Hey guys! Here's the next chapter and I personally like this chapter. It has more wholesome moments and I love wholesome moments. It is also one of the few chapters that doesn't have any of the Investigation Team members in it, excluding Yui of course. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I liked writing it!

Ichijo found us in the hallway and asked Ebihara if she was okay. He noticed she was crying and started apologising profusely to her which made her go pink. Hehe, she likes him, doesn't she?

*RING* *RING*

My phone started ringing as I saw Dojima calling me. "Moshi moshi, yes?" I answered, "I'm outside your school with Nanako in my car, c'mon." Dojima's voice sounded demanding but had a soft tone to it. "Yes sir, one sec. See you in the car," I hung up and waved goodbye at the two before heading outside. Dojima's car was in front of the gate of the school and I started running. Bad idea. I tripped up on my foot and fell. My hands and knees were grazed and stung when the wind hit it. There wasn't blood, just a little bit of my skin was ripped. I got up and walked to the car this time instead of running. "You okay, Yui?" Dojima asked while I got into the car while I just nodded and kept looking at my grazed knees. Opening my bag, I pull out two band-aids and put one on my knees.

We drove in silence all the way to Okina City. They may be family but I don't know how to talk to them. Eventually we parked and left the car. Nanako's face was the brightest I've ever seen and it gave Dojima a small smile. Entering random stores, I try to look fine so Nanako won't be upset but I think Dojima knew my smile was fake. Walking around in a store, I saw a purple trilby hat with a yellow ribbon tied around it. Next to it was a light blue snowflake brooch. They're beautiful together, I wanna buy them! I open my bag to look for my purse but I can't find it. Can't find it... wait, I think I left it at home! Crap... looks like I can't get it... "What are you looking at, Yui?" Dojima asked, looking over my shoulder to see both the hat and the brooch. He seemed to understand my situation and took them both to the cashier and bought them. "Here you go Yui, hope you like them!" Dojima... I took the items and bowed at him before clipping the brooch on the ribbon of the hat and the hat on my head.

It was then I realised I didn't see Nanako around. "Hey, uncle? Where's Nanako?" I asked him as he pointed to the changing rooms and his phone rings. With a grunt he answers it while I walk towards the changing rooms. One of the doors opens and Nanako walks out with a green shirt and a blue skirt. "D-Do I look good?" She asks with a slight blush as I chuckle and I walk up to her. "Hold on Nanako, let me help you out!" I take her hand and begin walking throughout the store to look for an outfit that will suit her. After looking through many racks, I pull out a light pink singlet and a bright pink skirt. "Go try these on, honey!" I smile at her as she rushes to the changing rooms.

I waited outside for her to finish and Dojima walked up to me. After a while, she walks out of the changing rooms with a bright pink face. "What do you think, dad?" Nanako asks as he smiles, "You look cute, Nanako." her smile widens. She changed back into her normal clothes and Dojima bought the clothes before we all left the store. Nanako's hand slowly reached out to mine as we walked which made me smile. She is like a little sister... "Thank you Yui!" She looked up at me with a huge smile that just melted my heart. She's so precious, I wanna see her happy more often. I-Is this what Suki~San felt when she looked after me? We got into the car and the ride back home was calming. Calming enough for me to be able to fall asleep.

I dreamt that I was Chie's mom. It was a weird and surreal dream but my relationship with Chie has grown.

The moment we arrived home we had a quick dinner and parted to our rooms. I decided to study a bit before heading to bed.

After school finished I went to the gym. As the basketball team practiced, the balls would get off the court and my job was to pass them back to the members. Ebihara wasn't here today, probably was embarrassed from yesterday.

*CRASH!*

Huh? Oh no! One of the players fell pretty bad... "Are you okay?" I ran up to him to check up on him as he tried to reassure me he was fine but he clearly wasn't fine. I looked at his ankle and it looked swollen. "Ichijo! Help me to get him off the court please!" He did so and we put him on one of the benches. I also asked him to get the first aid kit and an ice pack as I stuck with the injured student. "I-I'm fine Narukami! D-Don't mind me..." He persisted as I just placed my finger on his lips and made a shush sound. Ichijo returned with a first aid kit along with an ice pack and I started treating the boy's ankle as Ichijo went back to practicing. As I treated the boy's ankle, I heard what the other boys were talking about.

