3rd person POV:

(04/04/2XXX/ Evening)

Hearing the front door open, (Y/n) knew Mana had arrived.

Pen: Is that your guardian?

(Y/n): Shh!

Kicking Pen into his room and shutting the door, he made his way downstairs, where he saw his guardian, who had two boxes of Leblanc brand curry.

Mana: Hey. I brought dinner.

(Y/n): Oh, okay.

Mana: Sorry, I don't really have much in the fridge and I'm not a great cook.

(Y/n): I get it, I suck at cooking too. My dad would usually cook whenever he had the time.

Mana: He was a real Italian fan if I remember correctly.

(Y/n): You've tried his cooking?

Mana: Kid, he made me taste test everything when he first picked up the skill.

(Y/n): Really? How long have you know my dad?

Mana: Well... I... You know this curry is best while warm and fresh. So let's dig in.

For some reason, she avoided the question, however, (Y/n) was too tired to question her further. Instead, he took the meal upstairs to his room where he ate with Pan, relaxed a bit before resting.

(Opening theme)

(Y/n)'s eyes opened to the blue velvet office. Sitting on the edge of his desk was the woman called Mary.

Across from him sat the strange man called Igor.

Looking around, realizing this is actually real, (Y/n) finally noticed the music that was playing.

(Y/n): Is that... Disco?

Igor: Ah yes, Belladonna and Nameless are trying something new. I can't remember why tho...

Mary: It's better than the boring song they constantly repeated...

Igor: Ah yes, I remember why they decided to change things up.

(Y/n): Uh-huh...

Igor: Oh forgive me. Allow me to congratulate you on your awakening.

Igor: You have quite a powerful persona there.

Mary glances at (Y/n) however looks away anytime he notices.

(Y/n): So... Why am I here?

Igor: Well, as you might know, there's another world that exists.

(Y/n): Another world...?

Mary: The place that's black and white.

Igor: That world has been dubbed "The Usso". It's a place where lies in your world become reality in there.

Igor: Distorting people into shadows, this place is quite... How should I say this?

Mary: Bat shit crazy...?

Igor: Chaotic! That's it.

(Y/n): I kinda noticed.

Igor: Recently, however, The Usso has been slowly leaking into your world, which is causing several strange occurrences which most people are unable to notice at first glance.

Igor: I'm afraid if this goes unchecked, both worlds will collapse upon themselves, destroying both in the process.

(Y/n): That's hard to believe... Especially because of the disco music... But I'm currently open to believing the unbelievable right now.

Igor: Very good.

(Y/n): You've explained what's wrong but not why I'm specifically here.

Igor: It's quite simple... I am of need, of someone with your skills and capabilities...

Taking out a case file he slides it towards (Y/n).

Igor: I would like to hire you to find out what's causing the two worlds to fuse, and stop it.

Igor: We will of course aid you, in the services we provide which you will learn of in due time.

(Y/n): Hire me? That means you have something you plan on paying me with.

Igor:(chuckles) Why of course.

Igor: If you solve this mystery, I guarantee you will learn the truth of your father.

(Y/n):!?

(Y/n): You mean I'll learn what happened that night?

Igor: Why of course.

(Y/n): I'll do it.

Igor: What wonderful enthusiasm!

Igor: But I must warn you, it will not be easy. Many trials await you, that is guaranteed.

He looks towards Mary.

Mary:(sigh)

Mary:(unenthusiastically) If you are to overcome these trials, you are to form bonds with the people near you.

Igor: For you see, the power of persona will only grow if you do.

Igor: Anything you learn about the case, Mary shall update the file with.

Igor points at the case file he previously placed on the desk.

Igor: Sadly our time has come to an end for now. Until next time.

Everything faded to black. (Y/n) then awoke in his room.

(05/04/2XXX/ Morning)

(Y/n):(mind) I have a lot of work to do.

(Casual theme)

After getting ready, he walked downstairs, where he found Pen eating curry on the kitchen counter.

(Y/n): Why are you here and not In my room?

Pen: I got hungry.

(Y/n): What if my guardian saw you?

Pen: She didn't, I made sure.

(Y/n): How do you know it's a she?

Pen:(swallows curry)

Pen: Because I heard her voice when you talked to her yesterday.

Pen: Anyway, are we going to school?

(Y/n): I can't just bring you to school. Even if people think a penguin is a normal pet here, I still can't bring you along.

Pen: Right... I know! I'll hide in your bag.

Looking at his sleek, thin, leather briefcase, (Y/n) for some reason doubted that, but Pen insisted.

So after a few minutes, Pen was in his briefcase. They had to remove everything in it and it gained a penguin shape bulge, but Pen was in it.

(Y/n): This won't work.

Pen:(muffled) Oh fuck, I think I might be catastrophic!

(Y/n): You said that now after you stuffed yourself in there?

Pen-Pen attempt to get out but find he's unable.

Pen:(muffled) I'm stuck! Help me, mother fucker!

(Y/n): Really...?

With one good shake, he ejected the penguin out of his briefcase. Pen then agreed to meet (Y/n) on the school roof during lunchtime.

Parting ways, (Y/n) went to school. His day went somewhat normally if you ignore the strange occurrences riddling the town.

When lunchtime came around, (Y/n) went to the roof where he found Ryotaro and Pen.

(Y/n): Ryotaro? Why are you here?

Ryotaro: H-he k-kidnapped me...!

Pen: Stop exaggerating. I just dragged you here because I thought of something interesting that involves you.

Pen then went on to explain the lie world called Usso. (Y/n) already knew about the part where every lie changes the place and how it has been leaking into this world. What he didn't know was that the shadow they fought was Ryotaro's.

Destroying the shadow erased all the lies that people believed about him, however, with enough time a new shadow will probably be created.

Ryotaro: That's crazy!

Pen: Bitch, I'm crazy!

Ryotaro: You are?!

Pen: Like a fox.

Ryotaro: But I thought you were a penguin?

(Y/n): Ignore him. Pen, what was that idea you were on about?

Pen: Oh yeah. What was my idea?

Pen: Right. You know how the other world is leaking into this one. Well after hearing this guy's affair with the teacher, it got me thinking...

(Y/n): That the reason they are together is because of a lie someone told.

Pen: Yeah... You didn't need to finish my sentence for me and steal the credit...

(Y/n): You paused, I thought you just wanted me to finish it.

Pen: I had, what you would call a "brain fart"! It happens!

(Y/n): Jeez, sorry.

Pen: It's fine.

Ryotaro: W-we should be getting back to class Conan-Kun.

(Y/n): You're right. Let's go.

Pen: When you losers are done with school, then meet me back here. We're going to do some cool stuff.

(Y/n): Sure, what are you going to do in the meantime?

Pen: Gym class is coming up right? I think I'll figure out what to watch if you catch my drift.

(Y/n): Don't worry, I do.

Ryotaro and he leave.

(Y/n):(mind) I wonder how long it will take him to figure out that gym lessons currently take place indoors.

Pen:(in the distance) Come on pretty ladies~
