Chapter 37: Medjed

    "To the Phantom Thieves causing an uproar in Japan.Do not speak of your false justice.We are the true executors of justice.However,we are magnanimous.Phantom Thieves,if you agree to a change of heart,we will accept you as our own.We are Medjed.We are under.We will eliminate evil.If you reject our offer,the banner of justice will find you."

Makoto just finish read the website from Medjed .

'Medjed huh....?' You thought.

"Easy for them to say." Ryuji frown.

"It's all over the net."Ann said as she look the website too."They in considerately rile people up.The creeps."She comments.

"Like we'd listen to some jerks we're never met to join them." Ryuji said.

"The news said they're an international hacker group,remember?" Said Morgana.

"Technically , they're crackers." Makoto comments. "Those who use the internet to illegally access and alter data . Medjed is such a group regonized by the larger international community." Makoto show the post to us.

"Medjed's original inspiration was an evil God from the Book of the Dead." Yusuke voice said from Ren-nii's phone.

"I guess at first they uncovered corporate fraud." Ann looks at her phone. "But eventually,they used the info they found to threaten companies.Though they haven't been very active until this...."

"Not ringin' any bells." Ryuji respond.

"Same here.We probably don't have to worry too much." Ann replied.

"I agree."Makoto said . "And it's not as if they know our identities."

"I guess it's fit we'll be fine for now." You said as your brother nod.Then you guys heard the bell ring . It means the lunchtime over.

"Well see ya,Yusuke." You said through the phone.

Xxx After School Xxx

Ren-nii told me to accompany him after school . He said he needs go to clinic for check up.While waiting for him,you and Morgana talked for a while . After 10 minutes you hear the door been open and you see your brother already done . He take a seat beside you and he leaning on it. Ren take out his phone as he see the logo appeared on his phone main screen .

"What is it , Ren-nii?" You look at his phone.

"This logo . . . "

"Just click it." You said as Morgana climb on your shoulder.

Ren click the logo and direct to message .

Unknown : Nice to meet you , leader of the Phantom Thieves .

You both shocked after seeing that message .

Unknown : I am the one called Alibaba .

Unknown : Did you like my jingle during class today ?

You curious as your brother told what happen before at his class this afternoon .

"What's wrong?" Morgana ask as he also read the message.  "Alibaba?Who's that?"

You shrug . "We don't know too,Mona-chan."

Unknown : It seems you've drown the attention of a formidable opponent .

Unknown : Medjed .

Unknown : I could provide info on them.

Unknown : Then you would be able to get rid of them .

Unknown : This is all I can prove at the moment .

Unknown : But you'll be able to take care of Medjed .

Unknown : However,that's if we make a deal .

Unknown : I don't mind if you tell your comrades about me .

Unknown : After all , it has to be unanimous with your group , right ?

"A deal?My comrades?" Ren-nii read those text .

"They even know we decide on things unanimously..."

Unknown : I've prepared the necessary tool on my end .

Unknown : Look forward to it .

"Necessary?"

Unknown : There is someone whose heart I would like you to steal .

"Try asking 'who are you'?" You said as Ren-nii sent the message it came out error.

"It can't send."Ren-nii told.

"Can't reply back?" You said as Ren-nii try many times get the same results.

"We should probably let everyone know about this tomorrow."Morgana said as you both went home.

Xxx Next Day Xxx

You both told everything about yesterday. Ren-nii shows his phone to let the others reads the message .

The others shocked after reading that.

"They know everything about us!" Ryuji exclaimed.

Ann put her finger on her chin. "Steal someone's heart, 'unanimous'...how do they know?"

"My guess is that they may have traced our chat log." Makoto said.

"It's definitely something a hacker would do." Yusuke said.

Ann gasp . "Then,is this person Medjed?"

"What?They said they'd 'deal' with them."Ryuji replied. "They obviously enemies."

"I know,but . . . Maybe they had a falling out or something ."

