Chapter 47: Plan

Xxx Early Morning Xxx

You yawn while you still put your white school shirt, mini plaid skirt and wrapped the blazer around your hip. Today gonna start school again. Lastly you wear knee high black socks and put your shoes.

“Rin,are you done?” Your brother ask as he put his glasses.

“Yep!” You answer and grab your bag and went downstairs.

“Morning.” Sojiro said as you noticed Futaba here too.

“Good morning Sojiro-san,morning Futaba-chan!” You approach her.

Her eyes widen when she look at you both. ”Ooh,a uniform!” She point out.

“School resumes today.” Ren-nii answer.

“I see.” She nod. “Rin really look cute when she wears that.“

“Aww Futaba-chan….” You replied shyly.

“You two, I made breakfast here." Sojiro place two curry rice on counter table.

You and your brother take a seat and begin eating.

'Sojiro-san curry really delicious.‘ You thought smiling as you eat.

“Futaba says she’s going to shift to living a morning person life.“ Sojiro said to we both.

“A healthy mission starts with a healthy lifestyle.“ Futaba replied with determine.

“Mission?”

As you still eating, you hear the news from the TV. The topics always mention about Phantom Thieves.

     “The government acknowledge the current rumors of the group called the Phantom Thieves. We are currently confirming facts with the police and wish to deal with it an appropriate.“

“Even the prime minister talking about the Phantom Thieves."  Sojiro sigh hearing the news.

“They’re allies of Justice, after all.“ Futaba smile.

“The change hearts, huh? I wonder if it’s true.“ Sojiro said as he turn to Ren-nii. ”Remember your situation and don’t say anything you’ll regret later.“

“Of course.“ Ren-nii replied as you both done eating.

“Thanks for breakfast Sojiro-san!”  You bowed.

“Good luck on your student duties!” Futaba exclaimed as we both leave the Leblanc.

Xxx Classroom Xxx

You take a seat waiting for homeroom start. You hear sound of Ryuji yawn behind you. You turned to your back to look at him.

“Still sleepy?“ You ask him.

He nod as he scratched his head. “Yean and I didn’t realise that the second term's already started.“

You chuckled. “Me too.“

“I think this every year, but isn’t summer vacation too short?“

“Totally.” You answer with nod.

“It’s like, it always ends right when you get used to life without school.“  He said before he continues again. ”Then again, I guess we had some fun things vthis year.“

“Uh-huh…“ You smiling when you remember the memories your summer holidays before homeroom teacher come in.

“All right, quiet down!” The class went silent and focused to teacher. “I’m sure you’re already aware, but the staff will deal with the media. Also, we've just gotten back from vacation, but starting next Monday is the school trip.“ She said making students happy hearing about it.

'School trip, huh?‘ You thought.

“Ok, settle down! That concluded homeroom.“

Xxx After school Xxx

Before we make our way to usual spot, Makoto told us that she also coming to school trip too.

“It’s great having you too Makoto.“ You replied, smiling as you guys finally arrived and seeing Futaba and Yusuke already here.

“There you guys are…“ Futaba sound relief seeing the groups.

“Futaba?Did you come here by yourself?“ Ann ask shocked seeing her here.

“I went to get her since I got out of school early. And I can’t denied of My Lady request.“ Yusuke answer as he looked at you.

“Ah,so Rin-chan ask you to pick up Futaba?“ Makoto ask as Yusuke nod.

“I just don’t want Futaba-chan come here alone. I’m scared what will happen to her…“ You said. “Sorry for trouble, Yusuke.“ You apologize to him.

“It’s alright.“ Yusuke smile.

“What a patronizing Inari…“Futaba frown.

“Well then,let’s get talking. Whadda we do now? Should we go after another big target?“ Said Ryuji.

“That’s important too, but what about that villain in the cognitive world?“ Said Yusuke.

Makoto nod. “It’s almost certain that this person exist. What’s more they’re including mental shutdown. We certainly can’t turn a blind eye.“

Ryuji scratched his head and sigh. “Yeah,but we don’t got any clues… But! You know how we’re popular right now? Everyone at school's talking about us, and not a day goes by when you don’t hear about it on TV either ! We totally made it big, don’t cha think?“

“True.” You replied, smiling.

“And the rankings on the Phantom Aficionado Website have been crazy too.“ Ann add.

“You meant this?“ Futaba showed the website that have ranking name’s on it.

“Huh?What the hell? First place… keeps changing by the second!“

“People are voting around the clock, after all.“ Futaba said.

“No way we could target the first place person, right?“

“True.”Yusuke agree.

“The next target is doable , but the main problem is the criminal in the cognitive world. They’re inducing mental shutdown. We certainly can’t turn a blind eye.“ Makoto said.

“You’re right, Makoto.“

“But,are you fine with that, Futaba-chan ? Even though it’s related to what happened to your mother?” You ask to her as everyone looking at Futaba, worrying.

“It’s not ok!I’m definitely gonna punch that guy!“ She gritted her teeth.

