Explanations and New Friends
In my state of unconsciousness, I had a vision. I mentally swore on the Styx to have a talk with a certain trio of sisters. Loki was peacefully asleep in a bed and Frigga was sitting in a chair beside him, reading a book.
Suddenly, Loki shivered. He began to whimper and plead. "Please....please...no...not them....please...don't....don't want to....let me go.....don't....not again...can't bear it.....hurts....the Mad Titan....." He started thrashing in his sleep, trying to free himself from some invisible bonds.
Frigga had long since abandoned her book and rushed to his side. She placed a hand on his forehead, and softly murmured a few words in Old Norse. At least, I assumed it was Old Norse. She then grabbed a flask kept on a nearby table, and opened his mouth, pouring some of the liquid down his throat.
Then, she placed her hands on either sides of his head and began to chant in a different language. Her hands glowed, and Loki seemed to settle. His sleeping form relaxed, and he seemed to breathe easier. He whispered just one word, "Mother...."
Frigga smoothed down his disheveled hair, and gave him a small kiss on his forehead. She shifted her position so that she was sitting beside him, and kept on stroking his hair, calming him. I couldn't help but notice a small tear trickle down her cheek.
There was a knock on the door. Frigga hastily wiped her face, and called out-"Come in!"
Thor and Odin walked in, followed by a old dude who seemed vaguely familiar. Odin looked sadly at his son's sleeping form. "Is there any change?" He asked softly.
Frigga shook her head. "He is still having nightmares and visions, and sometimes, I have noticed a hint of blue in his eyes. I have done everything in my power to help him, but it has not had much effect."
Odin turned to the old man. "Is there a permanant cure for this?"
The man stepped forward, and with a nod from Frigga, placed his hand on the prince's forehead. He turned slightly pale and hurriedly lifted his hand.
"The prince's mind is in turmoil, My Lord. He cannot distinguish between what is real and what is not. He believes that he is trapped, and the-" he stopped and gulped, "Mad Titan is once again trying to put him under mind control. Asgard's best Mages have failed in healing his mind, My Lord, for he does not trust us enough to break down his mental barriers."
He bowed to the Queen. "Her Highness is the only one whom he does not push out of his mind immediately, but My Lady, your power is not enough, as you have seen."
Thor looked very worried. "If neither Mother nor the Mages can help him, then who can, Father? I need him back, Father. We need him back."
Odin looked conflicted. "The Greeks. Healing the mind is the speciality of Dionysus, God of Wine." Thor winced. "The Olympians do not seem like they are likely to help Loki after what he has done to Midgard."
"We will need the support of young Perseus, Thor. Do you think he will speak on behalf of Loki?" Frigga asked.
Thor nodded. "Aye, Percy has a kind heart and sound judgement. He will speak for us." The scene slowly faded to black, and I opened my eyes.
Mom and Paul's faces were anxiously peering down at me, Paul holding an empty glass in his hand. He looked relieved to see me awake.
I sat up groggily. "Sorry, had a long day. Couldn't deal with any more surprises." Al's eyes twinkled, like he could guess what I meant, while my uncle looked completely confused.
I held out my hand to him. "Let's do this again, shall we? Hello, I'm Percy Jackson, and I'm 18 years old."
He shook my hand. "And I am Sirius Black, your Mother's twin brother." I looked at him, then I looked at Mom. I looked back at him, and at Mom again. "Twins?" I asked.
Mom laughed at my expression, before answering, "Non-identical. We still look like siblings, though." That, I could agree with. Both of them had black hair, dark brown eyes, similar noses and high cheekbones.
"How did you two get separated?" I asked her.
Her face fell. I realised how insensitive I had been. I mentally slapped myself. "Stupid! Seaweed Brain!" I suddenly had a version of blonde hair, and her voice, saying the same thing. "No Percy! She's gone! She's not coming back! Focus!" O scolded myself, and blinking back tears, I forced myself to listen to what Mom was saying.
