Chapter 1: The Boy in The Window
All children grow up, all except one.....
In 1901, a time of youth, timelessness, and distinguished elegancy in London, England, deep in the lovely Middle-Classed neighborhood of Bloomsbury, at the corner house lived a young 13 year old girl, Wendy Darling, who was quite different from other girls, her age, she enjoyed telling stories from classic fairytales to ones of her own, she had a head full of wonder, imagination, and ideas, and stories, and make believe, and she shared these picturesque stories with her little brothers, Michael and John, who absolutely love and adore Wendy's stories, that gave them such delight.
One night, the night, where Wendy's life would completely change forever, why you ask? Well, it all started, when she was doing her nightly routine of telling her brothers and their nursemaid dog, Nana, a story of her own liking "The Little Mermaid".
"Thus the little mermaid rose from the ocean blue all the way from the bayou and her single fin split miraculously into two feet, as she went to go claim her luxurious treasure back from the dastardly captain of the Jolly Roger, Hook, with his eyes as dark and sneaky as a snakes, and with a iron hook as sharp as the point of a knife, so sharp it could cut your gizzard right out, but alas the mermaid wasn't afraid for she was just as clever as he was." as Wendy was telling the story, John (9 years) grabbed a hanger left on their bedroom floor, started acting out the scene, and mocked "Even if she was just a girl?!", Wendy smirked and her smile perked up "Why, yes Hook, a girl, who's going to take back, what's rightfully hers", she said as she grabbed a play dagger and started play battling John/Hook.
The youngest, Michael (5 years) cheered and jumped up and down with delight "Go Mermaid, show that nasty pirate, who's boss!", and the two acted out the scenes, and paced all over the room, and jumped onto the bed. "Take that and that and...that!!", Wendy/Mermaid shouted after 2 times of trying to stab John/Hook as he dodged, but finally she stabbed him in his heart/under his armpit, "Ahhh, you got me, fair well...cruel....world.", he said under his "fake" last breath as he fell down the bed, and played dead, as Michael clapped astonished at the defeat of John/Hook, while holding his teddy bear.
Unbeknownst to them, there was a figure, that floated right outside their nursery window, watching and listening in amusement as the children played, but suddenly Nana, the dog noticed the figure, and got suspicious, but when she noticed the boy's eyes sparked up with life, she knew there was something up, and started barking, scaring the figure away, which alarmed the children, they went over to the window to see what was up, but there was nothing there, not a bird or even a leaf, just nothing. So the children forgot about it and continued their game for what troubles a grown-up could never trouble a child.
As the children continued their games, their parents came in, "Alright, children, time for bed, we must wake up fresh and ready for your M'Dear's visit from Wales, tomorrow." their father, George said all stern.
As much, George Darling loves his children, he was a very stern, pompous, and serious man, who is also a banker, who knows the cost of everything from the cost of his household to the cost of how much his mother, Sylvia/M'Dear would dote him on not properly discipling her grandchildren, as she disciplined him.
The children groaned "But father, Wendy was just about to get to the best part of her story!" Michael pouted, "Not another one of her silly stories!!" George mumbled under his breath as his wife, Mary giggled "Father's right, children, it's time for bed, and we certainly must give your M'Dear, a great, warm welcome, when she comes tomorrow."
Mary Darling, however was the loveliest lady in Bloomsbury with a gentle soul and a sweet mocking mouth that had one kiss on it... that Wendy could never get, though there it was perfectly conspicuous on the right hand corner of her beautiful chestnut skin.
The children sighed as they went to their beds and got all warm and cozy, as Nana helped each and everyone one of them get tucked them into bed.
Mary went over to kiss each of her children goodnight, as George just did a gentle wave, and left the room as the children fell fast asleep. Later on that very night, the same mysterious figure from earlier flew in through the unlocked window, and went over to Wendy as she was sleeping, he was mesmerized by her caramel brown skin, and her wild curly brown hair, she was unlike any girl, he ever meet, somehow she was very different, and she was very motherly.
As he watched Wendy, Nana woke up and spotted him again, she growled and barked, frightening the boy, while also waking Wendy, who only got a quick little glance at him as he quickly floated out of the window as Nana grabbed his shadow and pulled it right off, and he fell out the window, though that part, Wendy didn't see.
"Nana!!" Wendy cried, shocked, and worried that the boy got hurt from that fall, she slowly ran to the window, careful not to wake up her brothers, and look out the window, only to see that there was no body...as if he just flew away, enamored, Wendy thought it was a dream or her eyes were just simply playing tricks on her, but she couldn't brush off the fact, that just happened.
As she went to sleep again, that night, the question remained in her head...who was that boy?
