Chapter Fourteen

"How was he triggered?" Zeus demanded for the fourth time.

Poseidon groaned, "Zeus they've already told you three times. They don't know what triggered the power release."

"What about the swear to Pontus then?"

Hades groaned and rolled backwards of his heels, falling flat on his back.

"Uh Hades what are you doing?"

"Mourning the death of my last braincell which killed itself at the sound of your voice," Hades said, smiling grimly at his younger brother.

"Hilarious," Demeter said under her breath. As more conversations broke out among those present in the Olympian throne room.

All twelve Olympians were seated in their thrones. Hades was in mourning on the ground near Hestia's hearth. Hestia was sitting there, watching Percy as he slept. Triton was leaning against his Father's throne, still mortal height. Kymopoleia was sitting on the right arm of Poseidon's throne.

When they got there, Zeus had started calling Apollo by his name. Not falling for the 'Aidan' act for one second. To say that Kym and Triton were surprised was an understatement.

"How on Ero's faulty arrow's did we not see that?" said Triton.

"Because you're an idiot of course," Kym said, staring at Apollo as well.

"Well you didn't notice either so that makes you an idiot too."

"Oh sweet Erebus," Hades muttered rubbing his temples.

"That means you're accepting that you are in fact an idiot," Kym retorted.

"Oh I've accepted it. Especially when I thought you'd be decent to talk to."

"ALRIGHT SHUT IT."

It had been funny to watch but annoying to personally witness. Thats why Poseidon was trying to keep them apart now. To help all the god's remaining sanity stay intact. Which in itself was a miracle that it had survived this long.

"Get all gods that these two have interacted with since Perseus became a god," Zeus said finally.

"Me and big brother?" Kym asked.

"No Triton and Perseus."

Triton raised a hand. "Frankly I don't see what I did wrong."

"As far as we can tell, you triggered Perseus' attack," Zeus said, glaring down at the younger god.

Poseidon groaned, "For the last time, it was not an attack. He most likely lost control."

Zeus ignored Poseidon, "Get all of them here now!"

Triton let his head fall back against his father's throne, "O Eros you white haired git, get your feathery ass over here now and bring the dumbass with you."

Eros flashed in, "I can argue that my ass is far more appealing than just feathers."

Anteros was beside him, "You do realise you said that in front of the Olympians."

"Yes I did."

"What a whole five seconds after you said that?"

"Maybe."

Zeus interrupted the two before they could continue bickering, "Is this all the gods that you two have interacted with?"

"Would you not just need the gods that Percy has talked with?" Triton asked with a sheepish smile.

"No, bring the ones you have talked with too, boy."

Triton sighed, "Ok theres one more that isn't here. I'll go get him." Triton flashed out.

Ares raised a hand, "I was talking to Percy and so was Electra."

"I asked him out and he dropped me," Hermes said, lounging in his throne. Scrolling through tumbler.

"You asked him out?" Apollo said harshly.

"Yeah, and like I said, he dropped me. So I took that as a no," Hermes replied unbothered by the sun god's threatening tone.

"Good."

Aphrodite peered at him over her fashionable sunglasses, "Quite possessive aren't you Apollo?"

Apollo rolled his eyes, making the wise choice not to answer the love goddess. The best thing he could hope for would be to stay out of her line of interest. It would be best for both him and Percy.

Hades groaned, "Should we tell him?"

"No," Aphrodite said with a manical smile. "Not yet."

"Ahem can someone tell me what Apollo doesn't know?" Eros said like a whinny child that doesn't get enough attention. He flashed up to the arm of his mother's throne. Staying mortal sized so he wouldn't fall off the side of the throne.

"It's just Perseus identity darling."

Hades spoke up again, "More like who he was in a past life."

Anteros dropped his bow, "Hold the shell, is my brother-"

"Yes, this is amazing," Eros squealed, appearing beside Anteros in a puff of pink smoke.

"Oh my gods," Anteros muttered.

"I know."

"Holy Artemis' gang of lesbians."

"I know."

Anteros made eye-contact with Apollo and for the first time when it came to him. Apollo wasn't reminded of Percy. Anteros' eyes sparkled with cruel excitement. Harsh and unforgiving. Like the other two love gods in the room.

