#3 - Keeping Promises

Vincent's P.O.V.

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside. I looked around to see everyone asleep. I guess I have to wake my cousin up. I was about to get up when I heard mumbling. I looked over to the bed to see Aaron and Sebastian cuddling. Sebastian had a light tint of pink on his cheeks and he had a small smile on his face. I chuckled quietly. I guess I'll let him sleep for a few more minutes.

"Mmm... Vince, are you awake?" A voice asked me.

I turned around to see Scott. "Yeah. I'm awake." I said.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked. He looked over to where Aaron and Sebastian were and smiled. "Aww, that's adorable."

I smiled. "I know. My little cousin is growing up so fast." I said, wiping a tear from my eye.

Scott chuckled and patted my back. "Anyways, I think we should get started on making breakfast." He said.

"Right behind ya!" I said as I followed Scott to the kitchen.

Sebastian's P.O.V.

Happiness. That was all I felt. When Aaron hugged me, and whispered comforting words into my ear, all of the fear went away. I felt his strong arms around me. I opened my eyes to see that I was incredibly close to his face. My face instantly heated up as a blush spread across my face. Maybe I could... I leaned in closer to his face, my lips inches away from his. My heart was beating really fast. I wasn't sure if this is a good idea, but.... I heard Aaron starting to wake up. I immediately pulled away, trying to cover up my face.

Aaron yawned a bit and opened his eyes. "Good morning Sebastian. Did you sleep well?"

"Y-Yeah, I did." I stuttered. He hoped that he doesn't see me like this. He clearly has no idea what I almost...

"Are you okay?" He asked.

I nodded. "Yeah... I am." I said.

"Alright. If there is anything bothering you, you tell one of us." He said

"Alright." I said, smiling. "Is that breakfast I smell?" Mike said as he got up. "Yep. It is." I said. "Breakfast!" He screamed and darted out of the room. "*sigh* Oh, Mike. Come on, Aaron. Breakfast is ready." I said, holding his hand.

Aaron smiled and we both walked to the kitchen.

Vincent was with Scott making some pancakes. Fritz was sitting in his chair with a cheerful smile on his face and Jeremy was sitting next to Mike. Vincent saw me and Aaron and smiled. "Good morning, you two." He said.

"Good morning guys." Aaron said.

"Did you two sleep well?" Vincent said. I nodded. "Yep. We did."

"That's good." Vincent said. "I'm making pancakes. Would you like some?" He asked.

"Sure." I replied.

Scott got the pancakes on the plate and set it down in front of us. I looked at the pancakes that had designs on them. Vincent makes these designs whenever he makes pancakes for me. I smiled. They are really cute. I took the kitty one and made cat noises.

Aaron chuckled. "You're an adorable kitty" He said as he ruffled my hair.

I blushed. "Thank you." I said. Mike saw this and smirked. "Ooo, does Sebastian have a crush on someone?" He asked, but Kevin smacked the back of his head. "No, Mike! I don't!" I shouted. "Yeah right!" Mike said, smirking.

"Let him be, Mike." Aaron said. "Even if that were true, he wouldn't tell you because you'd blab it to the world with that big mouth of yours."

"My lips are sealed! I haven't told anyone about his power! And I certainly wouldn't tell anyone that Sebastian might be in love with someone!" He said. I covered my face in embarrassment. "Oh my god, Mike! Will you shut up?!" Vincent screamed. We turned to see Vincent, who's clearly pissed off. "Can't you see that Sebastian doesn't want to talk to you about it because you're gonna spread it all over the school? It is his business and his business only! So I suggest you leave my cousin out of this!"

Mike was clearly hurt by Vincent's words. "Uhh, Vincent, I think you took it a little too far." Kevin whispered. "I'm sorry... I..." "No, it's fine, Mike." I said. "Like Aaron said, you are the one that usually spreads rumors around the school. But when it comes to us, you would take our secrets to the grave, right?" I asked him. "Yeah." He replied. "But, there are some things that we don't want to talk about and there are some things on my mind that I just didn't want to tell you guys. Anyways, back to the topic at hand, are you serious when you said that you haven't told anyone about my power?" I asked him. He nodded. "Yeah. I haven't told anyone about this. Only me and all of us know." He said. "Good. We don't want everyone at school to find out. Who knows when one of them could be working for Sandra." I said.

"But everyone thinks that she's dead. How can anyone work for her when they think she's dead?" Kevin asked. "Well, that's where cronies come to mind. She probably kidnaps people and make them work for her so that she gets the people she wants closer to her." I said. "But... won't people tell their friends about this?" Vincent asked. "Well, maybe she threatened to kill them so that they were too scared to tell anyone. At least, that's what I think." I said.

