"We do not need that many packets of marshmallows."

Cara looks offended at my reason that I keep putting packets back on the shelves as she grabs them. Having offered to pick the s'mores ingredients up for Roman's mom as it's the least we can do since she is cooking tonight for eight people including herself, it's turning out to be harder than originally anticipated.

"You always need that many packets of marshmallows. I don't know about you, but I am not stopping after one s'more." Cara scoffs as she brings lots of packets into her arms and puts them in the cart. I roll my eyes before looking at Octavia, who is on her phone, standing behind the cart.

"Seriously? No help?" I ask her, and she looks up from her phone before shaking her head.

"Don't look at me. I don't want to be the one physically fighting with her to get the marshmallows off her." Octavia shakes her head and I sigh before waving Cara off and she cheers before carrying on to walk down the aisle of the supermarket.

"The guys are going to have their cheat day and eat a lot of them, and I don't want to be s'moreless because of those animals," Cara explains as she starts to throw in the rest of the things we need to make them.

"What are your girl's plans for this summer?" Octavia questions as we head to the check-out to pay.

"I'll be back in LA for the summer and I'm trying to convince Cara to join me, considering she doesn't want to be stuck in New York with her mom again," I explain and look over at Cara.

"A summer in LA? Yes, please. What's stopping you? Hell, I'd even go if I wasn't going to be between Isaiah and my family," Octavia jokes and I chuckle.

"I don't want to impose. I know I joke about joining your family and coming with you, but I don't want to impose like that," Cara admits, and I roll my eyes.

"My mom would happily drag your ass to LA if she could," I joke, and they laugh. "Seriously? Think about it. My parents have already said it's cool."

Placing the contents onto the checkout, the cashier adds everything up and we pack our things before paying and heading out. The guys have made their way up to Roman's mom's place earlier to help set up the outside area, and now the three of us are making our way up there to meet them.

Climbing into my car after putting the bag away, I pull out of the supermarket parking lot and get onto the road in the direction of Roman's mom's place.

Arriving at the house, I pull onto the curb, and we get out before grabbing the grocery bag and head up the driveway. Knocking on the door, Naomi answers and sighs with relief.

"Too much testosterone." She waves us inside and we walk inside before heading to the kitchen. "The girls are here."

"We brought everything needed for s'mores...and probably triple the amount thanks to Cara." I place it on the counter and Roman's mom thanks me before giving me a welcoming hug.

"Did you have to fight her?" Miles asks, as he wraps his arms around her.

"Almost," I say before walking over to kiss Roman. "How can we help?"

"Well, the boys have already sorted the outside out and the food is almost ready, so why don't you all head out there." She waves us off and we all make our way to the garden area.

"I'm so ready for your mom's food." Isaiah rubs his stomach happily and we all laugh before we sit down around the mini campfire that is made and surrounded by different types of chairs.

Before I can sit down next to Roman, he pulls me into his lap, keeping his arms wrapped around me, and I move around to make sure I'm facing everyone.

"I'm going to be so full, coach will complain that our asses are too slow at practice tomorrow," Miles comments and I chuckle before shivering as Roman places a kiss to my neck and I elbow him lightly in the stomach getting him to snicker.

"You're always slow," Cara jokes and Miles rolls his eyes.

"No arguments here," Roman adds, and Miles curses him out. Our attention turns to Naomi and Roman's mom coming out of the house with lots of different trays of food to place on the table near our campfire.

"All right, animals and ladies. Come and get it."

Hours later, our stomachs are all full, and the fire, along with blankets, are keeping us warm from the chilly night. Roman's arms remain wrapped around me as I lean back into his chest with the blanket around us both. All our friends are in their own conversations as we sit back and listen.

"Hey," Roman quietly says into my ear, and I turn my head up to look at him. "Come with me."

I raise my eyebrow. "Where to?"

Roman smirks before he gets me off his lap, and he stands up. "We'll be back soon. I just want to show Hollywood something."

Keeping the blanket around me, Roman throws his arm over my shoulders and brings me into his body as we walk further down his garden and to a little opening in the trees. "If this is where you kill me."

"Too many witnesses," Roman jokes, and I poke him in the stomach. We walk through the little entranceway, and he keeps me near him as we walk through. Soon enough, a mini outside ice rink comes into view.

"You have this at the back of your house? The one you took me to isn't this one." I cross my arms and he shrugs.

"I didn't like you back then. The last thing I needed was you to know where I used to live and break in to find embarrassing pictures of me," Roman explains and my jaw drops.

"I'll still share your embarrassing pictures around campus, except now you like me too much to hate me." I smile teasingly, leaning up to kiss him. "How did you do this?"

"The guys and I did it freshman year. We wanted somewhere to skate during the holidays, sometimes for a fun game rather than practice. Of course, when it gets warm it melts so we drain the water and have to redo it every winter." Roman explains as he walks onto the ice with his shoes. "You can't fall through this one."

"Asshole," I mutter before taking his hands and stepping on with my shoes, which is hard to not slip.

"But I'm your asshole." Roman smirks and I roll my eyes before pushing him lightly and he falters. "Hey!"

"So, why did you want to show me this?" I wrap my arms around his neck, and he rests his around my waist.

"Wanted to steal you away and let's not forget a lot of our big moments have been on ice," Roman chuckles and I nod my head knowing he is referring to him teaching me to skate and me falling through the ice that put a lot of things in perspective for us.

"And you want to reinforce the idea you're a figure skater," I tease, and he rolls his eyes before tickling me. "No, not on the ice!"

My cries go unheard and soon enough we're slipping and falling onto the ice. We land with an oomph, Roman on his back, with me falling on top of him.

"Ah crap, don't you dare say I told you so," Roman groans and I chuckle. "You okay?"

I nod. "Yeah, I had you to break my fall. You okay?"

"Just a bruised ego. What ice hockey player falls on the ice?" Roman questions and I laugh.

"Not a very good one," I admit as I lift my head up, and he smiles before placing some hair behind my ear and I lean down to kiss him.

"There really is a thin line between love and hate, huh?" Roman questions and I raise my eyebrow.

"Is that a confession, figure skater?" I smirk.

"Not just yet. But we're getting there," he says and I chuckle.

"You know I think that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me." I smile and he rolls his eyes before bringing me into a kiss, not caring that the ice is cold beneath him.

I think I'm getting there too.

「 Eeeek how cute!!! This was the final chapter, the next will be the epilogue! The temptation was originally there that after their date and he asked her to be his girlfriend the chapter after was going to be the epilogue but I figured I would add some cute moments before that.