"If you break my brother's heart, I will personally make sure you never experience love again," Anteros said, poison dripping from every word. Then he brightened up, "When's the wedding?"

Apollo choked and Artemis leaned over to thump him on the back. "When's the what?"

"The wedding," Anteros said slowly as if talking to a child.

"I not getting married," Apollo managed to say.

Hepheatus grinned, "He hasn't asked me to make a ring yet."

"Apollo do you want to wear a dress or tux? Also I've got to say Perseus looks quite marvelous in a dress," Aphrodite said. Taking her husband's side against Apollo.

Artemis grinned with glee, "Do you want me to start training some wolves to be ring bearers?"

Dionysus raised a hand, "Can I be in charge of the drinks?"

"I call best man!" Hermes yelled.

Athena joined in, "Do you want me to draw up some ring designs my darling brother?"

"I hate all of you."

Artemis ruffled his hair much to his displeasure. "No you don't. You love us really."

Apollo grumbled, "I've changed my mind."

Percy groaned, drawing all attention to him. His breathing sped up and he curled into a fetal position. He awoke with a shake. Staring in front of him with pure purpe eyes.

Apollo felt several pairs of eyes on him as he walked over to Percy. He ignored all of them. Percy had his attention. Percy needed his attention.

Apollo sat on the ground beside him and put a hand on his arm. "Percy."

Percy flinched away, groaning, lifting a hand to his head. Trying to cover his eyes.

"Percy, its me, Apollo." Apollo tried again, putting his hand back on Percy's arm. This time Percy didn't flinch away or push his hand off. Apollo took that as an incentive to move closer. Still giving the ex-demigod space, but close enough that he could hold onto him if Percy wished.

"'Pollo?" Percy mumbled. He squinted up at the son god.

"Yeah its me, here let me help you up." Apollo helped Percy into a sitting position where the loyalty god leaned heavily on the older god.

Then, without warning, Percy pulled Apollo into a bone-crushing hug. Apollo returned the hug, just not as strong as he tried not to wince.

"What happened?" Apollo asked.

Percy tensed, as if debating whether to tell Apollo or not.

Apollo guessed that he'd had two entirely different dreams. Maybe more than two, but Apollo had been keeping an eye on him since he'd set him down. He'd only came close to waking once, the next time he had reacted to something in his head he had woken up.

Percy sighed, "It was Ta- Ta- T-"

"Our hell?"

"Yeah."

"Was he there too?"

"Yeah."

"What did he say?"

"He tried to say something but I told him to shove it up his ass," Percy said with a slight grin. This warrented some laughs from the gods.

Triton flashed back in after taking his sweet time to get the god who he was currently holding hands with. The other god was dark haired, dark skinned, dark well everything. Even his black feathered wings upon his back fit the aesthetic. Muscled chest and thickly curled hair.

"Hello Thanatos, what are you doing holding my son's hand?" Posiedon asked, his fatherly protection instinct kicking in. "Triton is there something you haven't told me?"

"TRITON HAS A BOYFRIEND! TRITON HAS A BOYFRIEND! TRITON HAS A BOYFRIEND!" the two immortal love gods started singing, dancing around. Just acting like idiots in general, it wasn't hard for them to do.

"What?" Triton spluttered.

Thanatos smirked over at the green skinned god, "You didn't tell them?"

"Oh shut up," Triton muttered.

"What would you like me to do instead?" Thanatos said just before Triton squeaked and vanished into sea mist.

Apollo switched his attention back to Percy who squeezed Apollo even tighter.

"Poseidon's fighting fork, Percy watch the ribs."

Poseidon was offended, "My what?"

Apollo glanced over to the older god and saw Triton hiding on his fathers shoulder.

"Hey Thanatos," Apollo said smirking while Triton shook his head. "Your boyfriend, you know Triton is hiding behind his Dad."

Percy lessened his grip on Apollo and leaned back to be face-to-face with him. Apollo's breathing quickened at the close proximity but he knew that Percy wouldn't appreciate it if he kissed him now. Especially in front of his father and siblings. The latter definitely would never let him forget about it.

