{A/N} Before y'all get started, this is when Lizzie is 14, not 10, and Jake is 19, not 15. Also, the image above is a charm Jake made for Lizzie for her 12th birthday, it's on her camp necklace, which she never takes off.

BTW, Macomb High Bombers is the school, I figured it was appropriate for demigods... lol

Now, on with the chapter!

*Lizzie's POV*

"Hey, nerd!" a familiar, but not comforting voice called down the hallway of Macomb High at me.

Oh boy, I thought, here come my school bullies Dawn, the senior slut and Chad, a senior jock, and on such joyous day as this. "What do you want?" I snapped out.

"Hey calm down Elizabeth." Yeah, I hadn't told anyone my nickname, that was reserved for my family. " I just wanted to know, what are you doing this summer?" Dawn asked, a seemingly innocent question, though I knew she always had malicious intent when it comes to me.

"I am going to camp with my friend Jake so I can see my sisters and brothers." I snapped at them

"Oh you mean your imaginary friend Jake, the one you made up? He's not real, no one would hang out with you ugly."

"Yeah, totally ugly." Another one agreed the rest cracked up into laughter, I felt my cheeks burn. I felt sad. I didn't do a thing to them and yet they treated me like trash.

I heard the sound of a familiar horn to a familiar white ford pickup truck, it halted by the curb and Jake hopped out, I ran over to him and gave him a hug, he swung me in a circle and set me o my feet, ruffling my hair.

It left Dawn speechless but she recovered herself and walked over to us, along with her posse of bullies and jocks, they all sized Jake up.

then, Dawn just had to speak up, of course, "What's a guy like you doing with a girl like her? I'm way better than her." She purred.

Jake looked mildly disgusted, "uh... No, believe me, you aren't." He responded. I giggled just a bit at that.

Chad stepped forward, "what did you say?" getting protective of his twin

"I said, she isn't all that great, now come on, Lizzie we have a camp to get to." As we were walking away I'm guessing this kid sucker punched Jake in the back jake spun around and kicked him in the jaw. The kid dropped, but got up and swung Jake dodged and sent an uppercut his way. The others stay back, Jake then looks at Dawn and says, "if I ever hear you or anyone else" as he gestures to the crowd that had formed, "say ugly things to Lizzie I'll be back in you'll pay deeply. Now, come on Lizzie we have a camp to visit."