"Our household wasn't the best, Percy. Our parents were very obsessed with blood purity. They expected us to follow their beliefs and consider the non-magical population as dirt beneath our feet. They believed that as pure-bloods, they were like royalty, and deserved to rule everyone." she took a deep breath, and opened her mouth to continue, but Sirius laid a hand on her shoulder, and spoke for her.
"Your mother is too kind to say that our parents were stuck up, bigoted and arrogant. They tried to make us follow them, and we complied for a while, but as we got older, we found flaws in our parents' views. And when we finally got to Hogwarts, we realised that Muggle-borns were just people. They were no different from us."
"At school, we made friends with people our parents disapproved of. They became colder and colder to us, until our fifth year, when they threw us out. Thankfully, my friend James' parents took us in."
"When we turned seventeen, with some of the money an uncle left us, I managed to get your mother to America, and the Jacksons agreed to take her in. Professor Dumbledore helped with that, and we managed to hide her identity and she was assumed to be dead back home. I stayed behind to fight in the war. It was the hardest thing we ever did."
Mum continued, "I lived with Jim and Laura till the crash, and then looked after Jim's sick brother till his death. I had broken my wand, and never earned enough to return home using non-magical means. I was able to buy this wand only when you were thirteen, and received the message that Sirius was in Azkaban for life. There was nothing left for me back home."
Wait a sec, Sirius Black, falsely accused mass murderer is my uncle? What the
H-? "Mom, if you'd told me earlier, I could have busted Fluffy out ages ago, and most probably even got Nico's help and cleared his name by now, or at the least, a fair trial. Heck, even Dad would've been happy to help!"
He looked flabbergasted. "H-how did you know about that? No one knows about Padfoot-" I grinned. "I have my ways, dear Fluffy. I take it you didn't tell mom?" He shook his head. "Oh, this is gonna be fun."
I looked at my confused Mom. "Meet Mr. Padfoot, co-creator of the Marauder's Map, who occasionally turns into a dog." Mom looked beyond pissed. She whacked him on the head. "Ow! What was that for?"
"You became an illegal animagus and didn't tell me! Why?"
He sheepishly smiled, scratching his head. "Ummmm... We did it to help Remus during his transformations, and he was scared of telling anyone."
"Remus was bitten by a werewolf when he was a kid." I explained. Mom looked horrified. "Oh the poor, poor man. How is he? He's lost everything....."
It was only after both Al and Sirius reassured her that Remus was okay, did she let the discussion continue.
Paul turned to Al. "Why did you come here today, professor?"
"The Wizarding World will soon face a war. Voldemort has risen once again, and we need all the help we can get. Percy will be a valuable ally, considering his heritage." I nodded.
"I'm coming with you either way. Voldemort's return has affected my uncle and cousin, and I mean to help. Your mom gave me all the info, I would need, but she never told me about him." I gestured to Fluffy.
Sirius looked baffled. "Dumbledore's mother? Percy, how-" The sky thundered, and I heard Drama Queen's voice in my head. The Olympian Council has been summoned at once!
Getting up, I yelled, "Not 'it'! Uncle Drama wants a meeting. I'm going. You lucky people get to educate Uncle Fluffy about the hidden world that is the good ol' US of A! Bye!" I vapour-travelled to Olympus, just outside the elevator.
As I walked through the city, everyone I passed knelt down, with their heads bowed to me. It was so annoying! I mean, c'mon dude! I'm not Zeus! I don't care if ya bow to me or don't. I'm not going to smite you!
Anyway, a long walk later, I was at HQ. Opening the doors, I walked into the throne room, and took my seat.
Dad smiled at me, making a talk-to-you-later gesture. I nodded. Uncle Hades looked a bit better, possibly because he knew Nico was safe and no longer missing. Once all fifteen of us were seated, Zeus began.
"Odin has reached out to us and apologised for his son's actions. He claims that the prince had been mind-controlled by an entity known as the Mad Titan, and been forced to commit those deeds against his will. Odin wishes for our permission for the royal family to come to Olympus, where he hopes that we may be able to help Prince Loki. What does the Council say?"
