Chapter 39
Frank and I have been broken up for a whole two months now.
Each day was harder than the last.
I missed him so much, I didn't want to lose him but Frank didn't seem to want me back. The only times we ever talked is when I dropped the girls off and even then it was only really to talk about when the girls last and was changed.
The only good thing about this was that my parents seemed to accept the twins a bit more. Or maybe they were just happy that I wasn't with frank anymore. They even let me turn one of the extra bedrooms into a nursery.
I smiled as I picked up Lily, showering her face in kisses. She laughed happily and I hugged her. I set her down next to her sister, who was sitting up all on her own. They both were now, they were growing up so fast.
"I love you," I said, giving them both kisses.
I smiled as I shook a rattle in front of them and the lt watched in awe.
"Can you say mama?" I asked. "Say mama!"
Frank and I are sort of having this competition to see if they'll say mama or dada first. It's not a very friendly competition either.
"I know you can do it," I said. "Mama! Mama!"
"Ah!" Cherry exclaimed, holding her arms up.
She fell over and I giggled, helping her sit up again.
"You're so cute," I mumbled.
They both had big grins on their faces as they laughed. I smiled, playing with them on the floor before we had to get ready to leave. Frank just got his cast off a bit ago and the girls were gonna go to his house for the day.
When we broke up he demanded that he also get to spend time with the girls. We've sort of gotten into this rhythm where he got the girls on saturdays and I got the girls the rest of the days because he's always at work. Usually Etta took care of the girls while I was at school but Linda sometimes took them instead.
I got the girls dressed and smiled. I carried them both out and buckled them into their car seats. The two of them just kept laughing and kicking happily. They loved car rides.
"You two are so cute," I said.
I drove off to Frank's house and sighed as I carried them up and knocked on the door. Frank opened the door and smiled when he saw the twins.
"There my beautiful babygirls," He cooed.
I looked down and saw his leg finally free of his cast and the first thing he decided to do with his newfound freedom was wear some jeans.
"I've missed you two so much," he said.
Frank shut the door and i sighed as I walked down to the driveway. I saw the garage open and Linda painting inside.
"Hi, Linda," I said.
"Oh, Gee, Sweetheart, it's so nice to see you again," she said, giving me a hug. "How are you doing? It feels so empty here with the three of you gone."
"We're fine, they've gotten used to my house and my family," I said.
"Oh, well that's nice," she said. "You want some coffee?"
"That's okay, I was just gonna head off to a friend's house," I said. "Maybe some other time we can go out to a little cafe and get some coffee and dessert."
"Sounds like a plan," she agreed before looking down sadly. "I still can't believe what happened, you and frank were so perfect for each other."
I shrugged and she sighed, giving me another hug.
"Well, at least the girls will still get to spend time with both their parents," she said.
"How's frank doing without the cast?" I asked.
"He was a little wobbly at first because he wasn't used to walking but he's feeling a lot better," she said. "And he's really missed his jeans."
"I bet," I mumbled. "Well, I should get going but maybe next Saturday we can have our coffee?"
"Perfect," she agreed.
I smiled and gave her one last hug before I drove to Jamia's house. I sighed unhappily, laying on her bed.
"You okay?" She asked.
She sat beside me, setting her phone down on the desk.
"No," I mumbled. "I miss Frank, I made a huge mistake. I shouldn't have said all that and just argued with him so stupidly. I just miss him but he doesn't miss me."
"On the bright side you're back at home and your parents have given you your car and credit card back," she said. "And you know how Frank can hold a grudge. He may be angry now but it'll pass eventually."
I nodded, sighing quietly.
"Ryan was trying to hook him up with someone," she said.
I sat up, looking at her with tear filled eyes.
"He's dating again?" I whimpered.
"No," she denied. "Frank told him that he doesn't want to date anyone else because he still loves you."
"He does?" I asked.
"Gee, you guys dated for years and have two kids together," she said. "Of course he still loves you."
"Is it love but he doesn't want to get back together and is starting to move on or does he want me back?" I asked.
"I don't know," she said. "You know that one chick in our calculus class? That one punk chick with the purple hair."
"Yeah, I know her," I said.
"She made a pass at Frank," she said.
My eyes watered as I looked at her.
"Did he reciprocate?" I asked.
