Michelle Jones was reading a book as usual, before going to sleep. Once her chapter was finished, the young woman closed her book, put it away on her little bedside table before turning off the light.

Suddenly she felt like a smell of wood fire, when near a fireplace. This smell now stinging her nose... she then got up from her bed to go take a look in any room of the house.

No signal of a fire upstairs. So she decided to go down the stairs to inspect the ground floor. But the closer MJ got to the kitchen, the stronger the smell became. It was when she arrived in the kitchen that she saw huge flames, burning everything he could find in the kitchen.

Fear then took over MJ... she remained paralyzed in front of the flames, which ravaged her kitchen. But once the young woman came to her senses, she rushed upstairs to wake up her mother and warn her of the fire.

Michelle: Mom! Mom ! Wake up. There is fire in the house. She said panicked.

MJ's mother: What? He said surprised.

Michelle: There's a fire in the kitchen. She said panicked.

MJ's Mom: Ok. Put on a jacket or a coat. As for me, I will call the fire department. Try to get out, I'll join you. She said calmly.

Michelle: What? No I'm not leaving without you. This is out of the question. She said panicked.

MJ's Mom: Sweetheart do as I tell you. Everything will be fine. Come on, Go on ! She said remaining calm.

Michelle then did what her mother had ordered her to do. She put on a jacket and walked out the fire escape. Luckily Spider-Man arrived and saw Jones trying to descend the fire escape.

Missing a step MJ almost fell, but the spider-man there caught up. Michelle was happy to see Peter there. The superhero threw himself into the void with Jones in his arms. The young woman now felt safe.

Spider-Man: MJ, are you okay? he asked panicked.

Michelle: Yes I'm fine. My mother is still stuck at my house. She said looking up grimacing.

Spider-Man: I'm going! He said before entering the building.

The more the minutes passed, the more the fire gained several floors. It was no longer Michelle's kitchen that caught fire, but several homes throughout the building.

Spider-Man was saving a lot of people from that fire, he was doing a lot of going back and forth in the building and out. MJ was very scared for her mother... she saw Peter saving everyone, everyone except her mother.

Spider-Man hadn't given any sign of himself for seven minutes now. Jones felt sick to her stomach... she wondered if something had happened to Peter or his mother. It wasn't until two minutes later that Spidey came through the door of the building, with Michelle's mom in his arms.

Michelle: Mom! She cried before joining Spider-Man and his mother.

The hero put MJ's mother on a bed in an ambulance... Peter lowered his head, a sign of defeat for him. When the young woman came up to her boyfriend, she saw him completely head down.

Michelle: Where is my mother? She asked worried.

Spider-Man: MJ I... He said before cutting him off.

Michelle: Where is my mother? She said dryly.

Spider-Man: In the ambulance... MJ your mother stopped breathing when I arrived. I'm sorry... He said sadly.

Michelle: No... no. She's not... She said crying.

Spider-Man: I'm sorry MJ... He said with his head down.

The young woman then began to cry bitterly... she had just lost her mother. She had just lost the woman who had given her life... she had just lost the only family she had.