No one spoke for some time. Deciding to break the awkward silence, I spoke up. "I can confirm what Dra- Lord Zeus has said. I fought with the mortal Avengers and some of the older demigods against Loki's Chitauri army, and was present at his trial in Asgard. I was the one who was able to see through his illusions and discover the truth. I vote that Odin and his family be allowed to come here, so that Dionysus can help the prince."
The other gods listened attentively to what I said, and seemed to be thinking about it, when Athena spoke up, "How were you able to see through the illusion?"
I pulled out Riptide, and flicked off the cap. It grew into the familiar bronze sword, with the Reality Stone embedded in the hilt. "The stone. Apparently, it decided that I was worthy, so now I'm stuck with it for the rest of eternity. Odin thought that the stone helped me see through illusions."
She sighed, resigned to the fact that something that hadn't happened in centuries had happened to me. I mean come on, the fact that I lived so long with all the prophecies hanging over me was an impossibility in itself. "Athena, I thrive on impossible!" She groaned, probably rethinking her vote to make me a god.
I grinned at her. Ares butted in. "Why should we do that? Lets not, so that we can have a war-"
I cut across the idiot. "We already have one. A war in Uncle Hades' domain. The damned spirits are fighting their prisons, and attempting to escape."
Hades gave me a grateful smile. "I have been greatly weakend by this war, and so has my son. He has overexerted himself so much that he is in danger of turning into shadow forever." Here, he gave Apollo a pointed look.
I glared at Golden Dude. "Apollo! Do you think you can heal Nico? Will, your son, has almost killed himself by over-using his healing powers on my cousin. They've had no effect. I had to go bring the son of Frey to prevent him from fading." Apollo paled, and muttered something, which had better be that he was going to help Will.
Zeus opened his mouth, "HOW CAN-"
"Whoa, dude. He already knew about us. Magnus Chase? Ring any bells? Chase?"
I asked.
He looked blank, as did most of the Gods. "And I thought my head was full of kelp! He is Anna-" deep breath, "Annabeth's aunt, Natalie's son. Also an en-energy? Ummm...What do they call those dead dudes who live in Hotel Valhalla?"
"Einherjar."
"Yeah that. So its completely cool. Can we get back to the issue at hand now?"
Dad spoke up. "So, all in favour of allowing Prince Loki and Prince Thor to Olympus?" He raised his hand. So did I and Athena. The others looked at each other before raising their hands. Only Zeus, Hera and Demeter abstained.
Zeus spoke through clenched teeth as if it physically pained him, "Ganymede, Convey our decision to Heimdall."
The cupbearer bowed, and flashed out of the throne room. "Any other matter to be discussed?" Zeus asked.
"Yes, uncle. I must set out to England and help Lady Hecate's people in their war against Tom Riddle. He is the spirit who has escaped from the Underworld, and his death will play a big role in stopping the uprising of the dead. Before you start yelling, Lady Hecate has warned me of the consequences of disturbing their fate more than is necessary, and has given me the necessary knowledge."
Athena nodded. "Hecate has done what is necessary, but I would like to suggest something else. It is better if Perseus leaves behind a portion of his power to act as his clone and carry out his duties. After all, he will not require his complete godly strength in Europe. It will take a substantial part of his power to maintain the clone with the distance between the two, but it is necessary. He will be equal in wizarding strength to Hecate's strongest children, and thus not raise too many suspicions."
Zeus granted me permission to go, and then adjourned the council. I followed Dad to the gardens, and sat down beside him on the ledge of a fountain.
"I wanted to speak to you about Elizabeth. Apollo has told me that she too has a difficult fate ahead of her, and she will play a major part in saving the world. I am afraid for her, lest she go through what you did. I do not wish a fate such as this on anyone, least of all my own children. Please don't tell her about her fate, but help her whenever you can. I love her very much, for she is my only daughter-"
"Then visit her! She might put up a happy face and play pranks on everyone, but she is hurting on the inside. Her mother died years ago, and her uncle is not the most attentive of guardians. She told me she knew the robots better than she did him! She longs for a parent, Dad, be that one for her. Talk to her, visit her. Zeus has even removed the restrictions after the Giant War. The only thing keeping you from getting to know your daughter better is yourself. Think about that." It was the first time I was that pissed at Dad, but he deserved it for letting Beth feel like that.