"Can you send a message?" Makoto ask Ren.

"I get an error every time I try." Ren-nii replied.

"Perhaps the receiving end doesn't exist." You add.

"This is kind of scary . Accounts being hacked." Ann looked down .

"Wait , does that means ours,too?" You put your hand on your mouth.

"That's very likely." Makoto said."Anyway,let's be careful using our phones. Important matters should be face to faces."

"We shouldn't give our unknown intruder any more info than we already have." You all nod.

"Let me see it once more." Yusuke said to Ren as Ren shows the message again .

Yusuke read those text again . "What is this 'necessary '?"

"Not sure."Ren-nii answer .

"Well we'll just go back now."  Makoto said you guys parted away.

Xxx Evening Xxx

When you both arrives at Leblanc,Sojiro-san still here .

"Oh,you two back."He said. "A letter came." He shows the envelope to us . "Addresses to Ren,weirdly enough."

You saw your brother name writing in front of that letter .  'MR.REN AMAMIYA.'

The Sojiro-san close the shop and leave.

You both going upstairs and Ren-nii still staring at the envelope .

"Open it Ren-nii." You said as Ren take out something from it making you surprise .

"That!" You point it .

"Same like ours . Hey you both really need tell the others again tomorrow." Morgana said as you both nod.

Xxx Next Day Xxx

After school

You guys plan to meet at karaoke place to discuss about that envelope last night . Ren place the calling card on table.

"A calling card?"

"It's from Alibaba?"

"Maybe." Ren-nii answer.

Yusuke hold the card and inspect it."It doesn't look suspicious."

"No stamps or sender's name." Makoto said. "Someone must've delivered it directly."

"Are we supposed to use this?" Ryuji point the card .

"Dunno . . . "

Suddenly there's a message came from Ren's phone . Ren's look the message and say it's from Alibaba .

"What?!" You guys join to look .

Alibaba: Did you get what I sent you?

Alibaba : Now steal that heart .

"Steal ? What are they talking about?"

"We can't do that when we don't even know the target's name."

Alibaba: Ready to go ?

"What should we do?"

"But if we can't message them back..."

Alibaba: Tell me why .

Alibaba : I've set it so you can respond .

"Reply it Ren-nii."

Ren: Who are you ?

Alibaba : I'm Alibaba .

Alibaba: Don't waste my time with meaningless chatter .

Alibaba: Aren't you able to steal a heart as long as yo have a calling card ?

Alibaba: Tell me why you're unable to do it .

"I think they've got the wrong idea." Ryuji said.

"Tell'em . We need the target's name."Morgana told .

Alibaba: A name ? You can't do it if I don't tell you ?

Ren: That's right .

Alibaba: I see .

Alibaba: I suppose past calling cards did have names on them .

Alibaba: One moment .

Alibaba: Very well , I'll tell you .

Alibaba: The target is Futaba Sakura .

"Futaba Sakura ? "You said that name .

Alibaba: Okay , I told you the name .

Alibaba: Now change her heart .

Alibaba: If you don't do it . I'll expose your identity to the public .

"Go public ? "

"Now they're threatening us?!"Ryuji said.

"First of all , we can steal Futaba Sakura's heart if she d oesn't have a palace . "Yusuke said.

"We also need a location and a keyword for the palace."Makoto remind.

"Tell them that."Morgana said to Ren-nii.

Ren: Does Futaba have a palace ? What's a keyword about it ?

Alibaba: Palace ? Keyword ? What does a palace have to do with it ?

Alibaba: I don't know anything about that . Are you just saying random stuff to dodge the issue ?

"Looks like they don't know about our methods."You said.

"Ask if we could meet her."Morgana said.

Ren: Could we meet ? We want Info .

Alibaba: Meet ? With me ?

Alibaba: That will be difficult .

Alibaba: I can't go out .

Alibaba: That's why I'm contact you like this .

