3rd person POV:

Ryotaro/Penguin/(Y/n): GHHAAAA!!

Penguin: Why are we screaming!?

Ryotaro: Monster!

Penguin: No, I'm a penguin!

(Y/n): How are you talking?

Walking up to the penguin, he picks him up, thinking he's some kind of animatronic.

Penguin: Yo, what the fuck!? What do you think you're doing!? Put me down mother fucker!

Realizing how real this penguin was, (Y/n) dropped him.

Penguin: Ow! My ass!

(Y/n): You're real...?

Penguin: Yes! I'm a real penguin! My name is Pen-Pen or that's what others call me. I prefer Pen or Big Daddy PP.

(Y/n): Pen...?

Ryotaro: T-that's the name of the school's mascot.

(Y/n):... Pen, where you the one in that costume when I saw a car bounce off of it?

Pen: Yeah-

Pen: Wait!? You saw that?!

(Y/n): Yes.

Pen: How...?

Pen:(mumbles) Did something drag you in...? Or maybe...

Ryotaro tried to leave, while they were talking, but Pen noticed.

Pen: Whoa whoa, where do you think you're going?

(Y/n): Huh?

(Y/n): Tch, Ryotaro! We still need to talk!

Grabbing Ryotaro by the wrist, he stopped him from escaping.

Ryotaro: Please let go!

(Y/n): Not until we talk.

Ryotaro: Talk to the Pen-Pen!

(Y/n): I'll deal with the penguin, later. So calm down and let's talk.

Ryotaro: There's nothing to talk about! There's nothing going on!

Color began slowly fading away.

Pen: Oh crap baskets...

Ryotaro: Nothing's wrong, I'm fine, I'm fine! Everything is fine!

The world becomes black and white. Both (Y/n) and Ryotaro lose all their color, except for Pen who still has his color.

(Opening theme)

(Y/n): This again...? What's going on?

Ryotaro: What happened to all the color!?

A figure then stood up where Ryotaro fell on.

(Y/n):(mind) A monster!?

Pen: Tch, should have known.

Pen: Let's make like trees and leaf.

Pen then began pushing the two out of the shed as the monster slowly began staring at them.

(Y/n): What is that thing?

Pen: A shadow.

(Y/n): What's a shadow?

Pen: It's a thing, I'll explain later.

(Crash)

The shadow crashed through the shed. The crash sent some debris flying at (Y/n) and Ryotaro, which knocked them to the ground.

The Shadow then summoned four horse like shadows.

Surrounded, Pen realized there wasn't any other option.

Pen: Looks like I ain't got much of a choice.

The horse-like shadows then charged at the three, however, they mainly focused on Pen.

Out of nowhere, Pen pulled out what looked like a leather badge and ID holder that police would use. The badge holder had some kind of symbol engraved on the outside.

Pen: Don...

Flipping the holder open to reveal a Justice arcana card and a magic circle-esque symbol.

In a burst of blue flames, another Shadow was summoned.

This Shadow that Pan summoned knocked all the horse like shadows back.

Ryotaro: A-another one!?

Pen: This ain't a shadow, this is a persona. Don, show these suckers who's the boss!

The persona then smashed the horses into each other. The humanoid shadow then swung its hammer at Don who swung his axe at it.

The two attacks canceled each other out and left them clashing.

Pen: Ugh... This guy is as strong as a hangover!

(Y/n):(mind) What the hell is going on...?

The horses then return with a vengeance, as they charge into Don from all sides. Pen was about to un-summon Don, but one of the horse shadows charge into him, knocking him back.

Pen:... Stupid... Crit...

He struggled to get up, as the humanoid shadow approached them. Its focus was on Ryotaro. Finally getting up as the shadow prepared to attack a prone Ryotaro.

(Y/n): Get away from him.

The young detective then punched the humanoid shadow in the face. Doing no damage whatsoever to it, the shadow responded by smacking him back the continuing to walk forward.

(Y/n) watched helplessly as the shadow raised its hammer at Ryotaro. Pen attempted to do something but the horse shadows got in his way.

Ryotaro: H-Help!

(Y/n):(mind) No!

(Y/n):(mind) Damn it, there's nothing I can do!

As the shadow swung down its hammer, time slowed to a halt.

???: One set back and that's it?

(Y/n):!?

(Y/n): What's going on? Who's there-

(Y/n): AGH!

Clenching his chest as his heart suddenly felt tremendous pain. The pain spread throughout his body.

???: You've allowed yourself to be fooled by lies...

(Y/n):(in pain) W...what are you talking about...!?

???: You were told that your father's death was an accident, but you knew there was something more, yet you allowed the lies to subdue your heart.

(Y/n):(in pain) Maybe...(grunts)... Maybe you're right, but there's nothing I can do about the past... Ack... So what do I do!?

???:(chuckles)

???: It's elementary my dear boy...

???: The past cannot be changed, so instead, change the future!

???: The present is covered with the clouds of lies and deceptions, which have stolen the colors of reality.

???: If you so desire... You can gain the light of truth to cast aside those horrid clouds and shape the future.

He stared at the black and white world. Going through the events that brought him here. Finally, he realized something. Realizing what he wanted, then he spoke...

(Y/n): What do I have to do...?

???: Form a partnership with me, and I will allow you to borrow my power. Do you accept this proposition?

(Y/n): Yes!

???: Very well...

Time began moving again. The shadow swung down its hammer, however, a sudden burst of power sent it flying back, while eradicating the horse like shadows.