I left him there, and walked back to the elevator, from where I could teleport back home. Uncle Hades was waiting for me by the elevator. To my utter surprise, he gave me a hug! "Thank you, Perseus, for all your help. I truly appreciate everything you have done for me and Nico."
We spoke for a few more minutes, sorting out a few details about my mission, and then I made my way back to Camp. I told Chiron about the meeting, and my mission. He wished me the best of luck, and asked me to stay for dinner and make the announcement that I would be leaving for sometime.
After dinner, I greeted the newest Campers and (the Barton kids chose to stay in my cabin, while Laura preferred the Tyche Cabin. Clint said he'd bunk in Apollo whenever he would be there.) properly introduced Magnus and Alex to everyone. Turns out, the Stoll's had discovered her ability, and the three of them were already planning pranks and a shape-shifting competition with Frank.
The Athena Cabin welcomed Magnus, and gave him some of Annabeth's stuff that was still left after her dad took most of it. She had practically lived there most of her life, after all. They had kept her bunk just the way she left it, as a tribute to her, except for her Yankees cap, which I kept in my pocket at all times.
Anyway, Magnus and Alex decided to stay for some more time, seeing that both groups had just saved the world and no one was in any danger. Jack was a great attraction for the younger kids, and the Hephaestus Cabin spent all their time following him around asking questions, fascinated by the talking, flying sword. I admired their patience. I had had enough of the sword's singing to last me my entire immortal life.
Thankfully, Jack seemed to have forgotten about Riptide, and didn't stalk me like last time. I packed my things from the Big House, and met Lady Athena in the main room. She led me through the process of separating a part of my power, and making it look and act like me. She also showed me how I could control the power I used to keept fake-me running. Finally, she helped set up a spell which allowed me to view everything that the copy had done during that day in my dreams. What seemed like ages later, I was able to leave.
Lou Ellen, head of the Hecate Cabin threatened to turn the rest of Camp into pigs if Albus didn't come and meet them.
When I got home, I saw Al on the couch with a plate of cookies in his lap, happily munching as he watched Paul running around frantically and Sirius sat beside him, looking slightly dazed, with a blue cookie in his hand.
I joined Al on the couch. "Hey, Al? D'you know where Camp is?" He nodded. "Your siblings want to meet you. Lou Ellen, the counsellor threatened to everyone else into pigs if you didn't go, so I think you should meet them."
He stood up, and gave me the cookies. "Tell Sally they're delicious and I want the recipe. I'll meet you back in Grimmauld Place." He did a wierd twist, and vanished with a loud 'crack' sound. From what Hecate had told me, I assumed that was Disapparition.
Sirius suddenly turned to me. "Is it true?"
"What?"
"That your father is a Greek God, and now you're one too?"
"Oh that? Yup!"
He seemed to hyperventilate. "My sister...if I had known this would happen, I would never have let her leave."
"Hey!" I said, offended. "I would never have been born! And the world might have been destroyed at least three times by now!"
I ignored the "really, Percy?" look that he was giving me, and tried not to think of how arrogant I had sounded. Instead, I asked, "Why is Paul running around like a headless chicken?"
"He said he had a cousin in England and wanted to visit him. Sally and I, well, we didn't want to be separated from each other so soon, so both of them are packing to leave."
I was worried when I heard that. "Be right back, just.....make yourself at home." I went to Mom's room. She was standing in front of her closet and using her wand to levitate clothes into a suitcase. A wierd squiggly wand movement automatically folded the clothes, before packing them.
"Mom?" I called. She turned and smiled. "Almost done. What about Pa-" I interrupted her. "Are you really sure that you want to go? There's a war going on, and in your condition....."