"They can't go out ? "Ann respond.

Alibaba: Wait .

Alibaba: I get what you mean .

Alibaba: You steal people's heart directly , huh ?

Alibaba: That's difficult . Extremely difficult .

Alibaba: Hold on . I'm thinking . . .

Alibaba: It's a shame , but I'm calling the deal off .

You all surprise read that .

Alibaba : Stop looking into Futaba Sakura .

Aliba ba : Forget this ever happened . I won't report your iden tities .

Alibaba: Sorry for taking your time .

Ren-nii rushed to reply back .

Ren: Wait < ! >

But the sending was error .

"What's going on here?"

"It seems the sending address was deleted." Makoto said.

"Then we don't have to steal Futaba Sakura's heart?"Ryuji wonder about that.

"Guess not ."Makoto answer.

Ann said that she heard that 'Sakura' name before .

"That's the family name of Leblanc's boss." Yusuke answer as Ann gasp.

"Maybe Futaba Sakura is boss's relative?" Ryuji ask.

"Does that sound familiar to you both?" Makoto turned look at we both as we just titled our head a little.

"Hm?"

"You two , show some interest.I mean,you two livin' there . Weren't you guys introduced at least?"

"Maybe due to circumstances , it's hard for him to bring it up." Yusuke said as he put finger on his chin.

"What circumstances?"

"I don't know."

"Is this the end of the Alibaba affair?" Ann said as you looked down,sigh .

"Probably.They said the deal was off." Ryuji  answer .

Then we all dismissed .

When we arrived at Leblanc you and Ren-nii saw a same woman that has long grey hair seems talking to Sojiro-san.Then Sojiro-san seems argue her back .

"Then I'll contact you at a later date." The woman leave .

"Scatter some salt !" You taken back when Sojiro-san suddenly shout . "That woman is real good at kissing people off..." He sound angry as you both s tared at him.

"What is it?" He glare at we both .

"She said Futaba . . "Ren-nii said .

"This doesn't involve you both . "He point to us . "Just behave yourself and go to school if you don't want me throw you out!" He yelled making you cling closer to your brother , afraid seeing him like that .

His eyes widen when he saw you . "I'm sorry." He sigh . "Close the shop now ! I'm out." When he walked past you both,he glanced at you and giving sad smile then he leave.

"You alright?" Your brother ruffled your hair . "You know he didn't mean it right ? "You nod .

Ryuji: Domestic Court ?

Makoto: To decide custody issues , right ?

Ann: Why would the Boss have to do something like that ?

Ryuji: And abuse ?!

Yusuke: I can't believe it . Not about him .

Ren: She mentioned termination of parental authority .

Rin : Parental authority .

Yusuke: Then it seems clear that Futaba Sakura is Boss's child .

Makoto: There's no guarantee she's the same Futaba Sakura that Alibaba mentioned about it's all starting to fit .

Ann: But if we're supposed to change her heart , wouldn't she be the one doing the abuse ?

Ann: I wonder why Alibaba wanted us to steak Futaba's heart .

Ryu ji: Can't you both ask about that ?

You remember when Ren-nii say Futaba name , he seems angrily about it .

Rin : That could be a little difficult .

Makoto: Does he seem like the type who's capable of abuse ?

" He's not like that . "You mutter .

Ren: I can't imagine him like that .

Yusuke : Me either .

Ryuji : Ditto .

Ann: Me either .

Makoto: Same .

You and your brother smile reading that . You r lelief when your friend don't think him like that .

Ren: Thank you .

Rin: Thank you .

You saw your brother laying on bed .

"Ren-nii?"

"I'm tired . "He closes his eyes . It seems he falling asleep.

You place blanket on him as you turn off the lamp and laying beside him .

"Good night , Mona-chan."

New chapter and sorry for long to update.Work makes me stressed so much,but when I played P5 and watching P5A I can make myself calm and relief the pain away.(✷‿✷)
