Chapter 34

Honestly I will never really understand why when I have a straight couple do something as simple as kiss ppl will always be like "ew that's fucking disgusting I'm actually gonna be sick I hate straight ppl I'm gonna throw up" but like if someone said that about a gay couple all hell would break loose?

"Oh, Babygirl, I missed you," Frank said, picking up Cherry. "Oh and you too my little Lily Bear."

He picked up his other daughter as he smiled. I giggled happily and kissed both their foreheads.

"Did you two use a condom?" Linda asked.

"Oh my god, mom," Frank complained.

"I'm serious, I'm not gonna be the grandmother to three kids at only thirty-two years old," he said.

"We didn't even have sex," he said.

"Good," she said. "And let me see that pretty ring."

"You knew he was gonna propose?" I asked.

"Of course I did," Linda said. "That's the ring his grandfather used to propose to his wife."

"Really? It's his grandma's ring?" I asked. "That's sweet."

"I told him he could get a new ring because of his dad's money but he was adamant on his grandmother's," she said.

"I love it," I said. "I don't want a big, expensive ring, I love this one."

"I'm glad you like it," Frank said, kissing my cheek.

I took Cherry from him, giving her a kiss.

"I love you, my little Cherry Berry," I cooed. "And I love you, my Lily Billy."

I gave Lily a kiss and smiled.

"It's about time for their nap," Frank said.

We carried the girls up to the bedroom and put them in their cribs. I smiled as I looked down at them.

"They're so cute," he said. "I missed them so much. I can't believe how much it hurts just being away from them for one night."

"I know, I missed them so much," I said.

"I love you," he said.

"I love you too, Baby," I said.

"And I can't believe that I'm engaged to you, I'm the luckiest guy in the whole world," he said.

I giggled, giving him a kiss.

"Such a sweet talker," I said.

"We've gotta take the girls to the doctors today," he said.

"I know," I mumbled sadly. "I hate seeing them cry and they're gonna need more shots."

"It's gonna be okay," he said.

I nodded, giving him a kiss.

"I think I'm gonna take a little nap too," I said.

"Sounds perfect," he agreed.

We cuddled up in bed together and I smiled. He ran his fingers through my hair and I smiled.

"I love you," I said.

"I love you too, Babydoll," he said.

I smiled and laid my head down on his chest.

"I'm so proud to be your fiancé," I said. "I posted a picture of my hand with my ring online and everyone is congratulating us. And Jamia and Lindsey is demanding that we all hang out and bring the babies too."

Frank chuckled. "Maybe after the appointment we can drop by Jamia's house."

I nodded and we fell asleep. The alarm woke us up and we got the kids packed up into the car. The doctor just did a quick check up on the girls before it came time to give them their vaccines.

"Oh no," I muttered, covering my eyes.

I peeked out and whimpered as I watched the girls be held down by Frank while the doctor gave the shots. They finished up and I sniffled as I got the girls dressed and hugged them tight.

"It's okay, Mommy's got you," I said.

"They're doing just fine," the doctor said. "They're reaching all their milestones and growing like they should, they're doing really well for being premature."

"So they're okay?" Frank asked.

"That's right, perfectly fine," she said. "And I can't wait to see these little cuties in just a few months."

I smiled, taking them outside. We buckled them in as they both kept screaming.

"I feel bad," I said. "I wish they were big enough so we could get them ice cream or something."

"Well, Maybe we can get them a new toy," Frank said as he pulled out of the parking lot.

"That sounds nice," I said. "It's better now that we have your dad's money so everything isn't so crunched all the time and we wouldn't be able to afford this stuff."

"Yeah, I hate that fucking guy but he's rich and I do like that," he said.

I giggled, holding his hand.

"I love you," I said.

Frank smiled and I heard a loud horn honk. It seemed like slow motion as a car collided with ours. Tires screeched and metal crunched. I screamed, holding on to anything I could reach. Frank's arm went over my chest to protect me just before the airbags went off.

"Fuck," Frank groaned.

"A-are You okay?" I asked when the car stopped skidding.

"Check on the girls," he said as put the car in park.

