The Flight.

(Horrible AU where Percy isn't afraid of flying, but Annabeth is. They AREN'T demigods. Also, I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SWIM CLUBS OR COMPETITIONS SO [please I'm begging] DON'T JUDGE MY LAMENESS. Thank you.)

Annabeth clutched her backpack straps tightly. She was walking into the airport. Aka, her doom.

Annabeth had never flown  before, and she was afraid of flying. But she absolutely had to go because she had joined a swim club and had somehow gotten into nationals, which was in a state across the country so they obviously had to take a plane because.... That would be one terribly long bus ride of car sickness, horrible puns, and nicknames that her friends kept making up which Annabeth had no idea why, but she was fine with it.

Except when they called her Owl Eyes, that was terrible. She didn't even have that big of eyes. They just said it because she was wearing owl earrings and her mom had a pair of pet owls in their house.

Ugh.

Annabeth inhaled deeply the cold air as her and her friends along with the coach and about 6 more adults which supervised and kept the kids out of trouble or kept the opposite sex from being in a room alone together, they all walked to get their bags checked for the flight. Though they wouldn't have much time for the opposite sex to be alone together in a room though because they would be competing a lot.

Though Annabeth had a hard time keeping the thought of being caught kissing her crush down and not fantasizing about it all day long.

Her crush? Percy Jackson. Best swimmer on the team, he was the fastest, nicest, best at relays, happy, supportive, and hot. All the things a girl can admire.

"You guys seriously haven't flown before?" Lou Ellen asked and the rest of the team nodded. Yeah, 7 team members, 6 haven't flown 1 have. They were all around the ages of 16 and 17.

Lou chuckled, "You're all poor people." She said walking past.

"Oh yeah, thanks Lou, so kind." Rachel chuckled and rolled her eyes at her best friend who chuckled and pushed Rachel gently by her shoulder.

"Hey, just because we haven't flown doesn't mean we're poor." Percy crossed his arms and Rachel laughed Annabeth nodded in agreement.

"I'm not poor, actually my mother owns a very successful business." Annabeth stated proudly putting her nose up a bit hoping to as successful maybe even more successful than her mother.

"Yeah! And I-"

"Alright, that's enough." Mrs. Jackson one of the adult supervisors and Percy's mom said walking up to the talking group of teens.

"Time to board the plane ya'll." Grover said in a fake southern accent making Annabeth shake her head and roll her eyes at his silliness.

"Alright, come on." Sally said pushing them towards the tunnel to the plane. Annabeth was counting each nervous breath.

It was her turn to board the plane and she took a shaky breath, "Once I get on, there's no going back." she breathed and Percy chuckled.

"Doom on you, doom on you, doom on you." He started chanting and Annabeth sent a little warning glare before pushing his shoulder playfully as he boarded the plane before she slowly followed.

She walked inside and the stewardess greeted her with a nod and smile before she went in the rows to find a seat. The plane was packed,  and there wasn't much room in the plane anyways.

Annabeth drew in a breath as everyone found their seats, thankfully Rachel wasn't anywhere in sight. Annabeth couldn't stand that red haired pestilence.

Percy finally stopped and took his backpack off before sitting next to a black man in a suit and tie that was sleeping his brief case clutched tight in his hand.

Annabeth followed and sat next to him leaving them alone as his mother went to find her own seat somewhere letting the kids sit together since it was their first flight.

Annabeth looked over at Percy and he smiled at her showing his pearly white teeth and his cute dimples on his cheeks.

Annabeth wanted to sigh with glee and kiss the cuteness right off of his face.

Well, not off....... But she just wanted to kiss him..... Yeah...

Annabeth sent back a fake worried smile showing she was extremely fearful of flying, and leaving the ground where she was safe and sound.

Percy pat her arm before leaning down where his backpack was and getting his headphones while Annabeth got her own out of her pocket. Then the woman started to speak over the speakers.

"Hello, welcome to (Insert the cheapest airline you can think of here). If you've never flown with us before-" just irevelant bauble, so Annabeth didn't listen.

When the plain started moving Annabeth gripped the arm rests with faster than the Flash speed scarring Percy.

"Whoa, you're okay." He said looking at her as the plane drove around towards the runway to take off.

Annabeth wanted to believe him. Really, she did. But she felt anything but 'okay' right now.

The woman kept speaking until Annabeth heard, "Have a nice flight." Yeah, nice.

Suddenly she felt the engine under her feet and for a moment the plane just sat there.

Then it started moving forward, at a really fast pace picking up speed as it went.

Annabeth's mind fl;ashed back to when she told a man she greatly trusted that she was afraid of flying. he just smiled and  grabbed her hand.