"Sebastian has a point." Aaron said. "We don't know what she's planning, therefore, I think we should be cautious of who we are hanging out with from now on."

"Aaron's right." Vincent said. I looked at everyone. "Thank you, everyone." I said. "No problem, dude. We'll do anything to help you." Mike said. Kevin looked at the clock. "Well, I think it's time to start heading to school." He said.

"Kevin's right. I don't think any of us want to be late." Scott said.

"Yeah. Let's go." Vincent said. We all got our stuff and walked to school.

On the walk to school, we kept our guard up. We looked around to see if anyone's watching us. Okay, maybe we're getting a little bit paranoid, but Sandra could be hiding anywhere. We don't want her to attack us when we least expect it.

Vincent's P.O.V.

When we finally arrived at school, we got to our lockers and paid attention to what the kids were saying. Of course, the kids are talking about their usual crap, but you can never be too careful. I looked over to a group of guys talking when I heard their phone ringing. The guy with short, black hair pulled his phone out of his pocket. "Sorry, my phone's ringing. I'll be right back." He said and ran to the bathroom. I followed him and pressed my ear against the door to see if I can hear anything.

"Hello?"

"Ugh, Sandra! I told you not to call me while I'm at school!"

I froze. Sandra's calling that guy... So it seems like he's her crony.

"Look, like I said, that was a one time thing. I don't wanna do it again!"

Then, silence. I could tell that Sandra's threatening the guy as the tone of his voice changed.

"W-What did you say you'll do...?"

"Well... I guess it wouldn't hurt to do it one more time."

I could feel my heart pounding in my ears.

"How about tonight at my house?"

"Okay. Well, see you tonight."

"Ugh... I can't believe I'm doing this."

I moved from my place quietly to avoid suspicion and went back to the others. I had to tell them about this!

The others were hanging out at their usual place when they heard me come to them with a panicked look. "Vincent? What happened?" Scott asked, concerned.

"Sandra... she was calling that guy... I think his name is Ryan, I believe. I think he's one of her cronies." I told them.

"Oh my god." Fritz said quietly. Scott began to rub my back as Aaron tried his best to comfort me.

Kevin's P.O.V.

I watched as Scott and Aaron comforted Vincent. Poor guy. I looked over to the group of guys when the brunette came back. "Who was the person who called you?" One of his friends asked. "Oh... Um... it's just an old friend." He replied. "Really? You never said that you had any old friends." Another one of his friends said. "Well, it was really sudden and, since I was really busy getting him settled in, I guess I forgot to tell you guys." He explained. "Okay... If you say so." His friend said. I ran my hand through my hair. This is starting to get really scary. Not only is there a crazy psycho killer out to get us, but people are working with her behind our backs. I looked at Sebastian. It seems like he's the only one who can help us in this situation. "I hope all of this gets settled soon." I said to myself.

Fritz looked at me. "I'm scared." He whispered.

I hugged him. "Shh... Don't worry. It's all gonna be okay. The police are gonna get Sandra and we'll go back to our normal lives, okay?" I comforted him.

Fritz hugged back and tears formed in his eyes. "But what if that never happens? What if she kills all of us?"

"Fritz, I assure you the police are doing everything they can to find her. They have security footage from the previous night, so the police might have a lead. Besides, we got Sebastian here to help us. With his ability, I'm sure he'll prevent what Sandra's planning. We'll all survive through this. I know we can." I said

Fritz hugged me tightly and sobbed into my chest. I looked over to where Mike was and saw him comforting Jeremy.

"Shh... It's okay, Jeremy. It's all gonna be okay." Mike said.

Jeremy continued to cry as Mike rubbed his back. He slowly began to calm down with a few sniffles and tears escaping his eyes.

"Are you feeling better, Jeremy?" He asked.

"A little." He responded.

Mike wiped the tears from his eyes and hugged him. "Don't worry. It's all gonna be okay." He said.

Jeremy hugged back. "Okay Mike. I believe you." He said.

I watched the whole thing and smiled. Mike truly is amazing. He's always been there for Jeremy and it shows. I know I should look on the bright side, but... what if Fritz is right? What if the police never catch her? Will she catch up to us and kill us all? No... I shouldn't think like that. I have to be strong... For my friends. Anthony wouldn't want to see me as weak. But... I just... don't know what to do...

Fritz began to rub my back. "Don't worry Kevin. It'll be okay just like you said." He said.

I looked up at Fritz and smiled. "Thank you, Fritz." I said.

