have a pass either. He was about to ask about that when someone else beat him to it.

"What levels are there?" Betty asked, holding up a hand.

Ms. Grayson responded, "Well, with 100 floors, there are 10 levels of passes. Level 1, which you all have, will get you up to floor ten. Mine, a Level 5, will let me in to up to floor fifty. It is possible to not have a pass, but only Tony Stark and several other people use fingerprints or eye scans."

The class took that for an answer, and so the group walked over to the security checkpoint. One by one, the children walked though a little metal archway and scanned their passes. FRIDAY startled them the first few people, but it wasn't a big deal.

MJ walked through, and FRIDAY spoke to her in a warm voice rather than the cold, boring one she had used for the rest of the class.

"Welcome back, Michelle Jones. Are you just on a tour?"

"You got it, FRIDAY." MJ responded, bored.

Ned walked through next.

"Ned, I was wondering when you would walk through. Is Peter here? I cannot detect his vitals."

"Nope, Peter's off... doing work for his internship." Ned hesitated, not saying that he was Spider-manning.

Flash looked a little confused and disgruntled that FRIDAY knew them, but maybe that was just his face. He didn't comment on it, and hovered near Mr. Litchfield who was looking exceptionally wrinkly that day.

Ms. Grayson herded the class into an elevator after everyone had walked through the checkpoint.

"Our first stop is one of the lower level labs, where a team is working on some simpler projects. They are just as important as the ones that Mr. Stark works on, however, so please appreciate them."

Nodding, the children huddled in the elevator. When the doors opened again, instead of the clean and luxurious lobby, they opened to a cluttered lab.

Ms. Grayson took the kids around, and had some of the scientists speak.

After that lab, they went to the Avengers museum. Ned wandered around with MJ, since they had to have a buddy. He stayed a long time at the Iron Man one, and MJ had to drag him away because she wanted to see the Black Widow one.

Then, right before they had to return to the main group, they saw it. The ultimate, coolest, ultra-mega awesome display.

Spider-Man.

MJ showed a little bit of interest, and studied the fact cards intently before nodding in satisfaction, like she had just confirmed an old theory of hers.

Ned started sweating, but he was quickly overloaded by the cool display of his friend. It had Peter's first suit, a hologram of his webshooters, and the fact cards.

Off to the side, there was a slideshow of various videos and pictures of Peter in action. Ned watched it, nearly vibrating with excitement. There was some of Peter swinging, eating with his mask rolled up slightly, and many more that Ned didn't get to see, because Ms. Grayson was calling everyone back to the elevator to continue the tour.

In the elevator, Flash pushed his way over to Ned and MJ. "Where's the dickwad?"

MJ looked him in the eye. "Right in front of me, why?"

Rolling his eyes, "I meant the nerd. Parker. He too chicken to show up?"

Ned sighed. "He's doing off-site work for his internship. Leave us alone."

Surprisingly, Flash did, but he went over to Mr. Litchfield, and Ned had a bad feeling about it.

The elevator doors opened, revealing a tired Bruce Banner, who was not prepared for twenty- odd nerds looking at him like he was the sole reason they were alive. Ned went to eagerly hop over, but Mr. Litchfield stopped him with a hand.

They went aside, and Mr. Litchfield looked mad. It didn't look good on him, but then again, nothing did.

"It's come to my attention that you are still covering for Mr. Parker. I am disappointed that you believe his lies, and even more so that you are helping to spread them. When we get back to school I am going to discipline you, but for now I want to enjoy this trip without any meddling teenagers. Can I count on no nonsense during this tour?"

Ned took it all like a champ, even Mr. Litchfield's spit, which drenched Ned like a Log Flume. Ned didn't respond, which frustrated the teacher, so Ned was grabbed by the back of his collar and dragged back to the group like a misbehaving kitten.

Bruce looked up at the commotion, and saw the boy. "Oh, hey Ned-"

An alarm began to blare, and FRIDAY spoke. "Code: Miss Kiesha Situation activated. Incoming in thirty seconds."

Bruce sighed, ushering the teens away from the window. He opened it, and just in time for a red and blue blur to hurdle into the room.

The class gasped, and stared at Spider-Man, who was groaning in a heap on the floor.

Banner crouched next to him. "FRIDAY, vitals."