She laughed. "Your becoming more and more like your father every day. Poseidon would keep worrying about me when I was preganant with you. He visited quite a lot before you were born, constantly telling me not to do this or that.... I'm fine, Percy. I wouldn't have agreed to come if I didn't have faith in myself. Besides, the best Wizarding Hospital, St Mungo's, is in London, so its perfectly safe. No one even knows that I'm alive, so I'll be fine. I have you, Paul and Sirius with me. I'll go by Sally Blofis, if that'll ease your tension. Don't worry, okay?"
Still a little uneasy, I left her to pack and rejoined Sirius. He turned to me as soon as I sat down. "Is he a good man?" He asked.
"Who?" I was surprised by his question.
"Paul Blowfish!"
"One, Its Blofis, and two, yeah. Why?"
"I meet him for the first time, and I see my little sister's married to him. She seems happy, but I want to know if I should threaten him, you know? Give him the hurt-her-and-I'll-kill-you talk?"
I laughed. "Nah, man. I've lived with her all my life, and I've never seen her happier than the past two years. He loves her too much to hurt her. He even asked me for my permission before proposing! So I think he's fine."
Sirius nodded and relaxed. We started talking about the muggle world and I told him about some of the stuff he'd missed when in Azkaban. When I promised to speak to Hecate and get him a trial to prove his innocence, he gave me a fierce hug, and I could see tears in his eyes.
After what seemed like an age, Mom and Paul walked out. I asked her again, "Are you sure you want to come, Mom? If you want, Sirius can stay here with you. I'll take over whatever he's supposed to do back in England. I'm pretty sure that he isn't even a wanted man here-You can stay together, possibly even go out in public...."
She shook her head. "Its our war that's being fought. Our friends and family who are giving up their lives. I've never been a fighter, but I can stay at Headquarters and help with the planning. I just can't stay here, cooped up, when I know that I can be doing better, and I'm sure Sirius feels the same."
He laid a hand on my shoulder reassuringly. "I agree. Besides, Molly will be at Headquarters at all time, and she will not let Sally do anything she shouldn't. Molly is a complete mother-hen."
Mom turned to me. "By the way, if you're going to be in the Order, then I think it'll be better if you look older, Percy. A couple of years ought to do the trick. The others might not be too keen about letting a seventeen year old fight, yeah?" I realised the truth in her words, and I willed myself to change my age. "There. Better?" I asked. She nodded. Sirius looked as if he wanted to question me, but then let it go. Ooh! Let it go, Let it go! Turn away and slam the door! Here I stand, in the light of day!!! Let the storm rage on-STOP SINGING, PERCY! FOCUS!!! Sorry, where was I? Oh right. I magically changed my age, then....
"Are we apparating?" Paul asked. In response, I vapour-travelled us to the front steps of Number 12, Grimmauld Place. All three of them stumbled a little, unused to the sensation, but I willed the water particles in the air to steady them.
"Shall we?" I asked my uncle. Blinking, he opened the door. "H-how? The Fidelus Charm? The Unplottability?"
I just smiled at him. "Right. God. Lady Hecate's blessing. Sorry. Come in, they're waiting for you in the kitchen."
Stumbling in the dark corridor, Paul tripped over something, and dropped his luggage with a clatter. Instantly, a loud screeching was heard. "Filth! Scum! Half-breeds, mutants, freaks, begone from this place! How dare you befoul this house-"
Mom winced. "That portrait, huh?" Sirius gave her a half-smile, and hurried off. Curious, I followed him. It was the picture of a nasty old woman who looked quite a lot like a harpy. She started screeching much louder when she saw Sirius. "Blood traitor! Abomination! Shame of my flesh-"
"Gods! What is that supposed to be?"
"Your grandmother." He told me, mirroring my look of disgust.
"SHUT UP YOU OLD HAG! SHUT UP!" he yelled, and shot a spell from his wand, but it did nothing. Muttering furiously, he was about to storm up to it, when I stopped him. Giving him a smirk, I waved my hand, and the water in the air collected together on the surface of the painting, and the cloth quickly absorbed it. I willed the ice to freeze, and her face was covered in a thick layer of ice. The harpie's screams were abruptly shut off, and I suddenly realised something. I'm now the male version of Elsa.... But my singing sucks....so maybe Jack Frost??
"Want to do the honours?" I made a blasting motion with my hands.
