Stuff Happens, I meet someone

Once all the festivities were over, and the shrouds of the fallen demigods burnt, life at Camp went back to normal, or as normal as it can be. I was given rooms at the Big House, and a new Cabin, Cabin 0 (it symbolized new beginnings where everyone was equal and accepted. All the undetermined campers were moved to Cabin 0, which Hecate had put a spell on, to ensure enough room for everyone staying there.) was built for me. I stayed with Chiron most of the time, ocassionally going to Olympus for meetings or to visit Mom and Paul.

I often had visions of people in need of my help, and the nightmares only grew worse. Becoming a God hadn't affected my demigod dreams. And I had a breakdown every morning when I woke up, sweaty and shaking and realized there was no one to share my burden. Mum, Hazel, Piper and Chiron tried, but none of them were Annabeth.

I hadn't tried to visit her in Elysium yet, but Hades had told me how happy she was, reunited with Luke, Silena, Beckendorf and Bianca. The fact that I would never be able to be with her properly was heartbreaking. When I was mortal, I at least had the assurance that I would spend the rest of eternity with her when we both died, but now, I had to deal with the loss for aeons. But despite that, I would never regret the reason I choose immortality-to protect and guide heroes.

Chiron thought that this was the reason why I was having trouble with my newfound powers. I had accidentally turned two satyrs into turtles (turtles are cute, okay), flooded the Big House and destroyed the plumbing of the whole camp (that is one thing I never want to relive) and almost killed Thalia with a badly aimed burst of divine energy.

Chiron tried to console me and suggested a visit to see Annabeth, but I knew I couldn't handle seeing her again so soon, when I was still mourning. I sat around all day, playing board games with Chiron (he'd become sick of pinochle) with an occasional trip to the outside world to help a hero or punish a traitor (God of Loyalty, remember???)

The campers had been terrified of me, expecting another Mr.D, but when they realised that i was the same Kelp Head they knew, they stopped turning white with fear and stuttering when they saw me. I also took over the job of weapons instructor, but left the archery classes to th Apollo kids to teach.

About a week after the defeat of Gaea, I was walking across Camp, when I saw Hestia at the hearth. "Perseus," she greeted me, "Life as an immortal is not as wonderful as one thinks, nephew?" she sounded amused.  I agreed, "No, I have no idea on how to spend my time, and coming to terms with the fact that I'm going to be here forever, thats hard, Hestia." She seemed to think for a while, before suddenly smiling. She said,"Why don't you go to your fathers palace for a while? I know that you have never stayed there? Maybe some time under the sea will put things into perspective." It seemed like a good idea, and I agreed. It was only much, much later that I realized how much I owed Lady Hestia for the suggestion.

I teleported to the Big House. Chiron was having a meeting with the rest of the Seven. Frank and Hazel were talking of returning to Camp Jupiter for good. They gave a huge start when I materialized right in between the two of them. Leo recovered quickly and gave me a high five. "That's my Cap'n Salt Water!" He yelled.

Smirking, I told them,"Reyna needs a leader to help her at the moment. She IM'd me for help today morning. She's been having trouble with the legionnaires old Teddy Bear Killer (Octavian) recruited. Something about all of them being cheats, traitors and exiles, with the occasional murderer thrown in. I was planning to go over and help, you guys coming?"

Frank looked lost, but Hazel nodded. "See ya, Sparky, Beauty Queen, McShizzle. Oh, and Chiron, a prayer to the God of Heroes..." "We got it, Prissy! Now shut your trap and get going. I need to talk to Chiron." That was Clarisse who had just entered the room. "Geez, Clarisse! I'm going, I'm going! Frankie, Haze, see ya at Thalias Pine when you're done." After hugging the others and saying goodbye, I teleported out of there.

As I stood beside Thalia's pine, my godly aura seemed to strenghten the power of the tree. The branches grew longer, the leaves got greener and the Camp's border hummed with energy. "Help!" I heard a familiar yell.

Grover was dragging a bleeding and unconscious girl towards the border. Three hellhounds, about twenty dracenae and a couple of empousai were chasing them. I immediately vapour travelled them to the Big House, before drawing Riptide.

"Perseus Jackson, the killer of Gaea, we shall have our revenge for our brethren you killed." An empousa hissed. I grinned at them. "Nuh-uh!" I brilliantly replied, before chopping her head off. She exploded into dust. The others  growled at me, and charged. They really were stupid. Twenty five monsters versus the guy who killed The Earth Mother? Seriously??

Once they were all gone, I made my way back to the Big House. Chiron and Grover were sitting by a bed, where Kayla from the Apollo Cabin was treating the girl.

Grover looked up when I came in. "Perrcy!" he bleated. "This is Beth. Three hellhounds, and and what seemed like arai appeared out of nowhere the second I told her! I was knocked out minutes into the fight, and she fought them off with a dagger I'd given her. Smells like Big Three."

That shocked me. The oath had been broken... Again. I mean seriously, guys, is it so hard to not have kids?

The aura of power around her was quite strong. That and the fact that arai were after her definitely meant Big Three. "Have Argus move her to my Cabin once she's out of the infirmary. Calypso (she was head of Cabin 0) can look after her." I told him, before vapour traveling to Frank and Hazel waiting for me at the base of Thalia's Pine.
