Chapter 41
Jungkook
"I drew this when Eunhye asked me to go to that Modeling thing with her. It was a secret." I spoke out loud.
She wanted you to draw the Perfect Picture.
"But I drew her instead." I finish.
You love her.
I smile while looking at the drawing. "I really do."
Is this the Perfect Picture?
That question always gives me goosebumps.
I sigh, then shake my head. "Something's missing."
There is.
You can change it.
"What? I don't even know how to." I scoff.
You will.
"I don't even know what's missing."
You'll figure it out.
"What is it? You know?" I look around my room as if the voice was in here.
Nothing.
"Seriously.......now you shut up." I roll my eyes.
My eyes land on the canvas.
The broken me. The sad me. The depressed me.
The me I never ever want to be again.
"Aish." I ball up my fists and walk to the easel.
This painting has brought me nothing but sadness and annoyance. Terrible, terrible memories.
I don't care if it gives me a feeling. I hate this feeling.
Destroy it.
"Oh. Now you're back." I get distracted by the voice.
I'm only back for the destruction.
"I don't want to get a paper cut." I look at my fingers.
You wuss.
"Who you calling wuss!? Show yourself." I yell.
I feel dumb.
I look around and I notice a lighter on my desk. I quickly grab it and switch it on.
I don't care if this is stupid. Nothing is more stupid than my mistakes.
And keeping this painting.
I place the small fire under the paper and watch it grow....and grow. Until the whole canvas was flaming.
This felt good.
Satisfying?
"Oh yes." I laugh.
The flame grew and was filling my room with smelly smoke.
I was coughing, but enjoyed watching the paint melt.
"JUNGKOOK!!!!!" Grammy screams.
Oh poop.

"I know you're going through a tough time. But does burning down your room seem like a solution?" Grammy says while fanning her face.
Grammy rushed us out of the house so fast when she saw the smoke come from my room. I forgot what exactly happened.
"Yes. I had to." I answer plainly.
"What?"
"Long story."
"Well, dear, you burned down your room."
If I had a drink, I would've spitted it all out. "My room!?"
Meaning my supplies, my school stuff, my paintings!
"Well duh, you knucklehead! You set a fire!" Grammy exclaims.
"My whole entire room? Even my paint supplies! Everything?" I was on the verge to break down.
"Oh dear, I hope not." Grammy covers her mouth.
A firefighter approaches us.
"The fire was minor. Not big enough to devour a whole room." He informs. "Luckily for you, that fire only destroyed that easel you had."
"On thank the lord above." I sigh in relief.
"We've noticed you were a big fan of art, so we saved some supplies and paintings-"
"Oh, thank you! Where are they?" I hold my breath.
"We're bringing them out right now." The firefighter points behind him.
Another firefighter walks up to us with a huge bag which was obviously filled with my work.
I drop to my knees and search through the bag anxiously.
"These are just some things that seemed valuable so I took them out. Your room is looking normal once we took out the burnt easel." The firefighter says.
"Is everything ok?" Grammy asks.
I found animals, foods, nature, then I finally found Eunhye.
"Everything will be alright, ma'am. Everything is checked. Tonight you'll have to find another place to stay at since the fire and paint fumes won't be good for the lungs. After a fresh night of cool air, the house will be as good as new."
I hold the painting to my chest like it was a baby and let out a relieved gasp. "Oh my goodness."
Grammy gasps too. "Is that....?"
I look up at her and smile. "I'm close."
"Great, sweetie. I'm so proud! We'll have to get you a new easel! But now, we have to worry about tonight." Grammy helps me up.
"I think I know someone who can help us." I say with a slight smile.

"Jimin? Hey, I need a favor?"