"You're welcome Kevin." He said.

Then, the school bell rang. "Well, we better be heading to class." Sebastian said.

"Maybe we should stick together going to our classes." Scott suggested.

"Good idea, Scott." Mike said.

Jeremy held Mike's hand, Fritz with me, Scott with Vincent, and Aaron with Sebastian.

Sebastian's P.O.V.

We all went to homeroom and sat at our desks. We tried to work on our assignments, but we can't stop thinking about what Sandra's doing. Sandra's been causing an uproar in the town, but many people in school are in denial that Sandra's alive. The few people that did find out she's alive were kidnapped and used as her slaves to do her dirty work. I feel like she's planning something. Something big to get us all killed.

"Attention. Could you please bring Mike Schmidt, Jeremy Fitzgerald, Fritz Smith, Scott Cawthon, Vincent Jones, Aaron Richardson and Sebastian Jones to the office, please?" The announcement said.

The room went silent. You could have heard a pin drop. Jeremy began to get nervous and looked ready to cry. Mike went over to him and began to comfort him again.

"Shh... it's okay, Jeremy. It's okay." He said.

Jeremy stopped crying but still looked scared. We all got up from our desks began making our way to the office.

The principal was sitting at her desk when we arrived. "Ah, you guys are here." She said. "Why did you call us here?" I asked her. "Well, there's someone outside who wants to talk to you all." She explained.

We all turned pale at the thought of the person being Sandra, but we kept our composure. "Who is it?" Fritz squeaked.

The principal put her finger on her chin. "It's one of the detectives from the police station." She said.

We all nodded our heads. We already knew why.

"He's waiting outside." The principal said, pointing to the door.

We all looked at each other, giving each other reassuring glances, before heading out the door.

Outside was a man wearing a detective coat. He was leaning against one of the poles when he saw us. "Are you the kids who were at the late night cafe last night?" He asked in a serious tone. "Yes. Yes we are." I replied. He pulled out his badge from his pocket. "My name is detective Austin Miller. I'm here to ask you kids a few questions about the Sandra case." He introduced himself.

"We would be happy to answer them." Mike said.

"Alright, so are any of you related to Sandra?" He asked. I nodded. "Yes. Me and Vincent are related to her. She is my step-sister. She... wasn't really a good kid and pinned all the trouble on me at home and at school, so... One day, we..." I looked down. I couldn't tell him what really happened. I was scared that he'll put me in jail. "She... died in an accident. I... tried my best to save her, but it was too late." I said. Austin put a hand on my shoulder. "I understand how hard it is to lose a family member." He said. "Yeah... I know." He looked down. "But, it's strange." He said. "How is it strange?" Vincent asked. "Well, the police and paramedics did confirm that Sandra was dead, however when a morgue worker went to prepare the body for the funeral, it had disappeared."

All of us looked at each other. "Makes no sense." Fritz muttered.

"Yeah... it's very strange. How could she have survived the accident?" Kevin asked. "Well... there is someone else who was working with her." Austin said.

"We believe we may know who you may be talking about." Aaron said. He looked over to Vincent. "Wanna tell him?"

Vincent nodded. "Well, there are some people who are working with Sandra. One of the people working with her is named Ryan. I overheard him in the bathroom. He was talking on the phone with Sandra." He explained. Austin listened and nodded his head. "Hmm... That's very interesting. Now we know what one of her cronies are. We'll keep an eye on him to see if he does anything suspicious." He said.

"Thank you sir." Scott said.

"You're welcome. You're allowed to go back to your classes. Just make sure that none of you are alone." Austin said. "Don't worry. We know. Thank you again, sir." I said. "You're welcome." He said, giving us a warm smile. And with that, he got in his car and drove off.

Jeremy smiled. "That man was nice." He said.

"Yep. He sure was." Mike said. "Well, we better be heading back to class." Vincent said.

"Yeah, we should." Scott said, agreeing with him.

We all went back inside the school and went back to homeroom.

???'s P.O.V.

I stand at the door of the office, trying to fight back tears. Why...? Why did this have to happen...? Why did she do that...? I took a deep breath. No... I shouldn't cry... I have to be strong... For Kevin... I opened the door and stepped inside.

"Yes, how can I- Oh! Mr. Evans! It's nice to see you again."

"Where's Kevin?!?" I asked the person at the front desk.

"He's in homeroom with his friends. Why?" She asked me.

"I just wanted to know." I replied. "Where is his homeroom?"

"It's on the second floor, three doors to the right." She said.

"Thanks Ma'am." I said and began to go to the location. When I got there, I gently knocked on the door.
