Chapter Two

"APOLLO!" Poseidon boomed.

He wanted his nephew here now. His only mortal son was underneath a building for gods sake.

He had heard Percy's prayer-if you could even call it that. But Poseidon wasn't about to complain. His son needed him to keep a level head.

Poseidon could feel his son's energy. It was weak, very weak. Although still stronger than any other demigod. Through his fear he felt a burst of pride, before mentally scolding himself for not thinking of Percy.

The sea god started shifting the rubble with alarming speed.

Fun fact: later mortals would say that it was because of the adrenaline, not superhuman strength. Such funny things, they believe what they want and don't see the truth. So peculiar.

Poseidon managed to find a hand. He instantly knew it was Percy's solely for the reason that a small pool of water was healing the cuts that ran along it. With new found effort Poseidon shifted the rest of the rubble off his son. He put a hand to Percy's neck and felt a faint pulse.

Poseidon straightened up, Percy in his arms. "APOLLO! Where is that blasted god?" Poseidon looked around, Apollo still hadn't appeared. "I have to do everything myself don't I?"

Poseidon and Percy disappeared into mist. Mortals would say that a cloud had appeared amongst the crumbled remains of the building and travelled to the sky.

Well that was pretty much true.

Poseidon turned solid outside of Apollo's temple. He scowled at the amount of gold that was on it. Like seriously how much do you need gold everywhere? Everybody already knows that he's the god of the sun.

Poseidon glared up at the sun before yelling again, "APOLLO GET YOUR SUNNY ASS DOWN HERE!"

"Jeez Uncle P, keep your knickers on. What can I do for you?" Apollo said appearing behind Poseidon.

Poseidon whirled around and glared at the younger god. Apollo met his glare with a bright smile, which dropped as soon as he saw the unconscious boy in his arms.

"Is that Triton?" Apollo asked stepping forward to get a better look.

Poseidon lessened his glare and looked down at his son. "No, it's Perseus, my mortal son," he said shortly.

The smile was completely gone from Apollo's face, "I don't think so."

"What-"

Apollo pressed a finger to Percy's face. Right beside a cut just above his eyebrow. As soon as Apollo's skin touched Percy's the cut began to heel.

Poseidon felt his son be lifted from his arms. When he raised his head he saw that Apollo had taken it upon himself to take Percy inside. The sun god flashed away, leaving Poseidon standing there in shock. Surrounded by gossiping minor gods and nymphs, Poseidon hadn't noticed a certain white haired god staring intently at his son and the other Olympian.

*three days later*

Percy woke up with a headache. He felt as if a building had been dropped on him, which was funny, because that's exactly what he had dreamt about.

He was in an white room, with miniature suns and various musical notes painted along the top. The ceiling looked like the night sky. Stars twinkled and dakr clouds looked like they were moving slightly.

Am I in another dream? Percy thought. He wouldn't be surprised, he hadn't seen a room like this, let alone heard of one.

Knowing how demigod dreams are he tried to lift one hand first. His hand came into his line of sight. It all felt so real, more than a usual dream.

Mabye I'm not asleep, he thought while sitting up straight. It hurt a little bit, like he had been exercising for a while. However his legs were still asleep.

Percy twisted his head around. He felt weird. Really weird, as if he had been crushed then healed. Which had also been in his last dream. It was extremely vivid. Percy frowned, too vivid for his liking. First Gaea had shown up, acting like herself. But it wasn't a memory, Percy was sure of that. She talked a bit, then pain had rushed along his body. It had felt like everything inside of him was changing and being flipped like a pancake. Would the pancake be blue?

Percy started looking around again. There was a window he hadn't seen before. The moon was in perfect view. The sky outside matched the one on the ceiling. The stars twinkled on both, making Percy think that he was hallucinating. No way a ceiling could move right? Unless he was on Olympus, because who knows what goes on up there. Well the gods would know, said the small sensible voice of his conscience.

Oh shut up, Percy replied. He was in a strange place, with an IV in his arm for some reason. He did not need to be sensible. He needed to get out of here, or wake up. He was also on a hospital bed which was weird.

He still had no idea if he was dreaming or not.

"You shouldn't be sitting up," said a tired voice from his right.

Percy spun around. Standing in the doorway was a very good-looking blonde man. He had blue eyes and his hair was short at the sides and flowy at the top.

"Apollo?"

"Yes its me. Now what are you doing up?" Apollo said walking over to the bed.

"What are you talking about?" Percy asked, slightly hesitant about the god. Sure he was harmless when he had acne but that was because he was mortal. Now he was a god again, and although he didn't do anything to Percy the last seven years, Percy was still on edge around him. As he was around all the gods and goddesses.