"Damn... I was expecting to see Ebihara today..."

"She's the only reason why I come to practice..."

"At least we've got something to stare at..."

"But she doesn't have the extra something that the other chick has!"

"HEY GUYS! Stop it, you're being creepy right now, especially since Narukami's here!" Ichijo...

"Hey did you guys hear about Ebihara? She has a sugar daddy!"

"Had a feeling. I mean with that rack and that ass?! How could she not?"

"Ok that's going way too far you guys! Don't go talking shit about any of the girls!" Heh, he really is a nice guy.

"No really though, it's- GAH!"

Huh? I look at their direction and see Ebihara at the door. She sighs and walks away. "Ichijo, I'll check up on her. Be right back!" I waved at the boys as I chased after Ebihara again. "Ebihara!" She wasn't too far and I was able to catch up to her. "You okay?" I asked as she kept walking. "Don't worry about me, they're always like that. I'm worried about YOU." Huh? "I'm used to it, but you seem like someone who hasn't been sexualised by horny male students." She's worried about me? She's... surprisingly nice!

Ebihara is worried about me. I feel slightly closer to Ebihara.

"Hey, let's talk more. Next time, let's skip school!" She leaves with a flourish as I just stood still. Skipping school? I haven't done that in ages... "Narukami!" A familiar voice calls out from behind me. It was Ichijo. "Where's Ebihara? I-Is she mad?" He asked as I shook my head no and he looked relieved. He cares about her, doesn't he? Heh, it's cute. "How's the others?" I asked back while he scratches the back of his neck, "They... they thought Ebihara would be pissed off so they left..." so the boys are scared of her, interesting to note down. "Let's clean up then, Ichijo!" We both walked back into the gym and started cleaning up together.

~Timeskip~

We finished cleaning up the gym, it was quicker than I thought. "Man, I'm hungry... hey Narukami, Aiya or Junes? You decide." Aiya? Haven't heard of that... maybe it's a food place? I can try it out! "Aiya, I wanna try some!" I say enthusiastically as he just smiles. "Ooh, you got good tastes. Their Hui Guo Rou is awesome!" Interesting... something to mentally note down too. "Hey Kou, hurry up." Daisuke runs up to him, "The soccer team's done already? You guys are fast, man... don't you have cleaning up to do?". "Yeah, but I don't have to do that stuff." Nagase's statement made Ichijo a little skeptical of him. "Either way, mind if Narukami joins us to eat? Kinda invited her without asking you." Ichijo gestures over to me as I just smile.

"Sure, no prob. Oh that reminds me, this girl in my class was looking for you. She made something for you in home ec. She said, 'Kou~Chan loves sweets,' or something like that." So Ichijo is popular with the ladies huh? Hehe... "Well, I do like me some sweets... I just wished she didn't call me 'Kou~Chan'..." He begins to trail off, "Oh? Kou~Chan doesn't like to be called Kou~Chan?" I teased a bit which made the two boys laugh. "Wow, Narukami. I didn't take you as a person to tease people. It's great though, it makes you more cute!" Ichijo's comment made me flush pink in embarrassment.

I think... this place is making me feel relaxed. Getting to know Yosuke, Chie, Uncle and Nanako... meeting Amagi, Ebihara and these guys... it's making me feel more loose and free compared to when I was in the city. "I swear... telling girls to stop calling me 'Kou~Chan' the more they seem to enjoy doing it... I hate my name 'Kou'. It's such a crappy name." . "Well? What're you gonna do?" Nagase smirks at Ichijo, "... I guess I'll go pick them up. Let's share them, the three of us! Let's get so fat we won't be able to do practice!" Ichijo leaves to go to the girl who made him the sweets with a small smile on his face.

My relationship with Ichijo seems to have grown stronger...

"Okay you two, don't leave without me! If I don't see you guys here I'm gonna cry," Ichijo laughs as Nagase sighs, "Funny thing is, he's probably serious..." And with Nagase's comment, Ichijo left to go get the sweets. Once he returned, they took me around the Central Shopping District to the Chinese Diner Aiya as we ate the sweets on the way. The sun began to set so we parted ways.
