This cold January night.
Unable to hear all the arguments between her parents, Michelle put on a coat and left the house. The young woman went up to the roof, in order to have a certain view of the city. This sight soothed her, when she is sad or has a blues, MJ climbs on the roof and takes the area there in order to clear her head.
Spider-Man swinging in the skies of New York, since the Statue of Liberty incident and the Strange Curse, Peter has spent more time in his costume than in Peter Parker. His vigilante role clearing his head, since May's death and the loss of Ned and MJ, the latter was not doing too well.
Since seeing Michelle at work last month, the young man had made a habit of coming to see Jones through his bedroom window. As he walked towards his ex-girlfriend's building, he saw her on the roof. Without further ado, the hero rushed towards her.
Spider-Man: What are you doing on that roof on this cold January night? he asked confused.
Michelle: Hey...it's been a while. She said sadly.
Spider-Man: Are you okay? You look sad. He said sadly.
Michelle: Yes...I'm sad. She said sadly.
Spider-Man: What's Going On? he asked sadly.
The young woman took a deep breath, she did not take her eyes off the city and all the lights were on. She turned to the superhero...
Michelle: But parents are going to divorce again. She said sadly.
Spider-Man: Again? he asked confused.
Michelle: Yes. They were separated for a while. But during the eclipse and my disappearance they got back together. And there they are going to divorce again... She said sadly.
Spider-Man: I'm completely sorry for you MJ... He said sadly.
Michelle: And you? How has your life been since the Statue of Liberty? she asked grimacing.
He would like to tell her the whole truth, he would like to tell her that he is suffering from the death of May. That he suffers from the absence of Ned, that he suffers from no longer being with her.
Spider-Man: I patrol night and day. I watch over our beautiful and wonderful city of New York. He said smiling.
Michelle: Did you have a good holiday season? she asked, smiling shyly.
Spider-Man: I didn't make it past the holidays... He said grimacing.
Michelle: How? She asked confused.
Spider-Man: I ain't no family and friends. I'm alone... He said sadly.
Michelle: Oh...I see. And are you sad about this loneliness? she asked sadly.
Spider-Man: Everyday...but I'm getting used to it. He said grimacing.
Michelle: Have you always been alone? she asked grimacing.
Several memories of moments between him and May come to mind, moments between him and Ned talking about Star Wars, moments between him and MJ kissing and hugging.
Spider-Man: Nope. I was never alone... He said sadly.
Michelle: Where did they go? she asked grimacing.
Spider-Man: Some are dead, some are forgotten... He said getting emotional.
Michelle: Forget? She asked confused.
Spider-Man: Yes. But he forgot me because it was my will that they all forget about me. He said sadly.
Michelle: But why? She asked confused.
Spider-Man: For Their Own Goods. He said sadly.
Suddenly police sirens sounded. The superhero then understood that duty called him and that he would have to leave MJ for tonight.
Spider-Man: I have to go. He said sadly.
Michelle: Yes, I understand. Duty awaits Spidey. She said smiling.
Spider-Man: Yes. See you next time MJ. He said smiling.
Michelle: Oh and by the way... nice new costume. She said smiling.
Spider-Man: Thank you. I have to go, bye. He said before throwing himself into the void and swinging in the New York sky.
The meeting of Spider-Man on the roof this evening, had been able to return the smile to the young woman. She returned home with a smile.
