You're a human mercenary who battles with twin war axes.
As much as I'm not fond of Kili and even less fond of writing about him, I'll be murdered if I don't give him some limelight. Admittedly, he has nice aesthetics made for him.

Thorin watched Y/N closely as the group entered Mirkwood.
The human was getting along well with her companions and entertaining them all with tales of her various contracts, Fili and Kili eager to hear about the jobs Y/N had done for dwarves they knew back in the Blue Mountains.
The wizard had left them at the mouth of the forest and they ended up getting totally lost underneath the thick canopy of trees, the company eventually ending up walking around in circles.
Fallen leaves crunched underfoot as the dwarves eventually started a fight, becoming so caught up in their activities that Thorin had to inform them that something was watching.

'I'll be right back.' Murmured Y/N.

The group watched as the mercenary plunged fearlessly into the undergrowth, the melodic clacking of her beads fading rapidly as she moved further away from the dwarves.
The distraction of losing a member left them easy prey as enormous spiders descended from above and forcefully wrapped them all in thick gauzy webbing, suspending the company in the trees.
Bilbo was the first to awake from his slumber, swiftly cutting himself free and scampering onto a branch to assess the situation. Shadows moved in the branches above him, enormous arachnids scuttling between trees and clicking their mandibles ferociously at one another.
It was some time later when Bilbo had successfully managed to free the dwarves that the spiders showed again, this time being killed by arrows from the shadows. Y/N erupted from the bushes near Kili, her dual war axes a whirlwind of death as she decimated two spiders at once with a flurry of slashes and cuts.

'You did us a service in leading us to them, Y/L/N. King Thranduil would speak with you upon our return.' The leader of the elves commented.

'How dare you betray us?' Hissed Kili as he was shunted past the mercenary. 'We trusted you!'

Y/N turned away from the dark-haired Prince, letting him know she wasn't in the mood.

'Before me you bring Oakenshield and his company. Interesting.' Drawled the Elvenking. 'I suppose you'd ask something of me in return?'

'Just for safe passage to Laketown, King Thranduil.'

The majestic Ellon barely inclined his head in agreement before shooing Y/N off with a very royal wrist flick. Thorin was fuming quietly as Y/N swept past in brand new Elvish armour of cobalt blue, the colour of the house of Durin.
The mercenary had fled Mirkwood at once, following the river on horseback to Laketown where she decided to see if anyone was wealthy enough to hire her.
One of the residents known as Bard the Bowman promised Y/N a place to sleep if she became a guard on his barge and at the entrance to Laketown, instructing her to let him through no matter what cargo he had with him.
The mercenary agreed to do pretty much anything Bard asked of her and wasn't afraid to get on the wrong side of the law here in Laketown considering the amount of coin she had on her and the fact that the guards were all as corrupt as Saruman the White.

Most misty mornings Y/N would wake before the rest of the town and head up to the barge checkpoint in full armour and decked out with weapons so she could ensure that she had the post to herself when Bard arrived, allowing the mercenary to give him free passage when he pulled up hours later.
The pair had agreed not to call their arrangement strictly "corrupt", instead opting to call it "common behaviour" given the mannerisms of most of the locals (save for Bard).
One morning several days after Y/N had arrived, the armour-clad woman boarded Bard's barge for the barrel run, which wasn't an unusual occurrence as she usually came with him for the day and kept an eye out for potential threats.

Today, they decided to ambush some dwarves who had stolen the barrels they needed.
