I was sitting in the common room and reading 'Fantastic beasts and where to find them by Newt Scammander '. Suddenly the book was snatched from my hand

            "Hey!! I was reading that" I protested.

             Eva sat across me with my book in her hand.

           "Why did you call him a dog ?" Eva asked dejectedly.

            "Eva I don't have time for this" 

            ----------   "That was brilliant!!"

             Dani entered the common room and interrupted me" You put Black in his place. Who should we go and shout at next? Oh let's go shout at Lucius Malfoy. That git tried to hit on me"

             "Dani stop!!" I chuckled" We are not going to shout at anyone" I exclaimed we both looked at each other for a moment and burst out  laughing.

              "Dani do you find all this funny ?" Eva said shockingly.

               "No, I think our friend here just saved your ass from getting embarrassed. Did you thank her? " Dani questioned cheekily

                "Thank her?? Dani have you lost it?? She called him a dog no not a dog,  a bloody dog!!! I think we should go and apologize" Eva stated.

                   "Apologize, no one is going to apologize for anything" Dani protested.

                   " You know that Sirius and James will make Alexa's life a hell. They will prank her and she wil get embarrassed in front of the whole school. Then there's no point in apologizing" Eva got up and left the common room. 

                     I looked at Dani and she assured me that it was not that bad. I nodded and picked the book that was kept on the sofa across me and continued reading.

                               Next day morning Eva ignored me and Dani for breakfast and history. Apparently everyone in our year knew that I yelled at Sirius. The girls especially the gryffindor's cast dirty looks at me. Dani kindly returned it back.

Eva didn't sit with us for history. Dani and I sat together . Dani always concentrated during classes even though she wasn't your typical nerd. She was quirky and enthusiastic. I liked that about her.

After history we headed towards Defence against the dark art. Professor Jones was cool I liked his method of teaching. We haven't used any hexes or jinxes yet. We were still studying the wand movements and theories . It was quite complicated if one didn't pay attention. But in Jones's everybody payed attention. He tought with ease. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge to young witches and wizards like us.

When we reached the class today. The desk and chairs weren't there . Everyone were standing in a circle. Professor Jones was standing in the middle. Once everyone was inside the class he took a quick glance at all of us.

"Good morning children!!" he exclaimed. "Today I am going to teach you how to duel"

The moment he said that the whole class broke into whispers. Everyone looked excited on the other hand I hated the whole idea of duelling. I looked at Dani wearily she showed a thumbs up to me. Great she liked duelling to.

"Silence everyone!" he scolded. Everyone was quite instantly.

"Now some of you might already know the rough idea of duelling but today I am going to tell you the rules of duelling. What you are suppose to do and what you are not suppose to do and I want each of you to follow these rules. Have I made myself clear" he spoke sternly.

" Yes sir " the class replied in unision.

" Good " he answered.  

 " Now I am going to need a few volunteers who can help me.." instantly there were hands in the air. He scanned the entire room and set his eyes on someone. It was Lucius Malfoy and the dumb git  stepped forward immediately.

"Yes.... Mr Malfoy please step aside for Severus" he said mockingly.

Lucius looked furious but he stepped aside and Severus came forward. He walked in the centre of the room and faced Professor Jones.

"Very well take out your wand" he commanded and showed us how it was done. Severus immitated the movement. 

"Now bow" they bowed at each other. 

"Severus now we are going to turn and move three steps away from each other" he continued.

Instantly they turned like they had done this a hundred times. 

"One" Professor Jones yelled and both of them took one step forward.

"Two" Severus yelled and the pair took another step.

"Three" they yelled together and took another step.

"Turn" Professor Jones yelled and they both turned around instantly. In a fraction of a second Professor Jones disarmed Severus. His wand flew away from his hands and fell on the ground.

All the Slytherin's laughed a few Ravenclaws chuckled.

"Silence!" Professor yelled. "Severus pick up your wand" he continued and Severus followed his orders.

"Now we will begin again on the count of three... One, two three" and so the duelling battle between Professor Magnus Jones and Severus Snape began . 

They were both casting hexes and jinxes skillfully. So far Professor Jones was only blocking Severus's spells. Severus would throw spells at him and Professor would bock them effortlessly.Everyone was  enjoying the duelling battle. Suddenly the pair stopped to catch their breaths. They  both looked quite  exhausted. 

"Well done Mr. Snape. Ten points to Slytherin" he said . Severus nodded walked towards Lucius and stood next to him.

"There is a  trick my dear students that each of you must know. And the Trick  is to concentrate, focus and don't let the opponent know your next move. And one more important thing remember your wand movements. If you get the spell right but mess up the wand movement your spell might backfire. So each one of you should be carefull" he stated 

"Now, Bellatrix I want you to step forward" he said. Bellatrix proudly walked towards him.

Professor  Jones looked around  the class examining everyone and his sea green eyes met mine. 

Merlin's Beard I know what's coming next.

" Alexandra and Bellatrix will duel next" he announced.

"Oooh" the Slytherin's reacted.

I walked towards Professor Jones not paying any attention to the stupid Slytherin's. Professor moved aside and now I was facing Bellatrix. Her skin was pale and her eyes were black and they were void of any emotions.

Professor Jones  stood between us.

"Bow" he commanded. We followed 

He moved backwards and let us come closer. We removed our wands together.

"Turn" Professor yelled. I turned

"One " I took one step.

"Two" I took another.

"Three" I took the third step.

"Turn" I turned swiftly. 

"Stupefy!" she cried and I blocked it.

I sent a few spells towards her as well but she blocked them flawlessly. She was good at this. 

"Flipendo!!" she yelled and immediately I fell backwards and hit the ground . My wand flew out of my hands due to the impact.  My body was aching because of the sudden attack. I could hear Professor Jones yelling something and I could clearly hear Bellatrix laughing. My body was not ready to get up but I had to . I can not give her the satisfaction .

I moved my fingers  towards my wand and gripped it tightly. I quickly stood up  ignoring the pain that shot in my back I could see Bellatrix clearly she stood there with a smirk on her face.

"Petrificous Totalus!!!" I screamed. She froze instantly and fell backwards. Everyone in the class was awestruck. Professor Jones wore a proud look on his face as though he was getting the Order of the Merlin.  

 Their reactions were natural. Because nobody gets up after a spell like that. But I am not a nobody . I am Alexandra White. And nobody messes with me..
