Naoto stepped into our classroom right weh we started getting ready for lunch. Dang, she must be a fast walker... "Excuse me. Do you have time after school today?" She asked as Chie tilted her head, "Did something happen?". The younger girl shook her head, "No... Rather, I'd like to have a doctor examine Teddie." Examine Teddie? Now that I think about it, we know nothing about that bear. It might be a good idea to at least get a... bear-ing on what he is. Hehe, bear puns are fun to make sometimes. "A doctor?" Yosuke quizzed, "You mean a vet?" Yukiko? You can say the funniest things sometimes. But let's get one thing straight, he's not a pet. "The normal kind, actually. If you're free, I've scheduled a checkup for him after school today. A thorough physical examination might be a good first step in figuring out what Teddie is. And I thought it might be a good idea for the rest of us to get checkups as well. We should see if the fog over there or the power we've gained have had any negative effects on our health. Since you all have been active on the other side far longer than I have, you should definitely be examined." Crap... We have been going in and out of that world without thinking about the consequences...

Yosuke jumped, "Negative effects!? D-Don't drop scary stuff on us like it's nothing... Yeah... I never even thought about that." We should've, though... "I've arranged to have Kanji~Kun, Rise~San, and Ryuto~Kun looked at as well." Yeah, we should all get checked. Just in case it is something bad. "Wow, you're on the ball about all this... Are you sure you're not an adult?" Chie praised, "Her height's a big giveaway, though." Naoto glared at the light brunette boy as I slapped the back of his head. "What was that f--" He looked down at me and realized what he just said while in the presence of me, someone who's around Naoto's height. The bluenette smiled to herself, "Well... I'll see you all after school.".

~Timeskip~

The checkup didn't take long, it was just taking our height, weight, measurements, and every other normal examinations doctors do. "That was just an ordinary checkup." What did you think it was going to be, Yosuke? "I was kinda looking forward to getting into some gigantic machine and being spun around." This isn't a sci-fi world, you two... "Was there really a point to this? The doctors looked confused too..." Nothing wrong with getting checkups. Yukiko pointed behind me, "Oh, they're back." Turning around, I saw Naoto walking with an energetic Teddie. "Mistress! I was a good bear to the doctors, do I get a reward?" He ran up to me as I ruffled his hair. Teddie purred against my hand with a contented smile on his face. "So did they find out anything about Teddie?" I'm curious too, there's no way Teddie's normal, right? "They did indeed... They found out that they can't tell anything about him. I even had them take an X-Ray, but nothing came up on it. No matter how many times they tried, it would always be too blurry to read. A visual examination and standard palpations indicated that he seems perfectly normal. Since the machine could be malfunctioning, they told me to try another hospital if we're still worried about him. I felt bad for making them go through all this..." I knew it. That still doesn't change the fact that Teddie is still a sweety.

Yukiko thought to herself, "So, he is different..." I mean, why would you make of him? "Oh my, what should I do? They took a look at everything inside me." He still needs to get his way of speaking changed, he can't say things like this in public. "She just said they couldn't see anything on the X-Ray, you dork." Chie sighed. Kanji tried being positive, "But at least they didn't find anything wrong with him, right? Man, we know about as much about Teddie as we do those Personas and Shadows..." Both are very true. What are the powers we possess? And what are Shadows? Why is facing your Shadow a way to gain a Persona? How did I awaken my Persona if I ever encountered my Shadow? We still have so many unanswered questions... "Oh yeah, I tried looking them up at the library and on the net. Persona means something like, another personality. And I think they listed 'Shadow' under the related terms..." Huh, interesting... "Shadows are Shadows... I think they're something that comes out of people... Um, I can't really explain..." I don't blame you, Teddie.