"Well, I'm not too sure because I only heard it through Lindsey who heard it through Jenna who heard it through Ryan who heard it through Brendon who heard it from like three other chicks," Jamia said. "But apparently Frank had just finished up work and he was walking home and she was just alone drinking at the park. He went over to say hi because they're not friends but like they're class friends. And they ended up just sitting together at the top of the playground drinking beer. And they were just sort of talking a bit and the chick kissed him and apparently he kissed back and they were making out for a bit and got to third base before he stopped it and went home."
I sniffled and nodded, laying down.
"I guess that's okay, we are broken up, he can make out with whoever he wants," I said. "Still kind of hurts. Third base? Frank got a blowjob?"
"That's what I heard," she said.
"Is this why she was being so snarky with me the other day when I just asked to take a picture of her textbook?" I asked.
Jamia shrugged, running her fingers through my hair.
"I miss him," I mumbled.
"I know," she said. "And, you know, if you want then i can try and set you up with someone if you wanna try and move on. It can be actual dating or just a hookup or something."
"Well, I don't know," I said. "I guess if he's moving on then I should try too."
"So? Any ideas of any guy you might want to hook up with?" She asked.
"I don't know," I mumbled. "I just keep thinking about Frank and I miss him."
"Maybe I can get you a look alike, a long lost twin brother," she said.
I knew she was trying to make a joke to make me feel a little better but I just didn't find it as amusing.
"He got his cast off, didn't he?" Jamia asked.
"Yeah, he seems to be doing pretty good," I said. "Wait, he wouldn't have been able to get to the top of the playset with his cast on. So then he got a blowjob from her just within the past three days?"
"I'm sorry,' she mumbled.
I sniffled quietly, burying my face into the mattress.
"You know what, you should make Frank jealous," she said. "We are gonna get you super dressed up so that when you go to pick up the girls you tell him that you were on a date or something and he gets jealous."
"You sure?" I asked.
She nodded and opened her closet.
"We are gonna make you look so sexy," she said.
I smiled softly as she handed me some clothes.
"Oh, these shoes are so cute," I said. "Where did you get them from?"
"I think I bought them online, I can't really remember," she said.
I shrugged and got dressed. I put on the maroon bodysuit. It was lace and sheer and gorgeous.
"Can I borrow this again some other time?" I asked. "It's sexy."
I smiled and looked in the mirror. The lace fabric hugged my curves and hung low to show my cleavage, which was thankfully still pretty big. Before kids I had rather small breasts but now they were so much bigger and I loved it. The dark lace had thin, t-back straps and they bodysuit was cheeky, half my ass hanging out.
I put on the black leather skirt that had the little zippers on them. It was short and tight and hugged my waist. I put on the black strappy heels and smiled. We did my makeup perfectly and hung out before it was time for me to go pick up the girls.
"I'll call you later," I said.
Yeah, and you look amazing, Gee," she said. "If I were into girls then I would be all over you."
I giggled and gave her a hug. I drove to Frank's house and knocked on the door. As soon as he opened it he froze, looking me up and down.
"Ah!" Cherry cheered.
I smiled and walked in, picking her up.
"There's my beautiful little Cherry Berry," I cooed. "They've eaten?"
"They have," he said.
I went to the living room and smiled when I saw Lily sitting there playing.
"Hello, beautiful," I said.
"Why are you so dressed up?" Frank asked.
I sighed and put Cherry down next to Lily.
"I was just out with a guy," I said.
"A guy?" Frank asked.
I walked to the kitchen and grabbed the diaper bag, putting in the empty baby bottles.
"They ate alright?" I asked and he nodded. "That's good."
"Were you really out with a guy tonight, Genevieve?" He asked.
Genevieve
"I was," I lied.
"Have fun?" He asked.
I looked at him and saw nothing but a scowl on his face.
"Yeah," I replied.
I packed up the toys that stayed at my house, separating them from the ones that stayed at Frank's house.
"Alright, are my little pumpkins ready to go home and go to sleep?" I asked.
I grabbed Cherry and Frank took Lily.
"Let me help you," he said.
He took the bag and I smiled softly. This is the first time he's been showing me any sort of hospitality ever since we broke up.
"Thanks," I said.
He helped me get the girls into the car and my heart swelled happily. I got into the car and drove home, begging for this to be the start of something better.