Pen, Ryotaro, and the shadow stared at (Y/n) who was surrounded by blue flames.

Pen: No flapping way...

Looking at the hand that he used to clench his chest, he found a leather badge holder with a symbol on it.

A voice then echoed through the air.

???: I am thou... Thou art I...

???: With the realization of your true desire... Reveal to all your power!

Flipping open his badge, he then said...

(Y/n): Persona.

A persona slowly formed into existence as color bled back into (Y/n). When the Persona fully formed, it caused a shock wave that once again blew everyone back.

???: I am the deducer of truth! Sherlock!

(Awakening theme)

The shadow wastes no time charging at (Y/n).

(Y/n): I can tell your plan is as simple as your mind.

The shadow swings down its hammer only for Sherlock to catch the hammer with one of his hands then knock it back with his other hand.

(Y/n): End it!

Sherlock then blasted the shadow with a beam of light that sent the shadow crashing through the storage shed destroying it and the shed.

Color began returning to the world as (Y/n) walked up to Ryotaro.

(Y/n): Are you okay?

Ryotaro: You... Saved me?

(Y/n): I guess so.

Pen: What the hell!? I lived in that shed you asshole!

(Y/n):!?

Looking back at the shed, he saw how it was destroyed in the real world.

(Y/n): Oh crap!

Pen: I had beer in there... Why...

(Sirens)

Pen: Oh shit, the po-po!

Pen: Follow me if you don't want to be arrested.

Pen then tried to quickly waddle away.

(Y/n): Schools over for today, so let's scram!

Piking up Pen, he began dashing away.

Ryotaro: Huh...? Wait for me!

Ryotaro then ran after them as fast as he could.

(Timeskip)

Arriving at the park, the three stopped and sat down so they could finally discuss some things.

(Y/n): I feel like I just ran a marathon...

Pen: Awakening your persona takes a lot out of you. I'd offer you a beer, but I don't have any now!

(Y/n): How did you even get beer?

Pen:... Is there something else you'd like to talk about?

(Y/n): Actually... Yes.

Calming his breathing, he then looked at Ryotaro.

(Y/n): Talk to me. What is your relationship with miss Tekol?

Pen: That's what you want to ask, instead of the whole summoning a monster thing?!

(Y/n): I'll unravel that horrific mystery after I get done with something a little less complicated.

Pen: Whatever...

(Y/n): Go on...

Ryotaro: I don't know...

(Y/n): I simply wish to determine whether or not this is a healthy relationship.

Ryotaro: Okay...

He then began explaining his relationship with the teacher. It had started out a year ago as private tutoring since he was well known to be horrible at it, including sports.

Miss Tekol came to him with this offer, since she knew he needed help. She began tutoring him, but the relationship didn't become romantic until October of last year, or that was at least the time where Ryotaro noticed her advances.

As he explained to (Y/n), he was able to get a better understanding of Ryotaro's character. Shy, innocent, and kind-hearted to the point of being afraid of hurting anyone in any way.

Back to the story, Ryotaro explained how their relationship hasn't led to intercourse, yet. But from what he said, it seems like it's slowly escalating at an uncomfortable rate.

What (Y/n) found interesting was how he would talk about the relationship. Ryotaro would say it unenthusiastically.

(Y/n): Ryotaro, do you like her?

Ryotaro: I think so...

Pen: But?

Ryotaro: I... I still feel lonely. When she's around, I-it feels artificial.

(Y/n): Do you want to be in a relationship with her?

Ryotaro: It may feel artificial... But it's all I have.

Pen/(Y/n):...

(Y/n): Alright... Something's off, but you do what you want.

Standing up, (Y/n) slightly stretches.

Ryotaro: Where are you going?

(Y/n): Home. I'm too tired to do anything else right now.

(Y/n): And Ryotaro?

Ryotaro: Y-yes...?

(Y/n): If you need a friend... You can come to me.

Ryotaro: Really?

(Y/n): Yeah. See you tomorrow.

Walking away, Pen follows him.

(Y/n): Why are you following me?

Pen: You destroyed the shed I lived in, so it's only fair that I crash at your place.

(Y/n): Why not stay with Ryotaro?

Pen: I don't want to have to listen to him banging the teacher one night, It would be awkward as hell.

(Y/n): Then go make a nest or something.

Pen: Oh, really funny, make a nest because I'm a bird. Well, penguins don't make a nest you racist!

(Y/n): Yes they do.

Pen: They do? Shit, whatever. I can't bring ladies to a nest.

(Y/n): And you can't bring ladies to my place.

Pen: Find, but I am staying at your place, right?

(Y/n): No.

Pen: Fine, then I'll disappear and you'll never know about why everything is so weird.

(Y/n): Jeez, fine. But you're going to need to stay hidden from my guardian.

Pen: Don't worry, I'm great at stealth.

After arriving at (Y/n)'s house, they entered to find that Maia hasn't gotten back yet.

It made sense, she was the CEO of a company, so it would make sense that she might come back late.

Checking the fridge, he saw it in the same state as he left it.

Pen: This house is bitching! It was wise of me to choose you.

(Y/n):(sigh)

(Y/n): I'm ordering a pizza.

Pen: Cool, can we have anchovies?

(Y/n): If they are willing to put it on half the pizza, then maybe.

Pulling out his phone he quickly realized how he has no idea if there even is a pizza place in this town.

(Y/n): Hey, is there a pizza place in Jintou?

Pen: Uhh...

(Y/n): Leftover curry it is...
