Chapter 40: Futaba's Room

XXX Inside Futaba's Palace XXX

Next Day

As you guys explore this Palace,you guys stop inside the room with have some big picture on the wall.The picture suddenly shining making you guys stop and stared at it.

"An adult seems to be reading something to a crying child?" Fox said as you still staring it."The emotions of the artists certainly some though.I can sense...serous pain harbored on her heart."

"I should never have had Futaba..." A voice coming from that picture.  "She was always such a bother... It seems you caused your mother a great deal of trouble,Futaba-chan.She must have had some kind of maternity neurosis."

"What's this about?"Skull questions.

"They're reading some kind of suicide note.. ." Queen answer. "Could that be what Futaba remember of her mother suicide."

"Then ain't that a sick thing to do to a kid?"

"Futaba..."You mutter as a light clear the picture and you can see the path ahead.

"A passage.."

"Let's go." Joker said.

You guys proceed ahead until arrived another room with a picture on the wall but it's a different this time.

"Now it's a picture of someone jumping in front of a car?" Says Queen.

"Could it be the moment of the suicide?" Panther gasp.

"Futaba!" A woman voice scream. "You are...!" You cover your both ears hearing that high pitch voice.

"This happened right in front of Futaba's eyes." You muttered.

"This is the origin of her warped heart. From this point on, Futaba came to think if her mother's death as being her fault." Fox replied.

"That's terrible..." You place your hand on your chest,looking down as you feel a hand ruffled your hair.

"Until we reach the Treasure,we won't know her true heart." Joker said as he comfort you. "Let's move on."

Now you guys moves to the next area.This time another different picture we found.

"Mom, I'm tired of eating dinner alone all the time.I wanna go somewhere.Take me on trip!"Futaba voice said .

"Futaba..."

"Don't be selfish!You know I'm working hard to support you , right?Dammit!" Her mom answer with mad.

"Maternity neurosis...It built up inside of Futaba's mother then..."

"It's normal for a child to want attention...." Panther said.

"I...I must die..." Futaba voice say. "I killed her... That's why I'm i n this tomb..."

"Don't say such stupid things!" Panther shout.

"I'll die ..." Then another path open .You saw Queen put her hand on Panther shoulder with concerned on her eyes.

You made to the big door has with has 'Caution' sticker and with 'Do not enter' stick on the door.

"Hm?This door ...." You put your finger on your chin as you look that door.v'Why it does look familiar?' Then suddenly click on your mind. "It's Futaba's room!" You exclaimed.

"We're obviously not supposed to go in." Skull sigh seeing the door won't open.

"It must be her cognition that no one can enter it." Mona say.

"I'm surprised that you made it this far." You all turned and saw Futaba Shadow appeared. "Beyond lies the Pharaoh's chamber."

"So the treasure through here?" Skull questions her.

"Indeed.However,you need my permission to open this door."

"Then open it for us."

"I cannot. You must have her invite you in."

"What the hell? Ain't this your palace?"

"What's she mean,Mona?" Panther ask.

"The shadow is Futaba, but not Futaba herself .In other words,we need the real Futaba's permission." Mona answer.

"So we need to have Futaba-chan open her room and let us in?"

"Considering that you made it all the way here,you may be able to do it... You've opened many doors up to now,after all." Futaba Shadow look at you guys.Then she vanished.

"Looks like we'll have return to reality once." Queen said.

"You think she'll just open the door to her room for us?"

"Yeah, remember Sojiro-san saying that she won't let anyone in..." You mention.

"We should try,even if we have to force ourselves in."

"We have no choice to sneak in again." Fox said."After all, we're Phantom Thieves."

"Yeah."

"Oh,Queen, help me think of what to write on calling card." Skull said to her.

"I suppose..." Queen nod.

"We got this, alright guys?" You said to the groups as all of them nod.

"We're definitely gonna get the treasure." Joker said.

XXX Next Day XXX

We succeed sneaking Sojiro-san house again this time. We have to let Futaba open the door and invite us in.

Ann knock the door. "Futaba-chan, you're in there, aren't you?Please answer, Futaba-chan!" But no answer.

"Let me try Ann." You said."Alibaba,we know you're there.It doesn't matter if it's through chat messaging.Just answer us."

You can hear the vibrate from Ren-nii's phone.You saw she messaged again this time.

A: Alright. You should've told me you were going to come here.

"Please let us in your room!" You said.

A: Now?

A: This is so sudden.

A: I'm not mentally prepared!

"Reply it Ren-nii." You say to your brother.

R: We met the other Futaba.

A: What?

R: She told us to have you open the door.

R: You're the real Futaba .

A: Who does she think she is?

A: It's locked.

R: But you must want to open it.

R: Open the door.

Then you guys saw the door been open slightly.

"Alright, let's go in..." You all enter her room.First thing you saw that a computer on table,a mini refrigerator,the bed,closet and has a lot of books on floor.You careful not to step on it.

"This room is a mess." Yusuke complaint.

"Medical science, information technology,biology, psychology...These are all technical books..." Makoto reads the books titled on the floor.

"Where's Futaba?" Yusuke ask looking around.

"Futaba-chan!"You called her name as you hear a noise coming from closet.

"She'll shut herself in to the bitter end,hm?"

"Even if that door's opened up we'll get stopped again inside?" Morgana said.

"Th-This make no sense!Explain yourselves!" You hear her voice.

"Whoa ,she talked..."

"We needed to change your cognition.Unless we do so,we can't steal your heart." Makoto said.

"Why won't you just be honest with yourself?!" Ryuji sigh.

"Futaba-chan..." Ann put her hand on closet. "I get it.Asking someone for help isn't that easy...And you really kinda remind me of my friend here." Ann looked at you."But you have to stop running away because of it.Don't talk about dying!"

"Have faith in us." Ren-nii said.

Suddenly the closet door open and reveal it herself with a pose both her hand raising up.

"Th-There!Now steal it!"

You guys still surprised look at her in weird actions.

"Uh..."

"C'mon.Hurry it up!" She exclaimed.

"All you really had to do was open that closet door."

Her eyes widen."I-I see..." She walked back to closet and close the door again.

"What's the meaning of this?!Did you guys trick me?"

"No!Please listen! There's a reason we had to do this!"

"It seem she doesn't understand how change of heart occurs."Morgana said.

"Then she doesn't know about the Meta-Nav either?"

"No way..."

"We use it to get to the Palaces." Ryuji say.

"If we enter keywords for a name,a place ,and a distortion-"

"Shh."

"Let's check that door again." Yusuke inform.

"Yeah!"Ren-nii replied as you guys about to leave the room,Ryuji slid the card into the closet.

"Hm?A calling card?" Futaba voice ask.

"It's the one you prepared.Read it."

"I can't read it.It's too dark." She replied.

"You could just come out, Futaba-chan." You said.

"It's embarrassing..." She replied again.

"What..." You scratched your head as Ryuji chuckled hearing that.

"I'll make sure she reads it,so go on ahead." Morgana informed.

"Futaba-chan,make sure you read it,okay?"

"Okay."

"You know Boss right about her , her looks really like you,Rin-chan." Ryuji said to you.

"Me?" You point to yourself as Ryuji pat your head .

"Yeah.Anyway we need to go now." Ryuji leave the room.

"We're counting on you Futaba-chan." You leave the room and ready to go her Palace now.

I'm posting this chapter because Futaba's birthday today 19 Feb.But I rush too much in this chapter,so it's kinda lame,really sorry though.
So Happy Birthday to her 🎂
