Hey guys! This is where we get more information on Ryuto as a character. Before he was just a background character but now he's moving onto becoming a main character. I'm excited. This was a long chapter for that one purpose so I hope you guys like it!

I woke up and got ready to go to school as I realised that I still had Rise's phone on me. I'll take it with me. Who knows, I might need it like how we needed that crochet rabbit for Kanji. Just when I was about to leave, I got a text from Machi. My body just went tense before I read it.

'Scoring a date was harder than I thought when we don't have our good influence with us. But I got a date for next week Sunday with Raku, be there or you know the consequences.'

Ugh... I really don't like her. Kimi was at least bearable but Machi is something else. If we're not gonna save Rise, then I might just go there.

The five of us made our way to Junes though I couldn't help but think we were being followed. I don't think it was anyone like Dojima or Adachi, but it was someone. The others stepped into the TV until it was only me left. I was about to step in until a hand rested on my shoulder as I jumped. Turning around, I saw Ryuto with a serious expression on his face. "R-R-Ryuto?" "I know you guys are gonna look for Rise. Once you've found out where this creep took her, tell me. I wanna see first hand that she's okay. Promise me.". He cares so much about Rise, they've always been competitive and arguing with each other growing up. But I guess the more you argue with someone, the closer you actually are. I nodded at him as he left to allow me to step into the TV.

I guess they were waiting for me since they were crowded around the stack of TVs except for Teddie who just wasn't here. "What kept you, Yui~Chan?" Yukiko asked as I told them about Ryuto. They were shocked but I reassured them that he was fine and would keep our secret as long as we bring him along to save Rise. "We can't bring normal people in here!" The tomboy spoke up. Um, we brought the fox here. I'm pretty sure we can bring Ryuto as long as he stays near us. I told them that as Chie kept quiet. Eventually, Teddie walked up to us with his head down. I wonder what's wrong... "Heeeey, Teddie, you okay?" "I wasn't crying. Everyone was having fun out there. You forgot all about me... I was abandoned." Aww, Teddie! I ran up to him and gave him a giant bear hug. "No, we would never do that!" "I'm sorry... Were you lonely?" The girls said while petting the bear as he purred. Aww, he's adorable! "I was bored. It made me all listless. I'm a useless bear. I don't even know what I am. I couldn't figure it out... No one would come visit me... Then I thought I heard voices coming from your world. They were all having so much fun... I was so lonely that I tried to cry. But I couldn't..." Aww... "Well, you are hollow inside..." Yosuke! "Shut up! Stop saying I'm hollow!" Agreed. I stood up and slapped the back of his head before going back to hugging Teddie.

The brunette boy groaned, "But this is your world, isn't it!? You're the one who said you just want to live here peacefully, and made us promise to find the culprit!" Yeah, but think about how sad he is from being lonely. Cut him some slack. "C'mon, I'm sure Teddie's just tired from thinking so much, right?" He is, we should give him a treat. "When I'm alone, I think too much. It makes me even lonelier. I was so sad that my chest would burst and cotton would fly out..." He then turned to Chie, Yukiko and I, "Can I try scoring with you three someday?" Uh, not that kinda treat Teddie. "Sure, go right ahead!" Wait, you're serious, Chie? "Can we please drop the whole "scoring" thing...?" I agree, because I feel like this next place is gonna be more uncomfortable than the bathhouse and I don't need to have 'scoring' on my mind.

"Anyways, we wanted to ask you something! How's it been over here? Did a girl called Rise Kujikawa show up? Can you sense anything?" Right, we're here on business. "Rise Kujikawa? Hm...?" "You can't tell...? Your nose is kinda losing its edge lately, huh?" Yosuke! I slapped the back of his head again and I could just see he wanted to hit me back but didn't. "I'm a pretty shabby bear... Soon, I won't be useful at all. Then I'll get thrown away..." Oh no! "That's not true, Teddie! You're one of us!" I patted his head as his face lit up, "I can... stay with you all?" We all nodded at him as his smile grew. He really is an adorable bear. "Okay. Then we'll go look for something that'll help you search, like last time." "I can't tell for sure. But I can kinda sense someone in here... I think I'll be able to find her. I just need some kind of hint.". I showed him Rise's phone, "Is this enough or do we need information?" I asked as he sniffed. "Sniff, sniff. Sniff, sniff. I can smell that Rise person here, but I can't tell where. I'm sorry but I need more information." "Yui~Senpai, don't you know this Rise chick?" Kanji asked. "Yes but it's been so long, my information is invalid by that alone." I replied as we all agreed to go back and see if we can get a hold of Ryuto.

