Chapter Twenty-Nine
I've spent most of my life running

3rd person POV

they all stood next to each other as they practiced. selene stood between hawk and demetri as they watched the others and practice together . selene looked at anthony and sam as they talked to each other

"so you and sam back in the dojo? game on right?" hawk said and selene scoffed

"yeah, game on for karate. that's it" Miguel said and selene laughed

" Oh come on I see you staring at her" hawk exclaimed

" Of course he's gonna stare at her he's still in love with her dumb ass" selene said and demetri laughed under his breathe

" Wait but I thought you guys decide to keep things platonic?" demetri said

" Well she did. He didn't" hawk said and selene smiled as they continued to stretch ignoring what the others said

"something tells me it's about to be the fourth of july" demetri said and they looked up to see robby

" Can't believe that piece of shit on our team" Hawk said

" Relax hawk he just want what we want. We're gonna be fine" Selene spoke and chozen whistled for them as they all walked forward

"so where are my dad and johnny?" sam asked

"not here, today you will train with me. attention!" he said and they all put their arms to their sides

"bow. cobra kai gaining ground, we must prepare. come" he said and they looked at chozen

"now, we learn about yanbaru kuina" he stated and selene tilted their head in confusion.

" What is that? Like some top-secret karate move? Like a throw rip?" Chris said and selene sighed

" No. It is burned in English called Okinawa real. Endangered. Cannot fly." he said and he brought out eggs out from under the table

"so these are the rail eggs?" miguel said

"no. trader joe, 3.29. take egg" and they all grabbed one as they held it and selene watched the others

"yanbaru kuina must protect egg. from kume shima habu, poison snake. You must do same. Begin your preparation" he said and he flipped the timer

" What are we protecting them from?" robby asked

"from me" chozen said and he pulled out the stakes and looked at them

"oh shit! run!" selene said and they took off running away from chozen. selene held the egg close to them as they continued to run away from him as fast as they could

selene watched as robby and sam talked to each other

" Look at him trying to move in on her. If you want come I'll kick his ass." Hawk said and selene scoffed

"jesus that's all that's on your mind lately" selene said and hawk nodded

" No, you don't need to do that. Robby and I are cool. Besides, I'm pretty sure they're just, catching up" miguel said and chozen whistled for them as they looked over at him

" Looks like the hunger games have begun., Luckily I have executed the perfect plan., When I win, everyone will have egg on their face. Theyll be Shell shocked" demetri said and selene sighed

"jesus how many egg related jokes are you going to make? what's your plan metri for real?" selene asked

"i'm glad you asked. i have created a protective covering. I made it out of my college prep book for blunt force of impact, and I tied the whole thing together with an old school of dental floss and my left shoe lace. Yep. It's pretty durable" he said and he set it down before something was thrown and selene watched demetris egg yoke spill out

"and i'm gone" selene said and they ran off with their egg . selene hid as they waited for the others. they hid as they watched hawk lose and anthony hand over his egg

selene looked at sam and miguel before they scoffed

"i think we're the last three left" sam said and selene looked at them

"where's your egg?" sam asked them and selene smiled as they held it up and miguel smiled too

"in my pocket" he said and selene looked around the room.

"i'm going to let you two talk" selene said and they snuck out of the dojo as they went on the other side and waited. they heard chozen inside with sam and miguel

"you all lost" chozen said as miguel and sam walked out of the dojo

"not everyone" selene said and they walked out as they showed their egg and looked at everyone.

"how did you..." robby led off and selene sighed

"i've spent most of my life running robby. it was easy" selene said and they all looked to chozen who cracked an egg and started to make it

"you are not good yanbaru kuina besides this one right here" he said and he pointed at selene as they smiled gratefully

"snakes will take you down, one by one. i have tried to tell you what you must do but you do not listen. you must learn to adapt or soon, you will be extinct. take new eggs. try again" he said and then he looked at selene

"you must stay here and watch, do not help them no matter what" he said and selene watched as they looked at each other and listened to them talk to each other. selene watched with a smile as they began to work together

"selene you're helping" miguel said and selene smiled as they al stood in front of the eggs and started to protect them

"so we're sure we want to put all of our eggs in one basket? you're specifically not supposed to do that" demetri exclaimed 

"this is gonna work" hawk said and they heard a whistle

"oh no, oh no. oh god" mitch said and selene sighed

"jesus get it together" selene stated and they looked forward at they saw chozen running at them with a boe

"oh shit" miguel said and they started to fight against him. selene protected hawk and robby as they faught him

"grab the boe" hawk said and they went to grab it but selene watched chozen move and anthony looked at him as sam and miguel worked together to fight him. robby and hawk kicked him at the same time and then selene looked at demetri as they both nodded and swung their legs kicking his arms . they stood together in front of the eggs

"snake concede" chozen said

"dude, it worked" hawk said and they all hugged anything as they smiled

"this is what we have that cobra kai does not. their movement mile wide, but only inch deep. our moment inch wide but mile deep. now that you have worked together, i will teach you how to master your defense. yoshi! kiotsuke! hai!" he said and they all bowed to him as he bowed back to them and selene smiled at all of them

they watched as they started to follow what chozen was doing. selene stood next to hawk and they practiced with him. selene felt at peace in this moment

they were back and better then ever . selene was ready for whatever was going to happen. they were ready and prepared

they only hoped that they could handle it