Naoto spoke up, "I performed my own research after the incident. 'Persona' and 'Shadow' are common psychological terms. Of course, the ones we are familiar with don't quite fit those definitions. This is what was written in an unofficial project document that I happened to come across. A Shadow is suppressed power, and when controlled by one's ego, it becomes a Persona..." Wow, that sounds really accurate to what's going on with us... Have the events we experienced, also been experienced by others? "It becomes a Persona...? What, does that mean they're basically the same thing? Then again, all those Shadows we beat the shit out of did turn into Personas... Ahh, who cares about the details... It doesn't matter what they are. If they get in our way, I'll crush 'em." That's one way to deal with them, Kanji. Naoto sighed, "Still, I couldn't find any information on how they're related to the other world." I'm not surprised. I'm pretty sure that if that world was well known, it would be on the news or kept quiet. Rise sighed, "There's so much stuff about us that we don't have a clue about...".

A smirk grew on Teddie's face, "There's some things we do know, though. Hmhmm... I got a bunch of awesome data with me. It's kinda embarrassing that I'm the only one who had personal details shown to the world, so... Ta-daaa! Nowadays, information wants to be free! Therefore, I'll break the ice by announcing the results of everyone's physical exams!" Our what now? "Wha--!? No you won't! Give 'em to me, NOW!" Chie started chasing Teddie as he started reading it out loud, "Ooooh... First place in the 'shortest legs division' is... Huh, who woulda guessed!?". "I-It's not me, is it!? Hey, what kinda things did they examine, anyway!? Look... If you're gonna blab it all... You might as well tell us the girls' measurements, especially Yui's!" HUH!? Chie got mad at Yosuke's words before I could react, "WHAT!? Are you a complete and utter moron!?". Rise took hold of Teddie, "Sure, go right ahead. My profile's been public knowledge for ages. Oh, but my bust size is 2cm smaller than they print. My agency insisted." before looking over the files. Yukiko and I tried to stop them from reading our results while Chie was busy yelling at Yosuke with Ryuto, and Rise chuckled at us.

"Aww, I bet guys won't care what size you are, Senpai. And having modestly sized breasts like yours would definitely make it easier to wear a kimono." Those words made Yukiko flustered while Rise looked at me, "And Yui~Senpai, I never knew your hips were this wide!". My face flared red as I looked down at my hips. "No wonder you got nice legs, Kitty." Ryuto wrapped his arms around my waist while teasing me, "Sh-Shut up, Ryu~Chan!" I pushed him away while punching his arm as he just laughed. "Yo, what's Yui's measurements, Rise?" Yosuke tried peering in on the files but I was able to stop him with an elbow to his stomach. "Got it... Won't ask... Again...!" He grunted as a soft giggle escaped my lips.

Rise continued reading. "Hey, Naoto~Kun's is in here too, huh? Umm, let's see... Naoto~Kun's is... Is this... for real? Wait, isn't this measured wrong?" Huh? What's she talking about? Naoto's eyes widened before snatching the papers from Rise, "A-Anyways! The important thing is that according to the examination results, nothing's wrong with our health! So we won't be needing these anymore! I'm going to go shred them!" and ran off. I... I think I can guess what's in those files... But it's not my business to think about it anymore. "Uhhh... Well, thank goodness everyone's healthy!" Yosuke awkwardly chuckled as Chie joined him, "Y-You're right! Let's go home!". We were about to leave, but I noticed Teddie stayed behind. "Hey, what's up, Teddie?" I asked, "After all that, they found out nothing about me... I wonder what I really am..." Teddie... I placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled. "We'll find out together, I'm here for you!" He smiled back with a slight blush, "Yeah... Thanks, Mistress!". Heh, he's still adorable.