I was the last one to leave again as Teddie stopped me. "Mistress, can you listen to me ramble?" I nodded and kneeled to his level, "There's a lot of things I don't understand...". I placed my hand on his head, "We'll figure it out together, Teddie. I promise you we will!" My smile caught him by surprise but immediately goes purring against my hand and then to my face. "Thank you beary much. You're really kind, Mistress... I'll try even harder from now on."

Personas of the Star Arcana...

After so long, I finally have a social link with him. And the Star Arcana too, this is gonna be exciting. After exchanging farewells, I went to the real world as the others waited for me to call Ryuto. However, he sent me a message.

'Sorry for the late notice but my grandma needs me to do deliveries for the whole day so if you need something from me about Rise, it has to wait till tomorrow. I'm sorry again.'

I told the others this, "We can't wait a moment longer, let's try to get information elsewhere." The four of them nodded in agreement as we split up again. Yosuke at Junes, Chie at Samegawa, Yukiko in the school while Kanji and I took the shopping district. I immediately went to the tofu store and saw her and Ryuto's grandma outside so I walked up to her. "Oh, you're Rise and Ryuto's friend. They've shown me your picture. Looking for the twins? Ryuto's busy on deliveries while Rise is another story. Sometimes she leaves the house without telling me... I hope she's okay... I've heard that some person with a camera has been wandering around recently. I think that person was called a "papa rat" or something... The people in this district try their best to get rid of that person, but he just keeps coming back... I heard that he's often at the riverbank." The riverbank in Samegawa? I rang Yukiko and asked her if she saw any paparazzi around as she responded with a no. Maybe another day, then. My phone then started ringing, it was the daycare centre. They wanted to know if I was free because the kids are going out of control. Reluctantly, I said I was and that I would be there as soon as I could.

I texted the others to call it a day before checking the bus timetable. It won't be here in another thirty minutes so I'll check if the fox has another ema. Long story short, it did. The ema read, 'I have nothing to live for. I want to recapture the joy of life.'. This is gonna be even harder, do I have to find someone who looks depressed? However, that was an easy thing to find surprise. A man walked past me with his head down, shoulders slouch, like he's lost everything. I walked up to him and asked him what was wrong, "... isn't this a great-looking shop? My grandfather started this shop... And I closed it down. Nowadays, kids don't make models... If they want toys, Junes has a much bigger selection. I can't compete ...A long time ago, kids used to come in here and show off the models they'd built, comparing to see who was best. The store was so lively. Ah, those were the days..." He sighed. "I feel sorry for the toys that still remain in the store... I want them to be completed, but it'd be even more pathetic if they had to be constructed by me. The models would be happier if a young kid like you made them..." Hmm... aha! "How about I make one?" I asked, hoping he would say yes. "Huh? W-Would you do that? DO you have model paint at your place? You need clippers? Do you use putty!? What about detail pens...?" I could get those things, "Here, you can have this! Please show it to me when you're done!" The man handed me a model with a big smile as I made my way to the bus stop.

The kids were running circles around me so much that I got dizzy. Thankfully the day was over as parents started picking up their kids, Minami's stepson being the last one. I stayed with him until she arrived and she did. "Oh... it's you... Yui~Chan... was it?" I nod, "Yuu~Kun, are you getting along with Miss Yui?" The stepmother asked her stepson. "...No! You don't have to come pick me up!" The boy ran off while Minami sighed. "Yuu-kun... Do you like children?" She directed to me as I shrugged. "I'm indifferent to them, it depends honestly." "Really? You looked like you were having a lot of fun... So, you basically just view this as your job, then? That's great." Yeah, I wanna earn my own money. "It's so tiring...I don't hate him, but..." "You have problems with him?" I quizzed, hoping I'm not overstepping my bounds. "...It's more complicated than that. Haha, you're still a child, I see... I didn't like coming here because I'd run into the other mothers, but... Haha." I think... I think I'm starting to understand her loneliness.