“Right.” Ren replied.

“Easy to say, but we ain’t got any leads.” Ryuji sigh.

Ann put her finger in her chin. “Not a one. We just know he’s out there…”

“Are there really no clues regarding those mental shutdown case?“ Morgana ask before he asking to Makoto. “If I remember right, wasn’t the older Niijima sister investigating it?“

“Yes… I can try and ask about it. But she’ll just tell me to mind my own business and get angry with me. It might be difficult.“ Makoto replied.

“If you can’t ask her, wanna just extract that data?“ Futaba ask.

“Eh?” Makoto bewildered .

“Does she have a personal laptop or something?“

“Don’t tell me…“ She gasp.

“I can lend you a storage device with my special gimmick on it.“ Futaba shows her USB. “Just stick this baby in and it’ll clone the internal hard drive! It’ll even bypass the OS password! You’ll have to plug it directly into her laptop though.“ Futaba said teaching Makoto the step.

“Whoa, that’s amazing Futaba-chan!“ You exclaimed.

“Can you do it?“

Makoto looked down. “Sis does bring her laptop home sometimes… but I’m not comfortable going that far.“ All of us looked at her hoping she want to do this.

“Are you scared of seeing how your sister truly feels?“ Yusuke asks as she noticed we staring at her.

“Fine… but don’t expect too much.“ She accept and take Futaba USB and put inside her bag.

Xxx Next Day XXX

Futaba: Did you get the date yet?

Makoto: No,my sister still hasn’t come home.

Ryuji: Mann,she seriously busy?

Makoto: Probably because of us.

Ann: So,uh …do you still want to go through with this?

Makoto: Yes,I can do it.

Makoto: Hold on,I have a message.

Makoto: It sounds like she’s in her way home.

Ryuji: All right! It’s finally time!

Futaba: My heart’s pounding.

Yusuke: Make sure to be cautious,ok?

Ren: It’s up to you.

Rin : Be careful, Makoto.

Makoto: Understood , I’ll report back tommorow.

Xxx Next Morning Xxx

Before you both went downstairs, the notification sound coming from your phone.

Makoto: I got it.

Ryuji: What’re you talking about this early in the morning?

Makoto: I extracted the data from my sister’s pc.

Ren: Well done.

Makoto: I’m not entirely sure I did it correctly though .

Futaba: Ooh, I’ve been waiting for this!

Futaba: Gimme,gimme,gimme.

Makoto: I have to head to school right now though.

Futaba: Whoops my bad!

Futaba: Bring it right after then.

Makoto: Okay.

After school we all gather at Futaba’s room.

“Here you go I think I did it right.“ Makoto give it back USB to Futaba.

Futaba grab the USB. ”Hehe,leave it to me.” She plugged it into her computer and began analyze at it.

“Whoa,you grabbed all these?Are they fro Hawaii?” Ann ask seeing paper and magazine about Hawaii.

Ryuji nod.”If we’re gonna lay low,we might as well enjoy it.” He said before he show me the picture inside magazine to me. ”Look Rin-chan! Gigantic sea turtle sight seeing in some beach.”

“That’s awesome.” You replied.

“Rin-chan ,look here.” Ann also show the pictures to you. ”Food more important than some turtle.”

“That’s look delicious.” You sure your mouth drooling seeing the food.

“Right.” Ann nod, smiling. ”You really don’t find steak this big and thick in Japan !Also mahi-mahi?Is that some kind of fish?Think it’s good?”

Ryuji frown. “What the hell Ann!? I’m gonna show her that!You interrupt our conversation!”

“Our?" Ann give a smirk to him as Ryuji hide his face realizing what he said.

“It seems that it’s the season for school all around.We’re going in our school trip as well.” Yusuke said.

“Where you guys going?” Ren ask.

“I believe it’s Los Angeles.” Yusuke answer.

“Whoa…”

“So we won’t be seeing each other for a while.” Morgana said with sad on his face.

“We’ll make sure to buy a souvenir for you.” Ann said.

“Ooh,here comes some interesting data.” Futaba said as we move to see her computer to look at it “This is just from a quick glance….But it says 'perpetracted' and 'connected'.“

“It means that mental shutdowns aren’t coincidence that this is case with culprit behind it.” Makoto explain it to us.

“Actually, it’s not just about people having shutdowns. Looks like she’s inferring that the psychotic breakdown incident are connected to the same case.” Futaba said.

“How long do you think it’ll take to analyze all of it, Futaba-chan?” You ask her.

“Hmm, there’s a lot, so it’s not happening overnight.But I’ll manage by the time you guys get back. I demand souvenirs from Hawaii and L.A from my reward.”  She said.

“I don’t really get all this, but you’re as amazing as always Futaba!” Ann exclaimed. ”I guess it’s called an information way? It’s so high tech and modern,it kinda remind me of a movie.”

“Well,we should continue this when we get back from the trip!”Ren inform as we all parted away.