Sirius gave me a evil smile. "No. Let her stay frozen like that. Nothing made her angrier than when she couldn't yell at us for disgracing the family."
We rejoined Mom and Paul, and Sirius led us to the kitchen. Mom kept looking around, and frowning, as if trying to remember something. She cheered up when we got to the kitchen door, and stepped beside her brother as he opened the door.
He walked inside, arm on her shoulder, and I followed with Paul beside me. I heard a wierd, strangled gasp. "S-S-Sally?" A brown haired man, with scars on his face stood up, and walked hesitantly towards Mom. Remus Lupin, I guessed by the scars. I had laughed for ages when Hecate had told me his name. It literally meant Wolf McWolf. As if he was destined to become a Werewolf.
"Hello Remus." Mom held out her hands for a hug. I was right!!! Ha! Suddenly, Paul stiffened beside me. He looked at someone sitting at the table. "Hermione is that you?"
The bushy haired witch, who I had assumed to be Hermione Granger the minute I had seen her, looked sharply at us. "Uncle Paul? Y-you're a wizard?" She came over to give him a hug.
I stood there awkwardly, watching the tearful reunion between my mother and her best friend, before someone cleared their throat. A redhead girl who was sitting closest to me, gave me a questioning look. Based on Hecate's info, I assumed that she was Molly's daughter.
Mom and Remus loosened their hug, and so did Paul and Hermione. Sirius spoke up. "Right. Sorry. Everyone, this is my twin sister Sally. She lives in America, with her husband Paul, and son Percy. They're here to help us."
Molly bustled up to us, and gave both me and Paul a big hug, before turning to Mom. "Sit down, dear. I can see that you're dead on your feet. No, don't deny it. I've had seven kids, and I know how tiring it is when you're pregnant."
She led her to the table, and set a plate of food in front of Mom, before pulling the two of us to sit beside her, and handing us well-stacked plates of food, which I scarfed down with no shame.
The twins who were sitting next to me, introduced themselves. "I'm Fred, and I'm George."
I narrowed my eyes at them. "Nope. He's Fred, and you're George." I switched the names, and they looked shocked that I had caught their trick. "Dude, I'm a camp counsellor. I deal with pranksters all summer. I can recognise those smiles from a mile away."
"Say Fred-"
"Yes George?"
"Are you thinking-"
"What I'm thinking?"
"Do you want to join the holy duo of pranking-"
"And make it the holy trio?" I finished. They nodded. "Sure, why not. As long as you don't prank my mom, I'm on your side. Anyone else is fair game."
They agreed. "Prankster's honour. You've got a deal." We solemnly shook on it.
I head Molly call my name. "Percy, how old are you, dear?" "Nineteen, almost twenty, Mrs.Weasley."
"Call me Molly, dear. You studied in Ilvermorny, I assume?"
Thank Hecate for drilling a cover story into my head for such situations. "Actually, I didn't. I went to a little known camp near New York over the summers, where they taught us advanced magic, and Mom taught me the simpler spells at home. I went to mor-muggle school throughout the year, and Camp in the summer. My camp specialises in fighting, with wands, hand-to-hand or with medieval muggle weapons. I'm a very good swordsman."
"Whoa.... Can we come too? Must be great to have no homework." A boy I took to be Ron asked.
Laughing, I told him, "Sorry, its for kids with Dyslexia and/or ADHD, coz we find it very difficult in a normal classroom environment. I've got thrown out of seven schools in seven years. Only managed to graduate high school 'cause Paul works at the school I went to."
Fred and George yelled, "We're not worthy! We haven't even been suspended!" And bowed down to me. "Teach us your ways, My Lord. We shall be your finest students."
Mom looked amused, and Paul gave me a look that said, "Don't you dare!" I grinned at him, and tapped the twins on either shoulder with a butter knife. "Rise, my brave knights. Henceforth, thou shalt be known as Sir Fred, Knight of Mischief and I dub thee Sir George, Knight of Pranking. Rise, noble warriors."