"You don't have to be nervous Annabeth, but if you are just hold someones hand. It helps on your first flight."

Annabeth glanced over at Percy's hands that were just sitting on his lap as he tapped his foot to the music probably blaring through his ear buds though Annabeth couldn't tell because she had her own in, listening to her favorite romance music.

Annabethh looked at her own hand and took a deep breath before reaching over and grabbing his hand and holding it tight. She looked down at her lap partly to avoid his gaze, but also so she didn't see out the window.

Annabeth couldn't see him look at her in surprise his eyes widening then his face softening and turning a light pin like Annabeth's face had already done.

It was actually red, tomato red. Maybe even purple. She didn't know, she just felt extreme heat in her face for some reason.

Then she felt him squeeze her hand gently making her open her eyes and look forward just as they took off and Percy took out his headphones.

"Oh my it's happening." She started to get sweaty from holding his hand feeling nervous as ever.

"What's happening?" Percy asked curiously looking at her quizzically.

Annabeth was talking about holding his hand so she made up a quick excuse.

"Uh, we're taking off." She chuckled nervously and Percy nodded before looking out the window past the sleeping dude who was sitting in the window seat which Percy wanted to sit in.

After a while Annabeth let go and looked out the window regaining her courage when she saw the beauty of it all. The clouds, the sky, Percy. Wait hold on! The last one wasn't supposed to be there.

Not that he wasn't beautiful, Percy's gorgeous, but Annabeth was talking about the sky right now.

But she couldn't help but stare at his face while he couldn't see her in stalker mode, or thought she was just looking out the window also.

She loved his hair, black and soft to the touch. She only knew that because she touched it once which annoyed Percy so she stopped doing it. His emerald eyes, they were so gorgeous matching his smile and face. He was gorgeous. Whatever Sally had done was a miracle. A beautiful miracle.

Just then Percy turned Annabeth's way and Annabeth quickly looked out the window so her cover wasn't blown.

~~

"That was the best swimming I've ever seen Jackson!" Rachel exclaimed flirtatiously.

"Yeah, thanks Rach-" she kissed his cheek freezing him and making Annabeth boil with anger.

She pulled away and Percy chuckled nervously.

Great, just great. Percy had been paying Rachel all his attention the whole week and now she has to go and kiss his cheek. Annabeth was already having enough of a had time dealing with him giving Rachel attention instead of herself. But the kiss? This was the last straw.

Annabeth's lip trembled at how he didn't move away but kept talking after a moment as if it had never happened.

She felt her throat go dry, she felt that familiar lump that meant she was too weak to keep her emotions under control. She closed her mouth and tried to swallow the feeling but she couldn't.

Annabeth sniffled and grabbed her room key and towel because the race was over. She didn't need to stay and wait for the scores. She was going back to her room to let loose and cry a bit.

After she got back and cried over him talking to herself about how it was wrong to have such a claim on him like they were dating, but how could she not? He had flirted with her and she had flirted right back. They were practically a couple in her mind.

Well, up until this week with Rachel.

That was when Annabeth decided in her mind she didn't like him anymore. She decided that hew as treating her like the trash. So she was going to ignore him as much as possible without being rude.

She was done playing his stupid game.

~~

Annabeth was stomping to lunch, of course she forgot to shower last night. Of course she forgot. It was too late now anyways. She had to be at the swim team's meeting.

"Annabeth!" She heard Percy call and she rolled her eyes, she had done a pretty good job at ignoring him the past few days. Not trying to start conversations with him like usual. Avoiding his gaze unlike usually. Just physically walking away from him so  that she wouldn't be reeled in again in his trap of swooning over him day and night.

She hated herself for falling for that, his smooth charm he obviously used not only on her but other girls.

Annabeth ignored him. "Annabeth!" she heard him run up behind her before grabbing her shoulder and turning the 16 year old to face him to show her scowling face.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong." She jerked her shoulder from his hand and started to walk away again.

"Annanbeth, you and I both know that's not true. You've been avoiding me. Why?" He asked and she stopped in her tracks her face softening.

He noticed.

Annabeth's face then hardened again before she turned back to him.

"Why? Why?" She scoffed like it was obvious.

"Why do I choose to avoid you? You really wanna know why? Because you hurt me."

Percy looked so dumbfounded, like he didn't know how he had hurt her.

"Have I ever-? I don't remember touching you-?"

"Not Physically!" Annabeth exclaimed to the 17 year old as loud as she could since they were in a hotel hallway.

"You hurt my heart, Percy."

Percy backed up a bit.

"Look, I know I shouldn't be jealous. You're just a dumb boy that I should be over. But I'm not. And it hurts since I feel like you've been.. well... flirting with me then go off and ignore me." Annabeth wanted to hold all of that inside, but telling him what her lips did and she couldn't control.