"Triton has a boyfriend?" he asked with a grin.

"Hold on a second, Triton has a what?" Kym screeched. Not listening to any conversation before Percy had woken up.

"Can you drop it?" Triton yelled, holding onto Poseidon's ear. He must have been holding on tightly if the pained look of Posiedon's face was anything to go by.

"NEVER!"

Triton groaned and Poseidon decided that he didn't like his ear being pulled on. So he flicked is son off his shoulder. Sending him flying off to the side where he was caught by a certain death god.

"LETS GET BACK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND HERE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH," Zeus thundered.

"But thats boring," Percy muttered.

"Do you even know what he's talking about?" Apollo asked

Percy grinned, "No."

Apollo wanted to close the distance between them. To feel Percy's lips on his own once again. He didn't know how to say what he was feeling, or Zeus' mini masterbolt what he was thinking. His only option was to express it some other way, affection, touch. Thats what he always resorted to when his words failed him. Whether it was hugging someone or grabbing their hand. Right now, every instinct in him was telling him to kiss Percy.

So that is exactly what he did.

It was bliss. Percy instantly melted into the kiss, taking it upon himself to allow slip his tongue into Apollo's mouth. Tugging on his hair, turning Apollo into a moaning mess.

They were broken apart by a shrill wistle, done by yours truly: Anteros.

"Now that we have clearly established who is top and who is bottom can we get back to the important thing," the god of requited love said.

Zeus sighed in relief, "Finally, someone agrees. Now lets discuss what triggered Perseus-"

Anteros cut the king of gods off, "No I wasn't talking about that. I meant what us love gods and Hades know but Apollo doesn't. It's far more interesting."

Percy was interested, "What does Apollo not know?"

"Thats what I'd like to know," Apollo complained. Loving the look that Percy gave him.

Hades propped himself up on his elbows, "Perseus, those dreams you've been having. Its about them."

Percy frowned, "The ones about T- hell?"

"No the other ones," Hades said ever so vaguely.

"Oh right, those dreams," Percy said seemingly understanding the vagueness.

The suspense was killing Apollo. Figuratively not literally. Part of him wanted to try look into Percy's mind but the rest of him was saying that it was a bad idea. Also the majority of him was saying that it wouldn't work. Gods can't look into the minds of other gods.

Also now that Percy was understanding the vagueness that Hades loved to use. He really needed to find out what it was.

"Do you know what they mean?" Aphrodite asked as Hades climbed to his feet.

Percy shrugged and followed Hades' example of standing straight. "I took a guess, its a stupid one."

"And what guess would that be baby fish?" Eros asked.

"Memories of a past life," Percy shrugged. "I told you it was stupid."

Anteros cut off his brother before he could go into a put of self-loathing. "No, no. You're right."

Percy froze just as he was hauling Apollo to his feet. Dropping the sun god. Leaving Apollo to land flat on his ass.

"I am?"

"Come on starfish, you are a lot smarter than you look," Eros said.

"So I'm-" Percy started.

"Yes you are," Aphrodite said.

"Wow, just wow."

Apollo had gotten himself to his feet by the time that Percy decided to unfreeze.

He really wanted to know what they were talking about.

"Anyone want to share with the class who Percy was in a past life?" Hermes asked, asking the question that was on the tip of Apollo's tongue.

"I could show you," Eros proposed. "But Apollo you must promise not to freak out."

"Why would I freak out?" Apollo asked.

Zeus groaned and slumped down in his throne from the lack of attention he was receiving. He must be starving!

Eros made a 'calm down' gesture. "Just trust me on this, ok?"

Apollo made the promise.

Eros cleared his throat, "Zephyros."

Apollo cursed under his breath but stopped when Percy put a hand on his arm. Just the simple touch was enough to make Apollo calm down.

"Well hello Eros, it has been quite a while," said the smug god, appearing in a gust in wind.

"Hello-"

The wind god pulled Eros into a quick hug.

Apollo looked away, leeching onto Percy's hand in an attempt to stay sane.

"Zephyros look around. You see the god holding Apollo's hand, what is his name?" Eros said.

