Appearances:

Prior to Book One: Anthony Stillwater, during entry training and initially upon arriving in Germany, till about Aug 1984, was a slightly baby faced young male, short reddish blond hair, green eyes. Stocky at 5' 6" and 155 lbs. He had wide front upper teeth (farmboy teeth), freckles on his face and arms, and green eyes. He had muscled shoulders, arms, and legs from hard work on farms and secondary activities.

Stillwater, prior to Book One, was usually smiling, talkative (out at Atlas) to his friends and co-workers. He often wrote poetry and drew fairies and flowers on the margins, giving it to Nancy Nagle.

At Book One, he's six foot tall and roughly 200 pounds (his weight varies due to hyperactive kidneys, liver, spleen). He's often remarked as looking like the love child of Billy Idol and Gary Busey. He's begun retreating back into silence with the apparent loss of his best friend.

Book Two: He's got scars on his upper lip from where it was split, his nose has a slight bend in the bridge from being broken.

Book Four: Stillwater has a few scars on his face. His left cheek has a scar on it that impinges on the nerve, causing spams that pull the corner of his mouth up in a 'tic'

Book Five: The only addition is a scar on the left side of his neck, where a bullet fired by his uncle almost sliced open his jugular.

Book Six/Seven: This is the largest departure. By this time Stillwater has an eyepatch on his left eye, scarring on his left cheek and temple from shrapnel. He's also begun walking with a slight limp.

However, there's another version that we see in Book Six: This version of Stillwater is eight feet tall, three feet across the shoulders. The left eye glows red in the dark. Blood covers his hands and drips to the floor.

Book Eight through Ten: Stillwater has accumulated a lot of damage by this point. His left leg is pretty much locked into a brace, his right shoulder is three inches lower than his left, he has scars on the left side of his face.

By Book 13 Stillwater's appearance is locked.

Stillwater stands six-foot even, weighing in at 200 to 215 pounds. He wears an eyepatch on his left eye and has extensive scarring on the left side of his face, including a scar that starts just in front of his left ear, moves under his left eye, onto the left side of his nose, where it drops straight down on the left side of his nose to the left corner of his mouth. He has two scars on the right side of his mouth over both lips. He's got a scar above his right eye, another scar on the left side of his neck. He's got heavy large hands, with protruding knuckles and long fingers (commonly referred to as 'strangler's hands'), thick legs. His teeth are white and even now (mostly because they've been replaced and he ends up with dentures in Book 15). He's imposing looking, heavily scarred across his chest, front of his thighs, face, and forearms. He has a scar that goes completely around his right shoulder, with a wide section in the middle.

He has a tattoo on his right shoulder of the III CosCom patch, done in black ink. Above the patch letters read: 2/19th S.G.W. Under the patch it reads "1984 - 1991" with under that "First 20 84 - Last Out 91"

He has another one on his right chest. A broken heart with a torn banner. The banner has blurred letters that can't be made out.

On his left shoulder (After 1984) he has a cross shaped scar. Prior to the scar he had a named tattooed on his shoulder "TERA STILLWATER" with the "TERA" part forming the left to right bar of the cross and "STILLWATER" forming the up and down part. Stillwater used his knife and a Zippo lighter to burn away the skin until he hit the fat and muscle to eliminate the tattoo after his divorce.

The Lizard

The lizard appears as a small reptile, standing on its back legs, with a long tail. It's green, with a stripe down its back that is blue (when it's mostly asleep), yellow (when it's paying attention), and red when it's fully active.

The little lizard often displays fangs during combat or high stress situations. Its black eyes are wide and alert. It has little fan shaped ears it flicks back and forth.

Its visualized as being in a control room of brushed steel. Behind it are old reel to reel computer cabinets (old 60's computers) that are a visualization of the more primal/childhood reflexes. In front of it are several consoles with doors on the front. On top of the consoles are levers, switches, lit up colored square buttons, sliders, and, of course, the big red button under a clear plastic shield with a square of yellow and black stripes around it. There are veiwscreens that show the geographic layout of the area Stillwater is in, an outline of his body where damage is highlights, a screen that cycles through his available weapons and equipment, as well as at least one monitor showing a nearby female in an approximation of what the lizard thinks they might look like naked.