Molly looked ready to faint right there, as the twins rushed out of the room. "Don't worry, Molly, I won't let them destroy the house." I got up to follow them. Sirius stood up with me, offering to show me to a room. We walked upstairs together, when suddenly a thought hit me. "The Marauder's Map! D'you know who has it now? It will be really useful in keeping an eye on whatever's happening at Hogwarts."
Sirius smirked, before telling me that Remus had seen it last in Harry's posession. "Harry's guard is supposed to go get him in two days? You want to go with them?"
"If they don't mind, sure. But tomorrow, I'm going to the ministry and getting you a trial. I was thinking of approaching Madam Bones with the evidence, seeing that Fudge won't listen and Al's been removed from the jury. Is there anyone better?"
He stopped dead in his tracks. "You really meant it when you said you'd get me a trial?"
"Of course I did. They carted an innocent man off to prison without even a trial? It's been pending for a long time, Sirius and I will get you justice."
The hope suddenly left his eyes. "But what good will it do? No one is going to believe me, let alone allow me to wander around freely till the trial."
I put an arm around him. "You're forgetting something!!!" I said teasingly. "You've got me and my contacts on your side. Even the ministry cant deny Lady Magic, right?"
"You-You're getting L-Lady Hec-Hecate to help?"
"Bingo! She cant directly interfere with you guys, because of an ancient law, but I can. We found a way to go avoid the laws, allowing her to help. I interfere, and I make it a godly matter, allowing her to step in. She told me that she wanted to help you years ago, but couldn't, and asked me to apologise on her behalf."
"But before that, I'll need a wand to fit in with you guys. Hecate gave me her blessing, and I can do wandless magic, but it'll be suspicious if I don't have a wand. I'll need a trip to Diagon Alley to get some stuff. I'll have to go there soon."
He agreed, and showed me to the top floor. "That's the twins', this is mine, that room is your mother's and the last one is Regulus'. You are supposed to have his, as the youngest male in the family, but it's not very nice."
I refused to stay in the musty old room all alone. Tradition be damned, I decided to bunk with the twins, who were delighted to make space for me. We had an absolutely amazing time discussing ideas for their joke shop. They showed me the money that Harry had given them, and I told them to ask me whenever they needed more.
Soon, I left for Diagon Alley under the not-excuse of getting a broom. Harry's guard was flying to his house, and I wanted to join them, now that Zeus couldn't smite me for flying. I really wanted to rub it in his face. Who said I don't like revenge?
In Diagon Alley, I first went to the bank, whose name I cant remember. The goblins bowed to me, and the dude at the desk hopped off his stool and showed me to an office I assumed to be the manager's as soon as I told him my name.
The manager, whose name was Firnell, opened an account for me. Apparently, the Olympians had vaults in the oldest, and most heavily protected part of the building. Another goblin, Gornuk, took me to my vault, which was overflowing with coins. It was Vault number 013. Good thing I didn't have anything against the number thirteen, with me being Olympian #13 as well. He also told me that I still had access to Dad's vault, #003.
My first stop was at the dusty old shop which the goblins claimed sold wands. A bell tinkled when I opened the door, and a very old dude walked to the counter. "Hello, hello. I am Mr. Ollivander, and you are-"
"Percy Jackson. Nice to meet you, Mr.Ollivander."
He looked up at me, staring at my face. Slightly creeped out, I reached for Riptide, which was in my pocket, but he suddenly turned away, and walked further into the shop. I could no longer see him behind all the shelves.
After some time, he returned, holding a big pile of thin long boxes, each coloured differently. He placed them on the counter. "Lady Hecate left these with my ancestors, saying that each wand would choose a hero, who would do great things. You, Mr. Jackson, have a powerful aura, and I think that you might be more suited to one of these wands."
He opened a grey box. "Holly and Dragon heartstring, 12 inches. Unyielding. Give it a wave, Mr. Jackson." I barely touched the wand, when I realised that it was not meant for me. I let go. "Not this one. It is accepting me, but no."
He looked impressed. He spread the boxes on the counter. "Choose the one that is calling to you the most."