"How-? How have I been ignoring you?"

"By giving so much attention to Rachel!" Annabeth felt stupid for saying it. She felt stupid for caring. She felt stupid for having feelings.

"I know, I'm stupid. You're not even interested. You hate me. I understand all of that." As Annabeth spoke Percy made his way over to her as she rambled on.

"Annabeth."

"-I hate that I like you-"

"Annabeth."

"-I'm so angry though that you lead me on! How dare yo- mmph."

Percy cut her off with a deep kiss holding her head in his hands as he kissed her.

Annabeth sighed and grabbed his wrists kissing him lightly before he pulled away and they both opened their eyes.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel left out." Percy smiled and Annabeth choked on a breath before smiling and kissing him again before forgiving him and heading to  the meeting together fashionably late.

~~

The team was in the airport together waiting for their plane that was at 6 PM and it was 4 PM so they were getting food before the flight. Annabeth and Percy went together with a chaperon and Rachel along with Adrien who were either in front or behind Percy and Annabeth and the chaperon.

They were just walking around the airport and Annabeth found herself behind Percy after they passed a shop of clothing called NO BOUNDARIES. She saw he had gum in a pouch of his pocket before she smirked.

She walked up behind him and reached her hand in right before he jerked almost blowing her cover if she hadn't of thought fast it would've been blown.

"Oops." She bumped into him slamming her stomach up against his back as she expertly pulled the package of gum out of his backpack.

"It's fine." Percy smiled at her and Annabeth walked past him sticking the gum in between her leggings and her hoodie which she had tied around her waist since she was hot.

"Annabeth stoel you gum." Adrien said plainly as he just took Percy's phone out of his backpack pocket. Percy didn't care about his phone with Adrien though, they were practically brothers.

"You stole my gum?" Percy sounded surprised as if Annabeth couldn't of pulled it off.

"No." Annabeth snickered at his priceless face giving herself away.

"I'm gonna get Chinese." Rachel walked to get Chinese with the chaperon leaving Percy and Annabeth alone in the middle of the airport.

"Give me my gum back." Percy insisted and Annabeth shook her head. "No." She teased.

"Where is it?" He started to feel her sides where pockets would be if she were wearing jeans.

"Stop!" Annabeth smiled pushing his hands away as Percy smiled with excitement.

"We could go in NO BOUNDARIES and I could find the gum." he wiggled his eyebrows and Annabeth gasped in surprise that he actually said that.

"No." Annabeth chuckled giving him the gum and Percy smirked putting it in his pocket this time so she couldn't steal it without being in a really awkward position. And she wasn't gonna do that soooo.

Then Rachel, Adrien, and Micheal the chaperon came back with their Chinese food. Well, Adrien and Rachel had food. Micheal didn't.

"Hey, Micheal. can we look in the Apple store." Percy gestured to the store with all the things you could ever need for your Apple, iPhone, iPod, iPad etc.

"Sure." Micheal smiled and they walked to the store and Rachel sighed.

"Tell them we went back to wait for the plane." Rachel said and Annabeth nodded before Rachel and Adrien left leaving Annabeth alone on the weird couch in the airport.

She sat on her knees and looked around until Percy came back, he didn't buy anything. But it was fun to look.

Percy walked up to Annabeth and Micheal sat down before looking on his phone.

"Looks like a nice food place." Percy pointed and Annabeth nodded at the restaurant in front of her eyes.

Then she felt his breath on her neck.

"Luscious, delicious, tempting.." He went on naming names as Annabeth felt herself mold her back to his chest.

Then she saw the sign that said all the things he was saying, but somehow Annabeth felt as if he were saying those things about her. Not the food.

She was luscious.

She was delicious.

She was tempting.

It was enough to make Annabeth want to marry him right then and there.

On impulse Annabeth grabbed Percy's hand and pulled him into the clothes shop.

NO BOUNDARIES.

She glanced back to see if anyone was looking once they were so far into the store before she pulled Percy into a dressing room.

"What are you doing?" Percy whispered to her glancing around the dressing room nervously.

"Getting rid of the boundaries."

Just as their lips brushed the door flew open and good old faithful Sally Jackson pulled them apart them both turning beat red.

Annabeth had no idea how she had found them. But Percy suspected a bug on him so his mom could listen to what he said and track him wherever he went.

They never found a bug on Percy.

And they never got to sit next to each other on the way home on the plane because Sally had separated them.

But booooooy did they hear it from their friends on the plane about what they had tried to do in the dressing room. And they couldn't escape it either. They were 35,000 feet it the air.

Oh whale.