Yosuke peered over the corner, "Heeeey! If you guys don't hurry, we're gonna leave you guys behind!". Teddie and I shared a giggle before I took his hand and chased after the others. Rise asked if she could walk me home as Ryuto allowed it. When we got home, Nanako was upstairs in the shower. " Hey, Rise? Do you wanna join us for dinner? Dojima's probably not gonna come home tonight so--" I was cut off by Rise pinning me to the wall. "R-Rise...!" Her face grew closer to mine, "Rise!" My voice pulled her out of her trance and look at my face that was full of terror. "I..." Tears welled up in her eyes, "I'm sorry!" She yelled before running out of the house. Rise... I don't know why but.... I could sense that she was in pain... But why...? "Big sis! Are you home?" Nanako walked down the stairs and smiled when she saw me. "H-Hey Nanako! I was just about to make dinner, do you have anything specific you want me to make?" I asked, trying to put what just happened in the back of my mind. "Curry udon!" She cheered as I told her to wait in the living room and started cooking. The incident with Rise wouldn't leave my mind, but I tried not to think about it so much so Nanako wouldn't question it.

I caught up with Naoto on my way to school, "Oh... Good morning, Senpai. Exams start next Friday, but I am just not in the mood for schoolwork. The true killer is someone else... We're the only ones who know that. If we don't act, the case will grind to a halt." That's not the only thing on my mind... "I can't study either..." I empathize, "That isn't good. If your grades drop, Dojima~San may suspect something is going on. Please, do your best on the tests for the sake of the case. Anyway, we can only wait for the culprit to make his move. We must not forget to check the Midnight Channel, too. This is a crucial moment." I know... Why must my life be so complicated...?

~Timeskip~

Mr. Kondo's lecture was able to put my thoughts to rest, "Good morning everyone! Guess what!? We're going to have exams at the end of next week! Make sure you study, especially those of you who've been playing around all summer! Some people may not even want to talk to you if you're not smart! And friendship is important to a student, right? Today we'll go over... the predicate nominative! It sounds complicated, but don't worry! It's just a word that completes a linking verb and renames the subject of the sentence! For example... Let's see... You're looking eager today, Yui~Chan! Which word is the predicate nominative in this sentence, 'Mr. Kondo is a super awesome teacher!'?" He asked me. Okay... Predicate nominative in 'Mr. Kondo is a super awesome teacher!'... I think, "Teacher?". He praised me, "Great! That's correct! I knew you'd nail this one! In that sentence, 'Mr. Kondo' is the subject, and via the helping verb, 'is,' becomes 'teacher,' the predicate noun! See!? Simple, wasn't it!? ...Right? Boy, maybe we should do another example. I've got lots more sentences like that!".

School ended and no one was really willing to hang out, but they were willing to go into the TV. I told them to meet me at Junes as I went to the shopping district. A gas station attendant was standing outside and waved at me. "Don't you think it'd be nice if everything was done for you? That's what I'd call convenience. Kinda like driving a car... All you gotta do is step on the gas, and the car does the rest. If life was like that... Uh, what am I saying? Sorry, I tend to think of crazy things when I'm bored." Okay then... Shaking that out of my mind, I made my way to the Velvet Room. Margaret reminded me of the Persona I had to make for her as I went straight into trying to figure out the recipe. After a lot of trial and error, I created a Yatagarasu with Megido. "Wonderful! This Yatagarasu has the Megido skill... You have successfully completed the request. Riddle me this... What kind of Yatagarasu is a crow with three legs? ...I accidentally told you the answer. I'm sorry I spoiled it... I wanted to give you a riddle that my master once told me. It was difficult, yet entertaining, and somewhat sad... Since we've begun meeting this way, I've gained an interest in words. Anyway... Thank you for showing me this exquisite card." She smiled and chuckled at me, making me blush. She sure likes to tease me a lot.

"Well then... For my next request... I'd like a Yatsufusa that knows Mediarama... If anyone can do this for me, it's you. I eagerly await your return." Part of me thinks I need to get stronger before I can be able to fuse that Persona. With a bow, I left the room and made my way to Junes. Naoto was running late as I saw her at the elevators. "Ah, Nao~Chan! I've got something I wanna ask of you before we go into the TV." This piqued her interest, "I was wondering, if we could go into the lab to train. I'm asking since I know it's a place you might not want to see again and I just want to get your okay...". Naoto smiled, "If it helps us in the long run, then sure. Thanks for having the courtesy to ask, Senpai. But there's one big issue. Didn't you blow it up?" Crap, that's right... Maybe it rebuilt itself? Now that's wishful thinking...