A woman walked up behind Minami, "Are you... Yuuta-kun's mother? Do you think it's okay for Yuuta-kun to be alone? It's been getting dangerous lately. As a mother, I wouldn't leave my child alone. Nanako wanted me to hang out with her and as I couldn't say no, I did. We talked all night that I didn't have any time to work on that toy model or the rest of Yosuke's kumihimo. After school I tried to get a hold of Ryuto but it was fruitless as it kept going to voicemail. Well, we have to go to that paparazzi guy that Rise and Ryuto's grandmother talked about. Yukiko wanted to go with me so it was the two of us who went to Samegawa. It was pretty easy to find the guy we were looking for, he had a camera around his neck. The two of us approached him as he spoke to us. "How's it going? Oh, you two came to ask about Rise Kujikawa? You're looking for information about Rise, too? Well how about this? Why don't we exchange information? You tell me what you know, I'll tell you what I know. The people in the shopping district are making it hard for me to do any information gathering." Yukiko pulled me back, "You sure about this?". "It's fine, I got this." I replied before going back to the paparazzi guy. What's something I can tell him... aha! "She's different from what she is on TV." "Hmm, as I thought... To be honest, I used to do a little digging into Risette's private life. I was surprised to discover she's totally different than on TV. You'd never recognize her in real life. Honestly, though, when you think of an idol you should honestly just assume 'manufactured personality,' too." Well, he's not wrong. What else can I say...

"I think she's stressed too." "She's stressed, huh...? I guess that's what it is, then... You see, I've been trying to find the reason behind the shocking hiatus. And the most convincing thing I heard so far was that "Risette" got tired of her made-up personality. Her identity as an idol, as opposed to how she normally is... She couldn't stand living two lives anymore... That sounds about right. Well, you didn't give me anything new, but thanks for the information. I can at least turn this into something...". So Rise has a manufactured personality and she couldn't stand living as it along with her normal self. Rise... did Ryuto feel this way too? Yukiko snapped me out of my thoughts, "You think that's enough information for Teddie to go on?". I nodded before calling everyone to meet at Junes.

"I'll meet you there, I'm gonna get Ryuto and the fox." The black haired girl nodded before making her way to Junes while I went to the shopping district. The fox ran to my side as we walked inside the tofu store. There was Ryuto, sweeping. "Yui, do you know where she is?" He whispered, I guess his mom is in the other room. "Yes, you said to come and get you so come with me." With a nod, the boy told his grandmother that he's heading out while taking his umbrella. He got acquainted with the fox while we took the bus to Junes. "You know, I never thought we would reconnect with something like this going on..." He chuckles while yawning and wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I know I may have had a crush on him a while back but, I don't know anymore. Stuff with Yosuke is another factor too. And there's the thing with Rise all those years ago...

But he needs to know. With confidence boiling in my heart, I spoke up. "Ryuto, I've got somethings to tell you. I-" "You're bisexual, you kissed Rise when we were kids and you like someone else." I was shocked. How the fuck did he knew all of that? "Well, when you guys were having that sleepover, I was stuck in your closet. One of the girls wanted to prank you and have me jump out of the closet but they forgot all about me so I saw you kiss her. You being bisexual, that was honestly a guess. I knew you liked me and you seemed to like that kiss with Rise. If I'm wrong you can tell me." I shook my head no, he was right. He also knew I liked him, which is something else. "And the last one, I saw you around town with that guy with the headphones and you look so happy to be with him." My face went red when he said that he's Yosuke and I were hanging out. He then placed his hand on my chin and moved my face for me to look at him.

