Cat after cat after cat

had that clan ran down

Trapped and tormented

Hunted and found

Killed

The puma, the panther, bobcat and more

Leopard and lion and cheetahs beside

For years on end the chase was real

Nobody could hinder the hunter's zeal

Furs for rugs, coats and trophies

Big cat skins shipped on oceans

Claws and teeth and even tails

The cargo under a pirate's sails

Now the dusk was falling fast

Into this world, Persuveus was cast

A hero in an age so dark

would now on his journey embark

In the twilight of the west

as stars rise on the scene

This resident stranger appears

to put an end to the years of fiends.

On the plain he walked as a man

but heard and felt a cry for help

He heard the low and moaning wail

of a wild and lonely yelp

Following the trail of tears

where his brothers led him on

Persuveus sensed a dread and fear

and knew his prey would be along

Lights in the distance rolled by

and the ground seemed to roll under him

Hurriedly he ran toward the commotion

He knew his fight would begin

He came upon the car and the men

They were looking for something they could not quite see

Rifles were ready in their hands

until they spotted the Bengal up a tree
