"It's what you don't see that can take you out."

"Well Miss. Gesang?"

I was blank. What?

"Uh uhmm ummm can you uh repeat the- the question?" I questioned, rubbing my neck nervously. Something I did when I was well, nervous.

"I asked if you could handle the event management with President Yuna but clearly you are unstable at the moment" she snarled and I frowned at her. What's up with this woman?

"I am sorry Madam. It won't happen again" I replied, sitting up straight and giving her my best smile.

"Make sure it doesn't" she said sternly and I nodded my head.

"Yes madam. I would be able to handle the event management with President Yuna" I replied and she gave me a curt nod. Mood swings much? After a little briefing about where, what and when the event will be, she dismissed us. I stood up and smiled at Ace, who stood beside me.

"Thanks for making me late." I sassed and he laughed, his eyes squinting and his teeth flashing like bright lights.

"You are welcome, my lady." he winked, before looking over my shoulder and then taking his hand from mine.

"I will see you around Indah." he said before patting my hair and walking away. I stared at his retreating back. How can someone be so handsome?

"Ohoo. Ace!" I turned to see the monkeys I call my best mates grinning at me.

"No." I said and they smirked even wider. I shook my head and repeated the statement. They still did not wipe that stupid grin off their faces.

"Let's go." I whined but they stood there smirking at me. I knew they won't budge until I tell them everything but lets face it, it's not going to happen.

"Fine, I will tell you all-" before I could finish, my phone vibrated.

I fished it out of my pocket and checked the message. It was from the Dojo. The Dojo is the place where I go for my Taekwondo classes. The girls don't do it with me, unfortunately because they are into other things and they find this very violent. How Taekwondo is violent, I do not know. One of the people from university who does this, unfortunately, is Kirun Arthit, the human I despise with passion.

"Practice changed from 3pm to 1pm, be there."

I sighed and checked my watch. I have half an hour to get there. But why would they change the practice times? Why?!I turned to the girls and smiled.

"Guys, I have Taekwondo classes. Sorry. I will see you all later and explain later too." with a wave, I sprinted out towards the door. The large gym doors were luckily open and as I pushed past a mass of students, apologizing, I realized I did not have my practice bag with me. Groaning, I made a run to my dorm before picking up the duffle bag that I usually packed each morning to avoid time clashing, and then made a run towards my car.

My car was a Chevrolet Corvette C6 that was matte black in color. I got in and almost rushed to my Dojo to avoid getting scolded by the sensei. He can be very brutal at times.

By the time I reached, it was almost 12:53pm. I sighed in relief as I walked to the changing room. The changing rooms were past a hall, the girls on the right while the left for boys.

I stood in front of my locker and smiled at the memories pasted inside it. It's been 2 years I have been coming here. I was a black belt in Taekwondo, one I gained a few months ago so I am still a learner.

"Afternoon Indah" I heard a chorus of the few girls who were a year below me, say to me. I smiled over at them before taking off my tees and sweatpants. I was wearing a sports tank top and shorts inside. I changed into a white pants and robe before tying my black belt around the waist. I put my hair in a tight bun and smiled over to the girls.

"I am heading out." they smiled and nodded.

The place was bare, save for the blue mattresses on the ground and the few benches lining the walls. It was a small Dojo, a good reason why I came here. Less people, less chaos.

At sharp 1pm, the Sensei, Kim, entered the hall with his upright poise and posture. He was a man in his 40′s with graying hair and a few wrinkles on the face. His eyes were like that of a hawk and his voice was deep and clear. He spoke with pride and poise. He was a gold medalist during his time, of South Korea. So we know who we are dealing with here.

"Stand." we all stood in a line. My batch had 20 students, including a few from my university, like Kirun. Speaking of which, I did not see him around.

"We have the first years coming in today. As you know it's a new year, meaning we have new recruits. Now, I want four of you to combat, in pairs to show them the basics of Taekwondo." He said and everyone nodded. We all knew he would chose, it's no use dwelling over who's with who.

Just then the doors opened and entered, Kirun Arthit in his white Taekwondo outfit with a black belt. He got it before me. Stupid jerk.

Following him were little children, some around 7, 8 while others were around 10 to 12. They all wore white Taekwondo outfit like us but with no belts. First days are always hard.

"Welcome."

The children took a stand in front of us and we smiled at them.

"Meet your seniors, they will be helping you throughout these classes"

The children smiled at us and we smiled back. Well I smiled back. There was this little girl, no older than maybe 6? She looked six with her height and face. She had her hair up in two braids and I smiled at her. Reminded me of me once. She was chubby and cute.

"Alright year 1′s. Take a seat there, the seniors please guide them."
I took hold of that little girl's hand and she smiled at me.

"What's your name?" I asked her, peering at her from the top. She gave me a cute chubby smile.

"Asely." she replied and I nodded.

"Well Asely, I am Indah. You can call me P'Indah. I will be your partner for this time around, alright?" I asked her, taking a seat beside her on the blue mattress. She nodded giddily at me.

"Yes."

"Attention new recruits. You will have two demos from the seniors on the basic Taekwondo. Do pay attention."

The sensei looked around us until his eyes landed on me. With those sharp eyes, I knew I was in for trouble.

"Indah."

I stood up and walked to the main square behind him. I stood there with pride as a black belt with my hands at the back. Ah to be the center of fame.

"Kirun, combat with her."

I felt the life drain out of me. Everyone knew Kirun is very good at this. His kicks and punches are strong. He started later than me but earned his belt before me! He's been doing it way before me. Soon enough, he and I stood in front of each other.

"Let's do this." he whispered under his breath but I understood him alright. And I knew he was in for a good fight.

"Commence." We bowed to each other and took our stances. As we began, I heard the Sensei telling them the basics that we were throwing at each other.

The casual knockouts and blocks. I saw him smile and for a moment, I lost concentration of what was going on. And within moments, I felt an excruciating pain in my right arm. I clenched my arms with my other hand as I felt my body slowly go numb. I lay on the mattress, wincing in excruciating pain. It felt like I was being towed upon by some huge vehicle. And I could not feel my arm.

"Get up Indah!" The strict voice made me forget everything. Except maybe I was wrong.

As I tried to get up, I felt my head go lightweight. And then total darkness.

| Snippet. |

Kirun stood in-front of Indah with a smirk. He knew he was going to win. He cracked his knuckles and stood up straight. Time to show little Miss. Cactus what's it all about, he thought smugly.

"Begin!"

The two opponents bowed and began with the basic blows. He blocked her throws and when it was his turn, she blocked his advances with equal enthusiasm. That was until he did a high kick at her neck where she was supposed to block him but she didn't.

And it hit the side of her neck.

He watched her slowly fall to the ground before trying to get up, the flashing of hurt and pain in her eyes and the sudden shuttering of her eyelids and her blacking out.

"Indah!" He exclaimed before holding her up in his arms.

He did not mean it. It had just happened.
