Chapter Eleven

Thank you so so much for 2k reads. I love you all.

"I'm telling you Tri, it didn't mean anything. Just one night stand thats all," Percy said for what must've been the millionth time since they found out that him and Apollo had gotten 'close'.

Triton was not convinced, "Is that why your eyes still go yellow when I say his name?"

"We don't know why my eyes change colour! You said it was just an emotion thing."

Kym put an arm around Percy's shoulders. "Aww our poor brother is still in denial."

They were in Poseidon's underwater palace. Percy's room specifically. The one he'd been staying in for several days since the night of the party.

He hadn't seen Apollo since. He wouldn't admit it to his siblings but he missed him. He really did. It felt like his heart had been torn out of his chest and was out of reach while he bled out. Like his soul was ripped apart. Like he needed his other half back. His good half. His laugh, his love, his loyalty, stubbornness, protectiveness. He was still all those things but it seemed as if his better half had been stolen from him.

He'd felt like that ever since he moved into Poseidon's palace.

"Your eyes are dull, we know you miss him," Kym said one hand running through his hair. It felt nice, made him feel at home. It was odd, when he'd first met Kym it was more of a 'please don't kill me' kind of thing. Now their relationship had morphed into a mutual understanding, bringing comfort to the other.

The sea goddess had told him that she hated her marriage. Hated her home. Hated- well everything that she'd been forced into. Hated that she wasn't accepted.

Percy accepted her. He knew what it felt like to be the odd one out and didn't want his big sister to feel like that. Not anymore.

"I don't miss him. I just feel empty," Percy said, leaning his head onto Kym's shoulder. "I feel like I've lost my entire identity."

"How long have you felt like this?" Triton pressed. It was no secret to the other gods in Poseidon's temple that Perxy was feeling down. The only time they'd got him back to his old self was when him and Anteros were tricking everybody into thinking they were twins. 'It worked well enough at the party,' they reasoned, 'So it will work here too!'

"Since I got here, is there something in the nectar you've been giving me?" Percy said.

Kym kept running her hand through Percy's hair a frown on her features. "Bubbles."

"What?"

"Do you want to go to the mortal world?"

Triton cast her a look.

"I can go?" Percy asked hopeful.

"Well if we go with you and make sure nothing strenuous happens. Then yes, you can go," Kym said warmly. Smiling at the happy look on her brothers face. His eyes turning bright yellow.

"Can we go now then? Please please please."

Triton was having a staring contest with Kym. Kym won. Triton sighed.

"If you don't shut up we won't take you," Triton said while Kym wore a smug grin.

Percy nodded so fast the two siblings thought his head would fall off.

Kym pushed Percy off her shoulder and swam to the door. "We just have to tell Dad where we're taking you so he doesn't arrange a search party when he can't find us."

Percy swam after her. Triton went last, wondering how on Gaea's mountains he got stuck with babysitting duty.

"FATHER, OPEN UP WE'RE BRINGING THE DEPRESSED FISH IN," Kym yelled at the locked door to the throne room.

Poseidon quickly opened the door, "A fish is depressed?"

"Yes, Percy. Percy's the fish." Kym slipped past her father. Poseidon opened the door further for the other two to enter.

Poseidon engulfed Percy in a hug, tucking his son's head under his chin. Percy melted into the hug.

Poseidon pulled apart first when his son started squeezing the life out of him. "What's wrong? Did something happen? Do you want me to smite someone?"

Triton coughed something into his fist that sounded suspiciously like 'over protective'.

Kym then coughed 'Yup' into her own fist.

Poseidon cast his other children a look then looked back down to Percy who had dull grey eyes.

Percy just said, "No I'm ok. Blues wants to ask you something."

Kym made an offened noise, "I what now?"

Percy stuck his tongue out at her.

Poseidon and Triton sighed. Already used to their antics in the week that they had been living in the palace.

Poseidon raised an eyebrow at Kym. "What would you like to ask?"

Kym sputtered and cast Percy a dirty look. "Oh um you know what, I think Triton should say it."

"No it should definitely be Bubbles."

"It was Kym's idea!"

"Triton agreed to it! He's the oldest, therefore wisest so he should ask Father."

"Not a chance, Blues. Do it yourself."

"No!"

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

"Tragic."

"Is that the sound of you agreeing?"

"Nope!"

"Father likes you most."

"You're the middle child here."

"Exactly, the disappointment in the middle. So you say it."

"I didn't ask to be born first."

"But you were, so get over it."

"Rude."

"What are you- don't you dare try the puppy eyes on me, Triton. I will punch you in the face."

"You can't do that I'm bi."

"Bi? Seriously you're pulling the gay card?"

"Yas queen."

"Don't tell me you just quoted a tv show at me."

"I did and I'll keep doing it if you don't ask."

"Well I'm bisexual too, you aren't special."

"But you see, I can actually get a date."

"THATS BECAUSE I'M MARRIED YOU FAT-HEADED TARTARUS SPAWN."

"Are you calling me a devil spawn?"

"Was I wrong?"

Percy groaned, "HEY DAD CAN WE GO TO THE MORTAL WORLD?"

Poseidon froze, "What?"

"Lets take that as a yes," Triton said at the same time Kym said, "Great, lets go."

They each grabbed one of Percy's hands and swam out of the throne room as fast as they could.

"HEY WAIT THAT WASN'T A YES," Poseidon yelled after them but it fell on deaf ears. "Why did I want kids again?" He asked himself. Swimming back to his throne.

His wife came up behind him, "Hey love. Drachma for your thoughts?"

"Why did I want kids again? I can't remember," Poseidon said, sitting back in his throne.

Amphitrite sat on the arm of his throne, putting her tail on her husband's lap. "I wasted a drachma."

"You didn't give me one," Poseidon said looking up at her.

Amphitrite grinned down at him, "And you aren't getting one."

"Just one tragedy after another today."

"So dramatic." The sea goddess rolled her eyes. "You're a god Poseidon, you don't need anymore money."

"I think Zeus is trying to cut my wage," Poseidon said trying to get another laugh out of his wife. He was successful. Posiedon watched her entranced. "Are you a siren? Because I can't take my eyes off you."

"Wouldn't you like to know, weather boy."

"Is that a quote?"

Amphitrite grinned. She loved her husband but he was an idiot at times. This was one of them. "Yes, yes it is."

"It's an odd quote." Poseidon frowned. "Are you sure it is a quote my love?"

Amphitrite laughed and leaned in to press a quick kiss to her idiot's lips. "Yes I'm sure."

"Anything else that you can be sure about?" Poseidon asked with a grin.

"That you're an idiot."

"I'm a what now?"

"You heard me."

"Can I be your idiot?"

"You already are."