"Apollo is he-" the smug voice trailed off.

Apollo looked back to see the wind god staring directly at Percy. The god had lost all his smug qualities, he looked amazed that Percy was just simply standing there. He took a step forward, then another and another. Until he was standing only a mere meter away from Percy.

"Hyacinthus," said Zephyros quietly. As if Percy would collapse into dust if he spoke too loudly. "It's really you, I'm so sorry. I never meant for you to die. I'm so so sorry."

Zephyros was standing too close to Percy for Apollo's liking, and he was talking to Percy as if he was Hyacinthus. That was just plain disrespectful. Hyacinthus was dead, no thanks to Zephyros.

Apollo stepped closer to Percy, "His name is Percy, not Hyacinthus." He glared at the wind god, wishing that ge could smite him. But he made a promise. If Apollo was anything, he was a god of his word. He would never go back on it.

Hyacinthus was gone. As much as Apollo hated to admit it, there was no bringing back from the dead. Well there was but to Apollo death was- is final. He knew what he was getting into when he fell for Hyacinthus. He knew that he would die, while Apollo wouldn't have aged a day. He knew they would never get to be together for forever. It was a ticking game, just savouring the moments while they happened.

Percy said something under his bteath that neither wind nor sun god managed to hear.

"What was that?" Apollo asked.

"But it used to be," Percy said, looking up at Apollo. Eyes glassy. "That used to be my name."

Apollo's breath caught in his throat.

No, no it couldn't be, but then it could. Percy reminded Apollo of Hyacinthus every single day. Every second they spent together. It brought back all the grief Apollo had went through when Hyacinthus had passed. All because Apollo was stupid enough to anger Zephyros. Hyacinthus died because of Apollo.

Apollo knew this. He had known it ever since Hyacinthus' first drop of blood had been spilled. It was his fault, all of it. Zephyros was the easiest to blame. Thats why Apollo wished to take his anger out on him.

"But Hyacinthus died," Apollo said, tears threatened to fall down his face.

Percy smiled, the tears falling freely down his face. "Ever heard of reincarnation, firefly?"

Apollo pulled Percy into a hug. The nickname sold it for him. Percy really was Hyacinthus. No-one else had ever called him that. He let the tears fall as he apologised over and over. Apologising for everything. For his death, for angering Zephyros. For everything.

"I do have one question though," Percy said, leaning back so they could be face to face.

Zeus grumbled about something but Apollo didn't listen. It was just him and Percy. No Olympians. No annoying wind god. Just Percy.

Apollo smiled, "Anything."

Percy looked down, "Does what you said still stand? Do you still love me? Actually you know what don't answer that it was millennia ago, so you probably-"

Apollo silenced him with a kiss just as Percy was about to step out of their embrace.

Apollo channeled everything into that kiss. All his love for both Hyacinthus and Percy. His devotion. His pain after his death. His protectiveness, willingness to go to the ends of the universe if Percy should ask.

Percy poured all his heart, soul and every drop of emotion into the kiss as well.

That single kiss meant so much more than everything else they had done together. All the other kisses they had shared. All the jokes, banter, tender moments.

When they broke apart Apollo put their forheads together. "I never stopped loving you. I am still so much in love with you Hyacinthus, Percy. Whatever you want to go by."

Percy smiled, "Percy is fine."

"Alright then. Percy, I love you." The words left Apollo's mouth so easily that he wondered why it wasn't the most common thing to say. Just a simple 'I love you' was so powerful. It made him feel like he was on heaven just by saying those three little words.

Technically he is on heaven but that's not important.

"I love you too Apollo," Percy replied.

"Is nobody going to talk about the trigger? Can we please talk about the trigger? Is no one worried about that?" Zeus complained. Doing what he does best: be annoying.

"NO!" Aphrodite, Artemis, Eros and Anteros all yelled together. Watching the couple embrace with rapt attention.

Zeus got to his feet and stalked out of the throne room in a childish tantrum. Nobody bat an eye or offered to go after him.

Posiedon's face suddenly went stern. "Triton just where do you think you're going?"

"Crap, come on run!"

"No thank you, your father is terrifying."
