Epilogue
I smiled as I picked Lily up, holding her on my hip. She looked up at my cap, cooing in interest as she pulled it off. I chuckled and took it back, putting the graduation cap back onto my head.
"Mama," she said.
"Hi, Lily," I cooed. "Who's Lily?"
Lily gasped and pointed to herself.
"That's right, you're Lily," I said. "Who's Cherry?"
Lily looked around before she pointed to her sister, who was being held by Linda. We got into the car and Frank joined us, fixing his tie.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, just nervous," he said.
We drove to the big building and frank got his graduation gown on. Frank picked Lily up and sighed, giving her a kiss.
"Ready, beautiful?" He asked. "Daddy's gonna graduate today."
She waved her arms and I smiled. Cherry stood beside and I held her hand. She walked beside me, tottling happily as we walked inside. Her and Lily were both walking now, Cherry took her first steps before her sister. They were both wearing adorable matching pink dresses with pink bows in their brown hair.
"Alright, this is where we separate now," Linda said sadly. "I love you so much."
She was close to tears as she gave us both hugs. She picked up the twins and I gave both my daughters kisses. We went to where the graduates were meant to go and found staff just yelling and trying to get everyone in order.
"Alright, you've gotta go to the back of the line with the end of the alphabet," he said. "I love you."
I gave him a kiss and smiled as I walked to the back of the line. Time passed by for hours--literally--before we were able to go out onstage.
"Genevieve Way," the principal called.
I sighed and walked onstage to get my degree. Projected up on the wall was my school picture, which I thankfully didn't look too bad in. I took my degree and shook his hand before I went for a picture. I was then finally able to sit down in my seat near the back. Frank looked back at me, a huge grin on his face.
The principle seemed to drone on for hours before we were finally able to throw our caps in the air. I giggled happily, going off to find my friends and family.
"I love you," Frank said, giving me a kiss.
I giggled happily, picking up Cherry.
"Mama," she cooed.
"Hi, babygirl," I said.
She giggled, waving hello to me happily.
"Can you give me a kiss?" I asked.
She opened her mouth, pressing t against my cheek. I giggled, kissing her forehead.
"Let's go out for dinner before your party," Linda said.
"That sounds great, Linda," l agreed.
We went outside into the sun to take pictures. Frank wrapped an arm around my waist, holding me close as we smiled.
"Alright, girls, you go with mommy and daddy," Linda said.
The twins smiled and both hurried off to us as fast as they could on their wobbly legs. We picked them up and smiled as we took pictures. My heart felt like it might explode out of my chest, I never thought I could ever be so happy in my life. But here I was, graduated and with two beautiful twin girls who were almost a year old now and I was about to be married in just two months. Nothing was going out as I planned but it was so much better than I ever imagined. My life was completely perfect.