"That doesn't mean I'm giving up on you." HUH!? "I've liked you too, Yui. And I still do. I'm not gonna force you but just know that I won't back down to that Yosuke guy." Oh god, I don't think I've been this red in my life... "By the way, do your friends know about you being the heir to the Narukami family and you being bisexual?" I shook my head no. "I plan to tell them... soon... I'm afraid of being rejected for my sexuality and especially afraid of being used for my family's money. You remember Machi and Kimi along with... Hina..." My eyes started to well up with tears. Hina was a girl I knew back in elementary who stayed as my friend until middle school. Until I found out she just wanted me to spend money on her, like Machi and Kimi. One day I was walking home from school with Ryuto, against my parents wishes, when Hina walked up to me. She demanded that I go shopping with her so I could pay for her stuff and when I said no, she got mad and... I don't know what happened after that. I just saw red and when I came back, she was crying and had blood coming from her head.

That was the last time I saw Hina. She moved schools after that and I couldn't help but feel disappointed in myself. That's why I tried not to talk back to Machi and Kimi when they would use me. I don't wanna lose control of myself again. Ryuto saw it all and kept it secret with me, only he's seen me like that. I felt a hand rest on my head, it was Ryuto. "I'm sure they'll accept you. And if they're true friends, they wouldn't care about your family's money." I wish I could trust people with these things easily... The fox who was on my lap started liking my hand, as if to tell me that it would stay with me no matter what. "Thanks, Ryuto. You too, fox!" I giggled while the boy ruffled my hair, making me giggle more.

Devil arcana? I wonder why he's the Devil Arcana...

We made it to the Junes as I tried to calm myself down. I know if I turned up with a red face, the girls would tease me. Don't know about Kanji or Yosuke but I'm not gonna take that chance. They were all under a roofed table when they spotted us and we made our way to the TV. "I still don't know about bringing him with us but you're the leader, Yui." Yosuke announced, "Hey, we let Chie come with us that one time. And don't get me started about when you made me take you there. He's coming with us to save his sister.". I took Ryuto's hand as I tried to bring him into the TV. "Are you sure, Yui? I mean, we are going into a TV..." Yeah, I don't blame him for being skeptical. "Trust me?" My puppy dog eyes always worked on him so I did them and he gave in immediately.

Once we were in, I went up to Teddie with the fox. Ryuto was trying to get his bearings while Kanji kept him company. "Did you find out more about this girl Rise~Chan, Mistress?" I nodded and told him what the paparazzi guy told me, "Hmhm... Her real self... I see... She's just like me. The delicate, sentimental type. Then... Hrmmm... Whaah!? There's something out there! Is this it? Did I find her!? Follow me!" With Teddie's lead, he took us on a long walk. He took us to this building who had the lights turned off on the inside. "What is this place...? It's all dark..." Once Chie finished speaking, the lights came on all at once and yep, it's a striptease... oh god... "Whoa... is this a...?" Yes, Chie. "Oh, like the kind you always find in resort towns!?" Why do you sound excited? "Ah, I think you're right... Oh! B-But we don't have one... Our inn is not like that...!" Knew that, Yukiko. "Huh. So this is a strip joint, eh?" Thanks for the bluntness, Kanji. "Strip!? Aha! I know what that is! It's the thing zebras have, right!?" Teddie... no... please, stay innocent.

"You're telling me... MY SISTER'S IN A STRIPTEASE!?" Sadly, yes. "Strip... Like a zebra, right!? Right!?" Sorry Teddie, but no one's listening "It's so bright here... Even with the glasses on, my eyes hurt." You're telling me, why are the lights so bright? They're never this bright in the movies. "Doesn't anyone get the joke!? Okay, let's try one more time... Strip... It's something zebras have..." Please have that be the last time. "Can anyone shut this thing up!?" Don't like the rudeness but yes. "Huh? Zebra...? Sorry, what're we talking about?" Best not to bring it up again. I do NOT want to associate zebras with THIS place. "I-I won't say it again... Let's hurry on...".

