Five- Persephone
This one's by Story_Teller_oxoo. Prolly why it's so awesome!
I waited for Caleb at the school gates, today had been a rough day. I don't know I just wanted as concentrated as normal.
Probably excited about this gig. Excited about something in my little boring life.
Thank-god for Caleb. All the other students were rushing out of the school as the bell rang through my ears, some were desperate to get to the sweet shop, others the bus, and the rest just ran, nearly getting run over by cars on the way. How I loved my school. Did I mention how hard it was to be sixteen? Well that would be over seen when I'm 17.
"Hey you!" I turned once I heard Caleb's voice. His tall figure crowding over me, he wrapped his arms around me in a small embrace. My eyes trailed down to his clothes to see that he was wearing a crisp white t-shirt, a black blazer and pants with some shows. Casual.
"I'm going to go in my school uniform am I?"
"We'll walk to yours." He replied.
"Ugh," I breathed propping my bag over my shoulder. "Fine." As we walked he swung an arm over me.
"So how was your day?" I asked.
"Suckish." Caleb rolled his green eyes. "Miss Hart is a bitch. She can't teach!"
"I know that feeling when you was going on about this bloody gig."
"What can I say? you never do anything exciting!"
We carried on talking in deep conversation, by the time we were at my house. I ran in as Caleb waited outside. I ran upstairs getting changed into skinny jeans and a floaty white top with a denim jacket. After that I ran back down only to get stopped by my mother.
"Where you going, love?"
"I've got a project with Caleb. Science." I replied.
My mother gave me a small glare before wandering outside. We didn't look like we were going to a gig anyway... "Is this true Caleb?"
"The project...for science?"
My mother rolled her eyes giving me a small kiss on my head. "Don't be late, sweetheart."
"I won't." I nodded remembering that I would come home safe anyway with Caleb. His dad would bring us back I'm sure. Me and Caleb wandered down the street holding our hand's together, swinging our arms in one motion. We got to the end of the street going into town. Caleb got his ticket's out.
"How are we getting there?"
"I thought train at first, but, my dad can take us."
"Your dad?"
"Yeah."
"Your dad."
"Yes, silly!" Caleb gave a grin guiding me towards a car. His dad was laying in the car listening to rock music, the same as this morning. I sighed before slumping into the back seat.
"Seph! How are you lovely?"
"I'm good Jack." I replied as he turned down his music we sped off down the road and onto the motorway. I leaned against the window thinking about this gig over and over. What would it be like? would it be fun? Interesting? Would I get crushed by thousands of hardcore rock fans?
Probably.
I yawned as the car carried on, the others speeding past one after another. I suddenly felt tired.
--
I fluttered my eyes open to see unknown territory. There was a line of shops, the night's sky filled my eyes, the stairs shining back. I sat up dazed and be-wielded. Caleb and Jack were starring at me. How could I fall asleep? Was I really that tired after 6 hours of school? Maybe it was the worrying.
"Sleepy head..."
"Shut up Caleb." I groaned rubbing my eyes hearing crowds of people all walking towards the same venue in the distance. The stage lights shining from the inside. I had woken up a little when Caleb opened my side. I stepped out feeling the cold air hit my skin and breeze through my hair. Caleb linked up to me.
"Have fun!" Jack shouted out his window turning his radio up again before driving away from us. I gave a small chuckle when Caleb pulled out his tickets, his arm still around me as we cut the queue. What were we doing? He showed the guard at the front of the queue our tickets and we were let in, we went into the big and spacious venue. It looked like something out of the 1980's. Retro and vintage.
We both ran to the front in the middle so we were in-front of the microphone. The others were let in moment's after and the crowd started to form. Caleb put his arm around me when the light's started flashing, the drummer produced a beat and the crowd screamed. Normally we would have to wait - Gigs normally have a support act. Not this one. Straight into the madness. It was only a small gig though, about 500 people.
The lead singer strove in confidence as he appeared with a scream. The rest of the band joined in.
He was tall. Really tall. About 6,1, shaggy disheveled raven hair, pale skin. He was the definition of rock and roll. His Elvis Costello sunglasses shielded the stage lights. He took them off. His mahogany velvet jacket was hanging off him and his leather black pants shone. When his lips touched the mic, his green hypnotizing eyes made eye contact with me, long eyelashes fluttered.
"Are we ready to rock?" He screamed to which the crowd cheered, he lifted his guitar over his shoulder. The music had begun.
Hope you liked it! Comment, vote, and show some love!
