Chapter 41 - The Secret Is Out

DK's POV

"Seokmin, come on... You've been in there for hours now. I need to pee." I heard S.Coups knocking on the bathroom door. He has no idea what I've gone through but he's right, though. I have been in here for hours. I didn't want the boys to see me like this.

I kept thinking about what SuBin said to me. Questions kept running through my head. Did I do something wrong? Why would she wants to end our relationship? Does she not like my rice cakes? Come on, my rice cakes aren't that bad. Although, she did said that Hyemi's the one for me but why would she said that?

"Seokmin, are you ok in there?" I heard Hoshi through the door. I wiped my tears away with my sleeve as I washed my face. I opened the door and saw Hoshi and S.Coups looking at me weirdly. "Are you ok?" S.coups asked, getting closer to me to examined my face.

I slightly pushed him. "I'm fine, hyung. I'm just sleepy." I lied, walking pass them. I went to the bedroom and jumped on my bed. Woozi suddenly came in with his guitar as he sat on his bed next to me.

"What's going on with you? You've been all dozed off. Has something happened?" He asked, playing his guitar but stopped and wait for my answer. He isn't usually like this, he never seemed concern about me.

"I-I'm fine." I told him, letting out a sigh while rubbing my head with my palms.

He seemed to be focused on me. "I don't think you are. I bet something happened." He said.

"Really, nothing happened." I assured him, laying on my bed and pulled the blanket up to cover my face.

I heard Woozi sighed before walking out the room. Suddenly I got the urge to get out of this dorm and take a walk outside to clear my mind. I grabbed my coat and headed out the door. As I walked out, I saw Dino staring at me.

"Hyung? What are you doing out?" He asked, raising his brows.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"I was just taking out the trash," He told me. "And, where you going?" He asked me.

"I'm going to take a walk." I told him.

He grinned widely when I told him that I'm going out for a walk. He went closer to me, cheekily smile. "Can you please buy me a pie?" He asked.

I sighed in frusteration. "Manager hyung told you not to eat pie for a month, remember?"

"Oh, please~ I haven't eat any sweet things for a week now," he whinned. "I don't think I can make it without it. I think I'm going to die because of it."

I rolled my eyes at his nonsense statement. "Alright, I'll buy you a slice." I told him only to receive a bearhug from the maknae. "Thank you, hyung." He said. I chuckled, patting his head.

*****

It was dark. Despite that it was night time, not many lights in the streets seems to light up. I was kicking my foot up in the air as I walked. I was looking down, trying to figure out the mistake I made towards SuBin. I was heartbroken whenever I remember the words she said to me.

"What did I do?" I asked myself, hoping to get an answer from a mysterious voice up from the sky but yet there's no answer. I stopped my track when I reached to pasty shop to buy Dino his pie.

I walked in and went to the counter to buy a slice of pie. "Can I help you, sir?" I heard the girl behind the counter asked. I lifted up my head and looked at the girl. Wait a minite...

"Dohee?" I looked at her. She seemed shocked as well as me. "You work here?" I asked, staring at her. She was wearing a uniform. She smiled at me then bowed.

"Yeah. I do," She awkwardly laughed. "What do you want to order, Seokmin-sshi?" She asked. "I'll have a slice of apple pie." I said. She nodded her head as she told me how much it cost. I gave her the right amount of money.

She then gave me a slice of the apple pie in a small box. "Thank you." I bowed. "Kang Dohee. Your time is up. You can go home now." All of a sudden a middle aged man walked up to her. Dohee looked at him and bowed. "Alright." She said.

She took off her apron and grabbed her bag. "Are you going home now?" I asked, watching her putting on her coat. She nodded her head. I looked down to my watch and saw it was almost midnight. "Do you want me to walk you home?" I asked.

"No, thank you. I can walk home alone," she said but then stopped to think. "You know what, I don't want to be alone for now." She told me, causing me to grinned.

Both of us were at the bus stop, waiting for the bus to stop. She rides the bus? "I thought your brother have a car. Why are you taking the bus?" I asked, sitting next to her on the bench.

She let out a sigh. "My brother doesn't know that I work part time in a pastry shop," she turned to me and gave me a weak smile. "I don't think he'll let me if I told him."

I furrowed my brows, confused by her statement. "Why wouldn't he wants you to work part time?" I asked. She just shrugged. "I don't know, actually. I just want to earn money to pay back for all the trouble I caused."

"Oh." Was all I could say.

She turned to me and looked me in the eyes. "You know, Seokmin. You kinda remind me of someone... But I can't figure out who," She said, making me gasped. She raised her eyebrows and looked to the front. "I missed you, Seokmin. I don't really have anyone else at school who would want to talk to me like you do."

I cocked an brow. "What about the boys in your class? They seem to adore you."

"I don't like them. In fact, I don't like anyone in my class." She told me.

"O-oh..." I said. Does that mean she doesn't like Vernon and Seungkwan too? But why?

"The bus is here." She stood up, pointing at the bus.

*****

The bus ride was quiet since it was only Dohee and I riding the bus. Both of us didn't talk that much. I'm guessing she was tired of working. "Dohee, do you-" I turned my head towards her and saw her sleeping.

Oh, that's my she's being quiet.

I didn't even realized that I was staring at her. All of a sudden, my phone vibrated and saw a text from Hoshi. I read his text that says, 'where are you? It's getting late. You should be home right now.'

I was about to reply his text but then I felt a small movement coming from Dohee. I turned to her and saw her rubbing her eye with her index finger. "You're awake." I smiled at her.

She nodded her head. She looked sleepy and tired. "We're here." She said, standing up amd told the driver to stop. We got off the bus and I saw a small building.

"You live here?" I asked. She nodded her head again. "Yup. I live here with my brother." She told me. Her brother, huh?

"Looks like I'll be going now." I said to her. She smiled and waved at me. "I hope to see you again, Seokmin."

"Dohee! Where have you been?" I heard an angry voice yelling. I turned to look at the person and my eyes went wide seeing him.

"Jinyoung oppa? Why are you up?" Dohee asked as I saw Jr approaching her. He grabbed her wrist but I stopped him from dragging her.

He looked at me in shock. "S-Seokmin?" He questioned, letting go of Dohee. He turned to her. "Dohee, go inside. We'll talk later." He told her. Dohee did what he told her to.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me when Dohee was already inside of their appartment.

"I knew something was going on," I said. "She's Hyemi, right?"

He looked down, bitting his bottom lip. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"I think you do," I uttered. "You're hiding her."

He finally looked up to me. "I'm doing what's best for her."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, furrowing my brows. "You think by faking her death, might keep her safe. I know you're trying to show your fans that you tried your best to save-"

"I'm hiding her from you guys."

"What? Why?" I questioned.

"I don't want her to remember any of you. She'll suffer if she did." He answered.

"You mean, she lost her memories again?" I asked.

"She never did lost her memories in the first place," He mumbled but clear enough for me to hear. "I don't want to sound rude but can you please stay away from her. I really don't want her to be hurt."

"Why? Because you lied to her?" I was quite crossed at him. "Don't you think her real family would be looking for her by now?"

He looked away from me. "She doesn't have a family," He told me. "She's an orphan." He seemed to be struggling about something. "Just go." He said to me, coldly. He walked away, leaving me standing outside of the building of their appartment.

I have to tell the boys about this.