We went on into the striptease with Teddie keeping both the fox and Ryuto safely behind him. After knocking some Shadows down, Teddie told us that we're closing in on something strange. Must be her Shadow. Yosuke opened one of the curtains and told us someone was there. We all entered and saw Rise looking away from us. "Rise!" Her brother called as she chuckled as turned around. One look I could tell it wasn't the real Rise. "Rise, what are you doing here? What are you wearing? Please, let's go home." Her Shadow chuckled again, this time even more creepier. "HeLlO, aLl YoU fAnS oUt ThErE! tHaNkS fOr CoMiNg ToDaY! tOdAy, YoU'rE gOnNa SeE eVeRy LaSt InCh Of Me! wHaT's ThAt? YoU dOn'T bElIeVe Me? AhAhAh! OkAy, OkAy! ThEn WhY dOn'T wE-oH, bUt YoU wOn'T bE aBlE tO sEe WiTh AlL tHiS sMoKe, HuH? oKiE-dOkIe! JuSt FoLlOw Me A lItTlE fUrThEr In AnD i'Ll PrOvE tHaT i'M eVeRy BiT aS gOoD aS mY wOrD!"

Words appeared behind her like Yukiko and Kanji's Shadows, this time reading, 'Maru-Q Midsummer Night's Dream Special! All the way Risette EXPOSED!!'. It was extremely uncomfortable. Doesn't help that the place has been playing this music the whole time that we've been here. "W-Were we like that...? That's... going kinda far..." You guys weren't THIS bad. "alL rIgHt, RiSeTeErS! dOn'T tOuCh ThAt DiAl! WhEn We CoMe BaCk, YoU'lL gEt A gOoD, lOnG lOoK aT tHe ReAl Me! MArU-q!" And with that, Shadow Rise ran out the opposite way. "Rise, wait!" Without having the chance to stop him, Ryuto ran ahead of us to try to reach his sister. "Ryuto! Ryuto, wait!" I called out but he didn't hear me. "W-We'd better move it! This is a thousand times worse than just hearing a few nasty secrets! And Ryuto's in danger on his own." All of us nodded, "The Shadows are really getting aggravated! What we just saw is what that Rise girl is suppressing! She'll be in trouble at this rate!" What she's been suppressing? What does that mean? "So, guess I'm on the rescue team now. Alright, let's hurry up and go!" With Kanji's words we followed after Shadow Rise and Ryuto.

After even more Shadow fights, Teddie said that he found Ryuto. He said he was in the next room. He also said to be careful since he could sense that something else was in there with him. With a deep breath, I asked the others if they were ready and they said they were so I drew the curtains. There stood Ryuto and in front of him was his Shadow. "Who are you?" Ryuto asked, "I aM nOtHiNg..." His Shadow answered, shocking all of us. "What?" "I nEvEr StOoD a ChAnCe BeCoMiNg An IdOl, So I hAd RiSe DrAg Me AlOnG. i'M nOtHiNg WiThOuT hEr So I'm NoThInG." Ryuto... "What are you talking about!?!" "'rIsE iS tHe OnLy OnE tHaT mAtTeRs' Or, 'RyUtO's JuSt NoT gOoD aT aNy Of ThIs StUfF.'. yOu HeArD aLl Of ThIs, It HuRt, DiDn'T iT? aNd WhEn YoU nOtIcEd RiSe StRuGgLiNg, YoU tHoUgHt It WoUlD bE a GoOd IdEa To QuIt!". Ryuto held his head in his hands, "Stop it... STOP IT!?".

"YoU qUiT tO mAnIpUlAtE hEr, YoU kNeW sHe WoUlDn'T hAvE bEeN aBlE tO kEeP iT uP oNcE yOu QuIt! ShE wAnTeD tO dO tHiS wItH yOu AnD yOu UsEd ThAt AgAiNsT hEr!?" Wh-What...? I tried to walk up to Ryuto but his words stopped me. "I told you to stop it!?" "WhY? iS iT bEcAuSe I'm RiGhT?". Ryuto clenched his fists, "NO! YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT ME!?!". "oH bUt I dO kNoW yOu. AfTeR aLl, I'm YoU!" The boy fell to the ground and covered his ears, "Don't say it!" Chie tried to tell him but he didn't listen, "No... YOU'RE NOT ME!?" His Shadow laughed and started to transform while I grabbed his arm and dragged him behind Teddie. His Shadow transformed into some sort of demon puppeteer controlling a puppet that looks like Rise. "i Am A sHaDoW, oF yOuR tRuE sElF!". "Everyone!" "Persona!"