I nodded and got out, opening the backdoor. They screamed as I picked them up, holding them close. Someone came up and told me they called the police already.

"Frankie, come out," I said.

"I can't," he replied quietly.

I went around and opened his door. The metal was dented in, he was hit straight on.

"Baby, what's wrong?" I asked.

"I-I think I broke my leg," he whimpered.

"You can't move?" I asked.

"Well, I can But it hurts to move," he said.

"Well, at least you're not paralyzed then," I said quietly.

Frank nodded. "I'm okay, it's just a broken leg."

I sniffled, shaking my head.

"You're bleeding, Baby," he said, gently touching my cheek.

"I'm okay, I've just got a little cut, you've got a broken bone," I said.

"Well, this isn't the first time I've broken a bone," he said.

I sighed sadly, giving him a soft kiss.

"I'm gonna call me mom," he said.

I nodded, watching the other guy as he got out of the car. He looked just as shocked as we were and for a split second I wondered if Frank was at fault. But no, Frank had had the green light and he was the one that was allowed to go.

"I love you, Mom," I heard Frank say before he hung up.

Sirens rang louder, almost drowning out the sound of the twins' screaming. Police came over and looked at the damage. An ambulance pulled up and Frank winced as he was put onto a stretcher.

"You go take the girls home, my mom is coming to pick you up," he said.

I nodded my head as the ambulance drove off. I talked with the police before Linda showed up. She helped me put the car seats into her car and we drove home.

"The twins are okay?" She asked.

"Yeah, they were mostly just scared," I said.

"Oh man, the medical bills and the cost to fix the car up," she muttered. "And my poor baby, my poor baby who's gonna be in a cast."

"He's gonna be okay," I said.

She nodded sadly as she drove home.

"You okay, Sweetheart?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay," I said. "Just got some cuts and bruises."

The girls eventually calmed down as the drive lulled them to sleep. I sniffled quietly as I texted with Frank.

"They're gonna bring him in for surgery," I said.

"Dumb fuck was texting and driving," she muttered. "He completely went through a red light! He could've killed all four of you. And then I would be all alone."

"You'd have Frank's grandpa," I said.

She nodded, sighing quietly.

"Frank's probably gonna have to stay the night at the hospital," I said. "If he doesn't wanna be alone then you should go with him so I can stay home with the babies."

"Are you sure?" She asked. "You haven't stayed home alone with the girls all night before."

"I'll be okay," I said.

We got home and I put the girls into their cribs. I laid in bed, checking my phone a million times.

"I'm heading to the hospital," Linda said. "I'll call you when I know something."

I nodded and she kissed my cheek before she left. I sniffled, curling up in the bed. I waited for a call but my phone stayed silent. Cherry started crying and I got her up, changing her diaper but she still just kept crying.

"Do you miss your daddy?" I asked. "It's okay, Daddy is gonna be home soon."

My phone finally rang and I answered quickly.

"How is he?" I asked.

"He's okay," Linda said. "Just a broken leg, thankfully no other head injuries or anything. He had to go in for surgery where they cut open his fracture and placed metal devices into his hips to keep them in place so they can heal. They also had to put a rod into the center of the bone."

I couldn't help but wince at the thought.

"How's he doing?" I asked.

"He's still asleep from the anesthetic and it's late already so he probably won't wake up until the middle of the night," she said.

"Maybe tomorrow I can go and take the girls with me to visit him in the hospital," I said.

"I'm sure he would love that, nothing makes him feel better than seeing his little girls," she said. "My poor baby, he's grown up so much in just this past year and then some idiot just comes and hurts him."

I sniffled, wiping my eyes.

"I should go, it's getting late," she said. "The twins okay?"

"Yeah, they're still just upset and crying," I said. "I think it's because they're still hurting from the shots."

"Probably, they should be fine by tomorrow morning, that's what it would be like with Frank," she said before sighing quietly. "Try and get some sleep, okay?"

"Yeah, I'll try," I mumbled. "Bye."

"Bye, sweetheart," she said before hanging up.

My daughters cried for most of the night, they wouldn't stop when they were fed and changed, they just kept screaming. Eventually I fell asleep with them laying on my chest, both of them finally fast asleep.