Apollo ignored his question and his eyes went up to Percy's eyebrow. "Is that blood?"

"What?" Now Percy was really confused and on edge. Apollo didn't seem to be getting ready to kill him, he actually looked worried about him. Or just tired, it might be that he just looks tired.

"That isn't a question you answer with another question," Apollo said absentmindedly.

"Apollo what is going on?"

Apollo moved to put a hand to Percy's head but Percy leaned back. Staying out of reach from the god.

Apollo sighed and sat down on the bed, right beside Percy. Touching his leg with his own. Apollo tapped Percy on his temple and Percy could think more clearly. More importantly, he could feel his legs again.

"Apollo what is going on? Where are we? Why am I on a bed?" Percy started asking.

Instead of answering any of them, Apollo just looked at Percy with tired eyes.

"Oh, sorry," Percy said. He pushed himself up again into a sitting position.

Apollo's eyes trailed along Percy, checking him over for any new injuries. "It's not you. I've just had a long day of your father asking if you had woken up yet."

Percy was confused as hades, which is a common occurrence.

Apollo continued on, "To answer your questions. You are in my temple, Uncle P brought you here three days ago, you've been unconscious since. Apparently you were in a building that collapsed, in an earthquake. Though the earthquake just affected that building, nothing else was harmed funnily enough."

Percy was shocked. Three days, his Mom's probably out of her mind with worry. The earthquake thing was weird too. But he didn't want to think about it.

You probaby should think about it, said the sensible part of him.

Shut up! Percy replied in his head.

Finally Percy founs his voice after staring at Apollo for a few minutes. "Three days?"

"Yup," Apollo looked out the window to where his sister rode across the sky. He had started tapping on Percy's thigh. An irregular pattern of mumbo jumbo.

"I was in a collapsed building?"

"Yes."

"What the Tartarus was I doing in a collapsed building?"

Apollo's eyes flicked back to Percy's face. The god grinned at the son of Posiedon, "Well I wouldn't know, would I?"

Percy frowned, staring down at Apollo's hand on his thigh, "I had a dream."

Apollo stopped tapping for a second, before continuing on as if nothing had happened. "Go on, what was it about?"

"I was helping Mom and Paul get everything out of the apartment, I was the last one there then Gaea showed up," Percy started. "She started saying how I was unprotected then I was put in an earth tortilla. You know like a butterfly. Then I hurt, like a lot. Then she said that I would cause my own downfall and then the building collapsed."

Apollo stayed silent for a moment, leaving Percy to think that he should have just kept his dream to himself.

I'm so stupid, he thought.

Yes you are, said the sensible part of him.

That was rude.

Its the truth.

Apollo said something, bringing Percy out of his internal argument.

"What did you say?"

Apollo had a frown on his face. Which cutely scrunched up his features.

Oh wow, Apollo's hot.

He is the sun god, idiot. Percy didn't like that his sensible part was also fond of insulting him. Occasionally.

"I said that it wasn't a dream. The building that collapsed was your apartment building," the god still had that adorable frown on his face.

No, bad brain. Stop thinking about Apollo being hot.

But Percy had to agree, Apollo did look very hot. Not just because he is the sun god.

"Oh," Percy said quietly. "Why am I on Olympus?"

Apollo froze up once again, instead on resuming his tapping he laid his hand flat.

"I don't think I should be the one to tell you this," Apollo muttered, barely loud enough for Percy to hear.

"Tell me what?" Apollo didn't answer. "Tell me what Apollo?"

Apollo stood up, "I'm going to get Uncle P, he should tell you this."

Percy grabbed Apollo's hand, "Please just tell me."

The god of healing sat back down, giving Percy's hand a slight squeeze.

Apollo's eyes filtered back to the window. "You know how after the second Titan war you denied immortality."

Percy's face immediately fell.

Apollo continued on, refusing to meet Percy's eyes, "Gaea must have blessed you somehow. My guess is that the pain came from your blood, well your blood changing to ichor."

"Am I...Am I a god?" Percy almost didn't want to hear the answer. He was hoping Apollo would just say joking and smite him for not wanting to help him with the Oracle.

Apollo finally met his eyes. Percy didn't know that gods could look at someone with sympathy, but apparently they could.

"I'm so sorry Percy," Apollo said, following the mortal norm of apologising for something that isn't your fault.

That was all the answer Percy needed as he fell backwards.

I'm a god now.

What will Mom think?

I'm going to outlive everyone I know.

I'm a god.

I don't want this.

I never wanted this.

Rot in Tartarus dirt-face.