~Timeskip~

I'm literally surprised that this place rebuilt itself, but I guess it's useful for us to train so I won't question it. Naoto got used to her Persona pretty quick, not to mention she was dodging attacks left and right. I guess the only downside to her Persona is that it didn't allow her to take too many hits before Yukiko and Teddie had to heal her again. Once we were done with the Shadows in the hallways of the lab, we went into the room where we fought Naoto's Shadow. There was... I think it's a turret? A wild turret with guns on each side that is. It was a tough fight, but we made it out victorious. Naoto was unironically a key factor in that fight with how much she dodged, leading her to help with using healing items. But she also had the idea to use these mirrors that her and Rise bought. They apparently make it so we can repel attacks which helped us greatly. I still don't understand the things that can happen in this world, but I'm not gonna question it.

"My other self..."

Izanagi? What is it?

"There is a weapon in the back... It could help that new friend of yours..."

A weapon in the back? I checked where Izanagi told me and found a really nice looking gun. "Hey, guys! Check this out!" I pulled the gun out, much to everyone's horror. "What? Think I don't know how to handle a gun?" I taunted while spinning it on my finger while giggling. "J-Just be careful, Yui!" Yosuke said, hiding behind Teddie. "Maybe I should hold onto it, Yui~Senpai..." Naoto took the gun off of me as pouted. I wanted to mess with them more. Well, I can do that next time. We left the TV and went our own ways. Yosuke offered to walk me home as I accepted, much to the dismay of Rise. After what happened the other day, I think I need to give her some space. But, doesn't mean I can't at least have someone check on her. While walking with Yosuke, I quickly texted Ryuto to check on his sister and see if she's alright. I won't tell him what happened, I don't think it's my call to do so.

Yosuke and I talked as we walked, he told me he was genuinely scared of the idea of me with a gun. I chuckled, "Why? You've seen me with a sword, why would a gun be any different?". He got flustered, "W-Well... Some might say that you with a gun is... A frightening scene..." Is he still somewhat afraid of me? Maybe... Maybe I could tease him a little. With my finger, I lifted his chin a little. "If that's the case, what does it make me without a gun? You think I can't be frightening?" My tone was lower than usual as it made him blush. However, seeing him getting flustered at my actions made me chuckle, "You're pretty easy to tease, Yosuke~!". "Th-That's not fair! I can't tease you about anything..." He pouted, making me take my two fingers and lift the ends of his lips up to make him smile. I told him, "I'm pretty sure you can find something soon. Until then, I'm gonna have fun with this!" And continued on with a skip. Once we made it to my place, I kissed him on his cheek before Dojima drove up to the house. "Ah, Hanamura, right?" Yosuke nodded at him, "You walked Yui home, didn't you? Let me drop you off. Yui, could you stay and watch Nanako?" I agreed before exchanging farewells with Yosuke and headed inside.

Once I got inside, my phone beeped. It was Ryuto. He texted, "Did something happen between you and Rise?" That simple, huh? I sighed, "Yeah, but I don't think I'm the one who should explain it..." And texted back before sitting next to Nanako and watched TV with her.

Ryuto's POV

'Yeah, but I don't think I'm the one who should explain it...'

A heavy sigh escaped my mouth as I looked at the door that led to Rise's room. She's choosing to hold on, even though she knows what will come out of it... Not only that, but it's stopping the other from being happy... I want to help them but-- no. I promised myself not to get involved when I decided to leave that situation, they're grown enough to solve their own problems.

Hey guys! So as you can tell, this chapter is the start of find out what's gonna come out from the Rise, Yui, and Yosuke love triangle. It won't be solved quickly, I'm gonna give it the slow burn, because I love the slow burn lel. Anyway, I hope you guys liked this chapter! And have a great day!
