The year was that of 107 After the Conquest and Lord Corlys Velaryon came to the fort with the excuse of discussing commercial routes. Princess Aerea, more astute than accredit, knew it was the way her brother, the Rogue Prince, found to petition support in the war for the Stepstones.

On the behalf of the lord of the fort, Princess Aerea answered: "Tell my brother House Nartaelos will only assist once he sets foot in Dreimunt and asks my husband. With the respect he's owed."

Perhaps judging Prince Daemon too proud and stubborn to comply with such demands. In point of fact, Dreimunt saw Caraxes descend in a fortnight. The request was far from dignified, at least by her standards, but the honorable Lord Vanarr wasn't the type of man to run from battle.
