Uncle Drama gives me a Gift

When I woke up sometime later, I found myself in a luxurious room that seemed familiar. I sat up groggily, to see Grover slumped over in a chair next to me, fast asleep. Tears started in my eyes when I searched for Annabeth and remembered that she was gone.

"Percy?" I heard. "Mom?" I asked. "Oh Percy, you're alright!" and she launched herself onto my bed and hugged me so tight I thought I felt a couple if ribs break. She let go of me and glared. "Don't you dare do this to me one more time, Perseus Jackson! I can't stand all this worrying at my age! 3 days, not knowing if you would make it, despite the God's healing powers..."

"Gods? We're on Olympus?" She nodded. "H-how? You're mortal..." I trailed off. She just smiled. It was then that i started to cry. "Annie's gone, mum... She's not coming back. I c-ca-can't do anything without her, I f-feel lost, mom. I n-need h-her." I broke down completely in her arms, the loss hitting me like one of Zeus' lightning bolts.

"Oh baby... I'm so sorry for you, Percy, but no one can help you get her back. Me, Paul, the rest of the Seven, and Poseidon are always here to help you move on, like she would have wanted you to." I sniffled, feeling like a twelve-year old again, and told her about Annabeth's dying wish and my promise.

She looked at me with pride. "That's my boy, always humble and unselfish. Annabeth loved you so much, Percy... She tried to console you with her last wish, hoping that this task would make it easier for you to move on."

We stayed there on my bed, talking softly, until Nico came running in. He looked scared. "Percy! I'm sorry for this," he said, and proceeded to drag me out of bed, and out the door.

"Zeus wanted to speak to you as soon as the battle ended, but Poseidon and Apollo convinced him to wait till you recovered a little. Now that you are awake, the Gods are waiting for you in the throne room." He pushes me into the room, mouths,'Good Luck' and leaves.

In the throne room, the Gods stop talking as soon as I enter. They break into applause. Not believing my eyes, I watch as each Olympian leaves their throne to congratulate me on my victory over Gaea.

"That will be enough."  A voice booms. Zeus, who has stayed on his throne looks at me. " Perseus Jackson"  he says, and I walk up to the foot of his throne and bow.

"You have defeated Gaia single handedly, fulfilling the prophecy that she world would fall to storm, and done us a great service, boy. we wish to reward you. The first time we offered you this gift, you turned it down. I shall not ask again, boy. DO YOU, PERSEUS JACKSON ACCEPT OUR GIFT OF IMMORTALITY?"

I'm shocked at first, and open my mouth to refuse. Then, I have an idea. I ask Zeus, "Lord Zeus, if I agree to this request, what shall I be the god of?" Its my dad who answers, "My immortal lieutenant and heir, and the God of Loyalty."

I think for a bit, and ask Zeus, "Uncle, I accept your gift, but on one condition. Swear on the River Styx that you shall grant that." All the gods agree, and swear on the Styx.

"I shall give up the privilege of becoming my father's heir to recieve another sphere of control - Heroes." The Gods look at me, shocked. "I made a promise to Annabeth, and I need to be able to interfere in the matters of Heroes to fulfill it. I used my earlier gift to make sure that you claimed your children, and i need this, to protect them."

Athena speaks up, her grief for Annabeth evident in every word, "I agree with Percy. We are prohibited from interfering in mortal affairs, but if he is the God of Heroes, then he can help our children and make sure none of them go astray." Slowly, all the gods give their assent.

Zeus looks at me, and sighs. "Loyal to the very end. I agree with my brethren, and will grant your request, as well as give you another sphere of control to aid you in your task. You shall take over Kronos' power as Lord of Time."

He began to glow, as did the other Gods. "RISE, PERSEUS JACKSON, LIEUTENANT OF POSEIDON, GOD OF HEROES, LOYALTY AND LORD OF TIME!" They said in unison. I felt a new power course through my veins. An ancient power, much more than I had ever felt. The Gods had given me the power of Kronos, King of the Titans, after all. It was older than all of them, after all.

I opened my eyes to find a new throne for me, next to my Father's. "You are now one of us, my son. Accept your throne." He told me, smiling at my surprised look. I walked  to it and sat down, grinning when I felt how comfortable it was.

The throne was like my father's, very like a sea captain's fishing chair, but it was bright blue, and instead of the trident holder, a tray full of my favorite blue food waited for me. There was a tiny pen-stand, just the right size for riptide in pen form.

"And now," Zeus said, "Time to reward our other heroes. He snapped his fingers, and Ganymede, his cup-bearer appeared. "Summon the Heroes." Zeus told him. As we waited for my friends to come, Dad turned to me asked,"Percy, why did you give up status as my heir?" I instantly felt guilty, as he had not understood why.

"Dad, Triton is your first son and heir. I thought that me, a seventeen year old, taking his place was unfair, for he had held that position for a bajillion years." He smiled, and clapped me on the back. "That is exactly why I insisted upon you becoming the God of Loyalty."

Just then, the doors opened. Jason, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Nico, Reyna, Coach Hedge, and Leo, holding hands with... CALYPSO!! He'd rescued her from Ogygia, after all.

All the gods went silent as Calypso glared at them. "You broke your promise on the Styx. Percy gave up immortality for that wish, and Leo nearly died trying to get back to Ogygia, but did you care? For one second did you..." She started, but froze when she noticed me on my new throne.

I waved awkwardly. "Hey Calypso, peeps, Coach, Reyna. Wassup?" They looked at me in utter shock. Piper and Hazel, their eyes swollen with tears for Annabeth, looked at me like they'd seen a ghost. The boys looked at me like I had set fire to my pants. (Leo actually set his hair on fire, and did not notice till Calypso put out the flames for him.)

Aphrodite smiled at them, and called out. "Heroes, meet the newest Olympian, Percy Jackson, Lieutenant of Poseidon, God of Heroes and Loyalty."