Everyone used their element one at a time, to test things out while I stuck with using physical attacks. It turns out that it was weak to wind so Chie buffed Yosuke's attack. "Persona change! Yamata no Orochi! Garula!" I had Yamata no Orochi cast a Garula as Yukiko threw her fan at it. The fan hit the one of the strings connected to the Rise looking puppet as the main Shadow screeched in pain. It retaliated by hitting Yukiko with a strong physical attack, making her weak. Yosuke healed her while I thought."Hmm... Kanji, aim for the strings!" This should prove my suspicions. "Got it, c'mere Take- Mikazuchi! Fatal End!" He sent Take-Mikazuchi as it used Fatal End on one of the strings, making it snap. The Shadow shrieked in pain, I was right. The strings are it's weak point! "Everyone! Aim for the strings!" Everyone nodded as we all did so. The Shadow grew angry, hitting all of us with an attack that looked like Rampage.

All of us were badly hurt, we needed to heal, but how? I got it. I focused hard on one of my bonds specifically, Ai. I need your help, Ai, please! I felt and hand on mine as I looked up, it was a card. A card of the Moon Arcana. Yamata no Orochi? I turned it over and saw that it wasn't Yamata no Orochi's picture on the other side. It was a pink woman with orange hair wrapped in vines. Did Ai do this? Gah! I don't have time for this, I need to use it. "Persona!" It's name and skill set appeared in my mind. It's name was Alraune and it's skills are Mediarama, Energy Shower, Mabufula and Garula, two of them being from Yamata no Orochi. I know what to do, "Alraune, Mediarama!" I was able to heal everyone to almost full health as they continued to attack the strings. It wasn't long till the Shadow had it's puppet fall, leaving it vulnerable to more attacks. "Partner, how about we do this together?" I agreed as we both used Garula against the Shadow, defeating it together.

I walked over to Ryuto and tried helping him up. "I'm fine, Yui. I got it." He walked towards his Shadow that had returned to normal. "Y-You're not..." "Ryuto..." Chie whispered as Yosuke stepped to his side along with Kanji. "Your actions might've been selfish, but there's a good explanation, isn't there?" Yosuke questioned while Ryuto sighed. "Ever since Rise's and mine schedules got fuller and we stopped seeing Yui, I got afraid of people leaving. No, it was more like I was afraid of leaving people. And one day, the company was planning on dropping me and having Rise become a solo act. I didn't mind it, I never wanted to become an idol in the first place. But, I didn't want to leave Rise. That's when I learnt about how to manipulate people where I was able to manipulate the higher ups to keep Rise and I as a duo. Then Rise told me of her struggles of being an idol. The idea of using that to my advantage for both of us not being idols came to mind and I went with it. I knew it was wrong but... I did it anyway. I did horrible things but I ignored it since I was happy to have Rise in my life like this...".

Ryuto went closer to his Shadow, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have ignored you. But you're right, you are a part of me. You're the part of me that I ignored, the part of me that questioned my motives, the part of me that was sympathetic. You are indeed a part of me." His Shadow smiled and put it's hand up for a high five that Ryuto returned.

The strength of heart required to face oneself has been made manifest... Ryuto Kujikawa has faced his other self... he has obtained the facade used to face life's hardships, the Persona Kawa-no-Kami.

Ryuto fell to his knees, "Ryuto!" I called out and ran to his side. "I'm fine... now let's go save my sister.". "But, you're exhausted Ryuto~Kun!" Yukiko worried as he shook his head, "Even so, I'll hang back until I'm fine. You guys can still fight, right? If so, we can keep going." he responded. "Yui~Senpai? What do you think?" Kanji curiously spoke as I thought. "Teddie, can you take care of him?" "Of course, Mistress! But, can't Mr. Fox heal him?". Wait, that's right. "Fox, would you?" I asked as the fox sighed and handed Ryuto a leaf. Afterwards, he felt so energised that he was able to continue.

Hey guys! So yeah, Ryuto is the Devil Arcana which you probably know from reading the ships part of this fic. Next up is his Persona. Ryuto's Persona is the God of Rivers named, Kawa-no-Kami. If you wanna look into the God, you can search it up but the main reason why I chose it for Ryuto's Persona is the same reason why I made his Shadow design have a puppet. In the past, people would give human sacrifices when the rivers would flood.
