PROLOGUE
~•The beginning.
I couldn't feel worse. I tried to avoid it the best possible way but it was slowly becoming reality. After giving it several thought I still find myself here, where finally the quarrels, fights and tears would end.
Would it end well?
I was at the Edmunds house, the house of well known and recommended Lawyers that got married, had kids and decided to reside in Nigeria as it was their land.
Right outside their gate where I stood with Adam, an affable friend of mine. Thinking and trying to struggle out every negative thought that accompanied my sadness but all consolations were to no avail.
None.
I could blame both Adam and Esther for being less helpful to me these past few days. I get that I have lived with their arguments for more than five years now but I expect those arguments to be aside during times like this.
Times that already confirmed my parents divorce.
However, I still needed them. Mum and Dad are not good options to run to as they themselves are the Genesis of my problem. It's something that has been going on and on for as long as I can remember, and as I grew older it got worse.
And maybe it'll finally be over.
Both Best friends, and Parents are rivals at their own time. Yelling and throwing abusive words at each other over silly things.
I could never run away from my problems, life has thought me, several times, from my childhood, when I had a psychologist.
But his effort could only last for two years, the very next year they started again. Fighting, yelling all four of them. It's hard to see the people that supposed to raise you tear so far apart from each other.
They threw hurtful words towards each other.
And what could I say?
Nothing. I had no right to say anything because I was worthless. Unimportant, and forgotten. If I wasn't, then why don't they keep up? Bear each other's flaws just so I don't have a doctor that assumes I have a mental illness?
I know they couldn't. They couldn't take care of me. My visit to this place is confirmation of my life switch. Heck! I should have been expecting this 18 years ago.
I should have known they couldn't take care of me the moment they sent me to a psychologist other then fixing it themselves by ending their fights.
I knew all along, just didn't want to believe it. But here I am right? About to face whatever it was waiting for me at that Lawyers house.