"Of course, Doctor. Our young hero seems to have been stabbed in the lower abdomen. It is not life threatening, but I would recommend treatment as soon as possible. Besides that, he is dehydrated, and I would recommend one of Sargent Barnes' cookies."

Scrunching up his face, "What's that last one, FRIDAY?"

Peter, or rather the masked vigilante, responded instead. "I programmed her to say that cause I want more of his cookies."

Bruce laughed a little. "Alright, little guy. Let's get you on this bed before you bleed out on my floor."

The class watched with wide eyes. Ned and MJ in particular were worried, though the latter didn't show it.

Peter winced as Bruce began to clean out the wound. "Ned is gonna be so mad that I skipped chemistry to get stabbed. Or maybe it's the other way around- I think I got stabbed so I had a reason to skip."

Ned narrowed his eyes and Banner chuckled awkwardly. "Alright, buddy. Lets not say too much. We've got visitors."

"Oh." Peter said lightly, turning to glance at the kids. "Hey, I think I know them."

The class gasped, first he knew Ned, and now them? Man, wherever Peter was, he was missing a real treat.

Bruce nodded. "You sure do, Spidey. They're the class... of your uh, your buddy Peter."

Peter looked confused. "What? But-"

Banner panicked. "Stop talking until you're in your right mind. Yeah? I think that's a good idea." He looked over at the high schoolers. "I think its best if you leave now. Sorry to cut it short. Longer lunch, I guess."

Ms. Grayson nodded, and managed to get the rowdy group to the cafeteria, where they swarmed Ned and MJ despite her best efforts.

"You guys know Spider-Man?"

"What's he like? Is he hot?"

"How old?? Like, would it be creepy to have a crush on him?"

"Do you guys hang out together?"

Ned glanced at MJ, who just shook her head and let Ned deal with the riot. He did his best.

"Right. So, um... So, we hang out with him and Peter sometimes-" Then, his phone started ringing. He held up a finger, and went to take it. It was a panicked Bruce.

"Ned! I gave Peter some painkillers and now he's going nuts- Oh, no! Peter- He just escaped, Oh my god..." The line went dead, and Ned looked at his phone with a frown before shrugging and walking back to the group, who was now waiting in lines at the Tower's food court.

A few minutes later, the elevator pinged and the doors opened. Peter dashed out, followed soon by Bruce who used another elevator. Bruce was panting with his labcoat flying behind him, and Peter was laughing.

Mr. Litchfield was horrified. "Peter! What are you doing here?"

Peter just giggled, and held out his arms before dashing over to Ned. "Neddie! Guess what?"

Ned let out a breath. "What?"

Peter started bouncing. "Mr. Stark's gonna come down and let me hang out with him! Brucie Bear called cause apparently I'm going nuts. Heheheh."

The elevator pinged again, and Tony Stark walked out.

"C'mere, Pete. You need to rest, buddy. You can't be running around when you were just stabbed."

The food court was quiet for a minute. Then,

"Wait." Flash looked like he was putting the dots together. The rest of the class was, too.

Tony looked at the class, spotted Ned, and quickly scooped Peter into his arms. Peter didn't protest much."Well, on that note, bye bye. Feel free to stop by, Ted."

Peter pouted. "Its Ned, dad."

Tony froze for a second before grinning at the boy in his arms. "It sure is, buddy. Now let's go, your Auntie Tasha is making some soup for you."

They left quickly, Bruce trailing behind them.

Peter's class erupted into chaos, for the second time in minutes. Ned sighed, he really didn't want to deal with this right now. Or ever. He'd let Peter deal with it on Monday or whenever he decided to show up to school.

He looked over at MJ. "C'mon MJ. Let's go have lunch with Peter."

Mr. Litchfield was about to stop them, but FRIDAY interrupted.

"Natasha says that you both are welcome, and Boss has asked me to tell Mr. Litchfield to stop being a douche, because he has seen footage of his classes."

Ned beamed. "Thanks, Friday!"

So, the two teens left and left the food court in shambles. They had just discovered that Tony and Peter acted like a father/son duo, Peter was Spider-Man, got stabbed a lot, and was close enough with an assassin to call her 'Auntie'. So yeah, they wanted an explanation.

Ms. Grayson clapped her hands together in a desperate attempt to restore order. "Alright kiddos, twenty minutes left of lunch!"

The kids wheeled around. "We don't care about lunch right now!" They screamed, demanding answers.
