♢ - "Gosh." Gwen looks at the dark-haired boy in front of her with a dreamy expression on her face. "You're so handsome." She pauses, her face turning pink when she realizes something. "I just said that out loud, didn't I?" Shawn was looking at her with a wide grin and he was blushing. "Yeah. Say it again." -♢

GUINEVERE CALLOWAY knows all about not being perfect. Yes, she's pretty and has good grades, but her life is far from perfect. Her parents are usually not home and when they are they fight so she spends most of her time with her uncle Jonathon. Her family being dysfunctional is something she has in common with one of her best friends, Shawn Hunter. Gwen and Shawn has a special type of bond that has lasted longer than Shawn and Cory have been friends.

Gwen and Shawn met at the beginning of kindergarten. She saw him sitting by himself at lunch a few times which made her sad. She didn't like being alone and she thought maybe he didn't like being alone so she went over to him and sat next to him. Since then the two have been the best of friends.

If Gwen was the cherry, then Shawn would be the chocolate sundae. If she was the weekend, then he would follow her like Monday. If he was a sailor, then she would be the star that guides him. And if he's just the way he is, then she will always be beside him. To put it simply, they make each other better.

When falling for a best friend, no one knows what could happen-kind of like life. Anything could happen. She never expected herself to fall for Shawn. She only ever saw him as a best friend, and she was more than fine with that. The same went for Shawn. Gwen's feelings for him started to change when they were in sixth grade and had to watch that one video in Feeny's class. And her feelings for Shawn only grew the more she hung out him.

For Shawn, he thinks he always has loved her more than a best friend since the day he met her, even though he didn't even know what love was at that time. When he first met Gwen he did, however, know that he wanted her in his life forever. His feelings for Gwen got pushed to the back of his mind as he got older and started going out with other girls, making him wonder if he just had a silly crush on her when he was younger.

After getting into middle school he had promised himself he would never fall in love with Gwen. He doesn't want to ruin the great friendship they have and lose her because she means the world to him. But as time goes by, he's starting to realize how hard it is to keep that promise to himself.

Gwen faces some hardships with family when she gets into high school. She's thankful to have such great best friends like Cory, Shawn, and Topanga by her side to get through tough times. No matter what happens though, Gwen and Shawn know that they'll be fine because they can get through whatever. And even though they're not perfect, they're perfect together.
