True Friends

True friends are hard to find, anyone who has any can tell you that. People lie and cheat and use you, and it can make you feel completely alone in the world. But then you find that one person, maybe you just met them and felt a connection, or maybe you have known them for years and all it took was to open up to them a little. Ive written about feeling alone before, and I still feel that I am, but I would be lying if I didn't say that I have those very few people in my life who will try to pick me up and brush me off when I feel down. My amazing cousin who will always be there for me through thick and thin, my best friend who has the decency to realize that they don't know what I'm going through, but still checks on me on a daily basis to make sure I'm still holding up. Not to mention my beautiful girlfriend who has been through some of the same things as me and worse, she always does everything she can to put a smile on my face; and last but not least, a very close friend who I randomly met by a silly argument on Facebook that later lead to one of the most important friendships in my life. Without realizing it this person has helped me through some very tuff obstacles over this past year, and now it's time for me to help them. I just home I can come through for them as they have for me. I do know what it's like to be completely alone and it isn't fun, nor does it make it easier. It was these few people that kept me from going down a dark path that is easy to get lost in and never return. I've seen it happen and wouldn't wish it upon anyone. No matter what you may be going through, or how alone you feel at the moment, just remember that so long as you keep fighting, I'm on your side, and you can always rely on me for support. You can win, but not alone.