I could feel this wierd pull, and I followed it, my hand hovering over two boxes. One was a light blue, and the other, a mix of green and blue, just like the colour of the sea on a calm day.
I could sense that the blue box held the stronger wand, possibly the strongest of all those in front of me, but I felt more in tune with the sea-coloured one. I laid my hand on it.
Ollivander opened the box, and handed me the wand. "This is one of the rarer wands which have two cores. Hazel, with a strand of both pegasus and thestral hair. 14 inches, pliable. Fiercely loyal and useful for defensive spells." I picked it up, and raised it above my head, and waved it downwards, releasing the sweet smell of the sea after a storm.
Ollivander said, "A wonderful choice, Mr. Jackson. No, no. You do not need to pay. It not often that one of these wands are sold."
Shrugging, I went to the next shop on my list, which was a broomstick shop. The shopkeeper smiled at me. "Welcome, young sir. What would you be interested in looking at?"
"I'm here to buy a broom."
He led me further inside the shop. "What type of broom do you prefer?"
"Something that is sturdy, and not easily damaged. A moderate speed is more than enough. I'm a clumsy flier."
"No worries sir. We have something that will suit everyone. Is there any specific budget?"
"Nope. I need a broom that suits my needs. Money is not a problem."
He pulled a broom from a rack behind him. "The Silver Star 1300. Top of the line, newest remake of the old Shooting Stars which were so beloved. Perfect for you, sir."
Believing him, I bought the broom, a broomstick servicing kit and some quidditch gear for the Weasleys as a gift. I wandered about the alley some more, buying a few wizard clothes for myself (I need to blend in!) And a nice looking bracelet for mom. I also bought an owl from the pet shop, so that I could send messages the wizard way.
My arms full of bags, I vapour travelled back to my room, which was thankfully empty. Based on the grumbling of my stomach, it was dinner time. The ice-creams I had eaten earlier did not affect my appetite at all.
I joined the others for dinner, and gave them the stuff I had bought. They all loved the stuff, and I pulled Remus aside after the meal. "Lady Hecate gave me this spell. She said that it reduced the pain you felt during the transformations and would help you keep you mind at all times as long as you cast it on yourself two days before the full moon night."
I saw tears in his eyes, and he gave me a brief hug. "You truly are your mother's son, Percy. I don't know how to thank you..." I gave him the slip of paper on which she had written the spell.
I spent the rest of the evening listening to Fred and George's ideas for their prank shop, and helped them test some out. During the night after Fred and George fell asleep, I snuck out to my uncle's room which was empty, and IMed Hecate. She helped me come up with a plan to enter the ministry and speak to Madam Bones, the chief judge. Half-asleep, I staggered back to bed. The clone back home was taking a lot of my power to maintain. I was back to needing eight hours of sleep a day.
I forced myself to wake up early the next morning, and dragged myself down to breakfast so that I could go to the ministry. I didnt tell anyone else where I was going, though.
I changed into wizard robes, and used my powers to make myself a little older and make my hair shorter, and blonde, before turning my eyes brown. I also gave myself a small mustache. Finally, I apparated to the ministry. I went to the front desk, and showed a badge that Hecate had given to the dude at the desk. I claimed to be someone sent from the American Ministry to speak to Madam Bones about the Sirius Black situation, and rumours of his sightings in America.
He led me to an elevator, and showed me to Amelia Bones' office. She looked up as I came in, and nodded to the dude, who left.
"Please sit down, Mr-"
"Johnson. Peter Johnson." Damn you, Mr.D! That was the first name that came to my head!
"What can I do for you, Mr. Johnson?"
"I have come regarding the Sirius Black situation, Madam Bones. MACUSA (the American Ministry) has sent me here to put forth our views. We have received information that can prove his innocence."
She stared at me. "Please continue, Mr. Johnson."
"We have received reports, and photographic evidence that Peter Pettigrew is still alive. Black did not kill him."
Madam Bones looked completely astonished. "What? May I see this evidence?"
"Of course." I mentally signalled Hecate. There was a loud crack, and she appeared in the room beside me.
"Hello, Amelia."
"Mother!"
