Chapter Thirty-Five

when things go sideways

3rd person pov

the next day there selene stood in the dojo after they had put on their gi and was beginning to start training, they stood next to kenny as they taught him the moves, they had found out that miguel and robby were going to have a baby sister and so they were extremely excited for them.  

"thanks for helping me , you don't have to do that" kenny said to them and selene shrugged their shoulders with a smile

"anytime, i want to be able to help you" selene spoke and then he nudged them as they turned to tory and sam who were fighting but they weren't fighting. selene walked over to miguel and robby as devon walked over to the trio and turned to miguel and selene 

"your girlfriends are broken, what the hell did you guys do?" devon asked and selene turned to miguel and then robby 

"they didn't do anything, theyre just friends now" robby stated in defense of selene and miguel 

"yeah they went from war to cold war to peace" miguel spoke and selene sighed 

"but for some reason, i don't think thats a good thing and neither does sensai" selene said nudging their head in the direction of johnny who was watching them closely 

"piece of crap fighting" devon retorted and then she walked away from the trio as they looked at each other and then sighed 

"do you think that we should be helping them?" miguel asked selene as they walked off together with robby and selene shook their head 

"i don't, heres the thing. johnny has been going on and on about how girls are easy and how hes a girl dad now and i think that he needs to spend some time with the girls which is why i know that hes conjuring some stupid fucking plan and while he does that, i am going to avoid it because it doesn't sound smart" they spoke and miguel turned to robby 

"movie night with hawk and demetri?" miguel asked selene and robby who turned to each other and made eye contact as they nodded and then turned back to miguel 

"yeah i guess so" selene spoke because then they soon heard johnny tell devon to call her dad because the girls were going over to her house and selene shook their head 

"and thats the stupid fucking plan" selene spoke and miguel chuckled as the trio walked over to demetri and eli to tell them about the movie night and they nodded in agreement. eli was set on the snacks and demetri would get the drinks where as miguel would set the stuff up and selene and robby would be in charge of making sure everything was set and good to go. they spent the new 2-3 hours training together and mainly focusing on the hand-eye coordination that selene oh so loved.

"is tory gonna be okay?" kenny asked selene as they helped him up after they beat him yet again, he just wanted to keep trying and selene would keep helping because sometimes you needed to be knocked down to know that you could get back up and keep going even when everything was hard and you hated it. 

"i think so, the issue is that they've hated each other for so long its hard to put it behind them. the only reason they hate each other is cause sam accused tory of stealing her moms wallet when they first met and even when sam knew that tory didn't do it, she still had it out for her and then the hatred kept growing. sam dated miguel, then they broke up and miguel dated tory but he kissed sam while he was with tory, tory saw and the big fight at school happened and since then its been hard for them to even let go of a grudge. sam only saw the bad in tory but never the good and it was hard for people in cobra kai because everyone thought they were bad, the people weren't bad, the sensais were and ill forever stand by that. i wish that people would've listened when we said that you guys needed to get out and just leave cobra kai but i get why you didn't" selene explained and kenny stared 

"is there anything else i should know that nobodys told me? because i didn't know any of this until right now" he said and selene sighed 

"theres a lot more, hawks real name is eli, he joined cobra kai with me, demetri and miguel because we were being bullied but soon it all got in his head, he broke demetris arm, turned on everyone and stayed in cobra kai for too long. he was aggressive and rude and the worse person i ever met but he changed and for the better. I used to be called scorpion, however i left cobra kai when everything changed because i didn't like kreese or silver. theres alot of things that nobody says because we want to put it behind us but we can't really do that when we're reminded of it. robby was the one that pushed miguel and put him in a como and then it all got bad, there was so much anger and sadness just all around. im skipping around alot too, there was a girl named aisha and she was really cool but her parents had her transferred because cobra kai was really bad for her. theres more but i don't want to flood your brain with it all" selene said and kenny stared at them and then shook his head 

"i never even knew all of that, and you all just somehow managed to come together and work it out?" he asked and selene nodded 

"its what we do when things go sideways and life doesn't make sense" they spoke and then they realized what time it was and sighed. 

"alright well we have to go, im gonna change out of this and you should do the same and then ill drive you home, good?" they asked and he nodded as they seperated and went to change in different places, once they were done, selene got in the car with kenny and drove him home waiting as he got out of the car and walked into his house and they smiled as they drove off and drove to demetris house because thats where they decided to watch the movies.

  "glad to see that you could make it" hawk said to selene who smiled and nodded as they walked in and sat down with the othera and started to watch the movies together. demetri rested his head on selenes shoulder as they all watched together and hawk smiled at everyone softly 

"im glad that you guys made us do this" demetri said to them and miguel turned to selene as they fist-bumped and continued to watch top gun so they could watch top gun maverick. however in the middle of the second movie, selene was the only awake as they laughed at the sight of the boys and fell asleep with them. 

demetris mom walked in and smiled at the sight of the group as she took her phone out and took a picture to show it to them and then went off to bed. it was funny to think about the difference in groups because this is what they were doing but they had no idea what the girls were doing. 

the next morning, they woke up and all got dressed into the clothes that they brought to change into and then selene drove them to the dojo where they stood with the others and watched the video for the sekai taikai location. selene stood next to tory as they held her hand and they listened as they heard they were going to spain and then heard about the six fighters 

"wait six?" hawk asked and selene looked at the others and sighed as they ran a hand through their hair and turned to the others

"what exactly does that mean?" robby asked 

"it means we all don't get to go" miguel told them and they all made eye contact. 

this was going to destroy everything they were building
