We walked into the hospital and Frank held my hand nervously. We had our babies in the moby wraps, strapped to both our chests. We went to the hospital room and I saw Linda laying in the bed. She was bruised and cut but looked relatively okay.

"Mom," Frank whimpered.

He gave her a hug and she smiled.

"He was arrested," she said.

"Are you okay?" Frank asked.

She nodded. "I got some broken ribs and a sprained wrist and just a lot of bruises and cuts."

He sniffled, kissing her cheek.

"H-he's really in jail?" I whimpered.

Linda nodded, crying quietly.

"I'm so sorry I let this happen to you, Gee," she whispered.

"It's not your fault," I said.

"C'mere, I wanna see my little granddaughters," she said.

We handed her our daughters and she smiled.

"Oh, my sweet little girls," she whispered. "I would do anything to keep them safe."

Frank sat down in the chair beside the bed, pulling me down onto his lap.

"Grandpa told me he'd be here as soon as he could," Frank said.

"It's okay," she said quietly.

"Do you need something?" Frank asked. "I can go get you something."

"It's okay, honey, I'm fine," Linda said. "You're so sweet."

Frank sniffled quietly, wrapping his arms around me.

"I love you, mom," Frank whispered.

"I love you too, sweetheart," she said.

Linda smiled down at her grandkids but she looked devastated, as much as she tried to cover it up. Frank held my hand, gently rubbing the back of it.

"You two okay?" Linda asked.

"Y-yeah, of course we are," Frank said.

"Good because you two are moving back in with me," she said. "God, I've missed you so much."

"Good, I can't wait," Frank said. "I've missed you, I've hardly seen you."

"You're so sweet," Linda mumbled. "I don't deserve you, you are the best son a mom could ever ask for."

Frank sniffled, wiping his eyes.

"I'm sorry, mom, I-I should've helped you, I should've kept you safe," Frank said quietly.

"That's not your job, sweetheart," she said. "It's my job to keep you safe and that's all that's important to me, that the four of you are safe and you have a nice little family with your own kids."

Frank nodded quietly, resting a hand on her shoulder.

"It's gonna be okay now," he said.

Linda nodded and handed us back our daughters. I sniffled and looked down at my beautiful little Lily as she smiled up at me. She was so sweet and she didn't deserve to be part of this awful, awful world. She should be happy and healthy and peaceful. Her and her sister shouldn't have to grow up in a world filled with just shitty people and so much violence. They should be happy and peaceful with our own little family.

"Oh, Linda," Frank's grandpa said when he walked in.

He came over and kissed her cheek, holding her hand.

"You okay, dear?" He asked.

She nodded, smiling sadly.

"He won't bother us anymore," she whispered. "And they can move back in with me again now that it's safe."

"Will he press charges against Frank?" I asked.

Linda sighed. "I don't know how this is going to work but, Frank, I promise that if I need to I will get you the best possible lawyer I can find."

"Gee, your parents are lawyers, aren't they?" Frank's grandpa asked.

"Yeah but they also just hate Frank," I said quietly. "They wouldn't care if Frank went to jail, unfortunately."

"It's okay," Frank said quietly. "It's my fault that I took a bat to his car, I shouldn't have done that and I can take the punishment for what I did, even if it means that I go to jail."

I whimpered, shaking my head.

"It's gonna be fine," he said. "I promise that I will be fine no matter what happens, it's my fault that I wrecked his car, I just got angry and I shouldn't have let my anger get the best of me like it did."

I cried quietly and he held me close. He wrapped an arm around my waist, his other arm holding Cherry.

"Baby, it's gonna be okay," he said. "We're gonna make it work, I know it, it's gonna be okay."

I nodded sadly, wiping my eyes. Frank held me close and I looked down sadly. We talked for a little bit until it was time for us to leave. We got the kids in the car and Frank drove us home. We were both quiet, too devastated to say anything.

"We're gonna be okay," he said quietly, reach over to hold my hand.

I shook my head, crying as I looked out the window. We were both still quiet as we got home and went inside. Frank was crying quietly as he took off his shirt.

"I-I'm gonna go take a shower," he said quietly.

I nodded and he left back to the bathroom. I fed the girls before putting them down for a nap. I curled up in the bed as I sobbed, burying my face into the pillow. The shower ran for a while and I knew Frank was only in there just to help him feel better. It wasn't for nearly forty-five minutes that the shower finally shut off. Frank came into the room twenty minutes later and curled up in bed with me.

"Baby, Baby, it's gonna be okay," he said.

"What if you go to jail?" I asked quietly.

"Then that's okay," he said. "We're gonna be okay. I could just serve some time in jail before I get to come back home to my beautiful girlfriend and my beautiful daughters. We are going to be together and we are going to be happy."

I sniffled, shaking my head.

"Y-you can't go," I sobbed. "We can't be alone, o-our daughters can't be raised without you, they need their daddy."

I cried quietly, wiping my eyes.

"Yeah but they're gonna have their mommy," he said quietly. "That's all they need, they just need you and they'll be okay. They just need their mama to take care of them, they don't need me."

I cried quietly and fell asleep in his arms, listening to his quiet humming.

When I woke up Frank was making noises on the other side of the room. I looked over and saw him packing some things into a bag. My eyes felt hot and puffy from crying as I sat up. Frank looked over, frowning softly.

"I'm sorry I woke you up, Baby," he said.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"I'm just starting to get things packed up to move back home," he said. "I want to be there when my mom is released from the hospital, she shouldn't be alone."

"When is she being released?" I asked.

"I don't know, tomorrow I think," he said. "They told me probably in the morning but I wanna be home and already moved in when she comes home. I don't want her alone."

"That's sweet," I said quietly.

I stood up and helped him pack things into bags.

"We're gonna be okay," he said quietly.

Frank kissed my cheek and I sniffled.

"We're gonna be okay," he repeated quietly.

I nodded slowly and he wrapped an arm around my waist.

"Gonna be okay," he mumbled sadly.

I nodded, resting my head on his shoulder.

"Alright, you want some food?" he asked. "I can get you some food if you want. You want some food?"

"No, I-I'm not very hungry," I mumbled.

"Okay, let me know when you are," he said.

"Baby, you don't have to keep taking care of me," I said quietly. "It's your mom that's in the hospital, I should be taking care of you."

"No, I don't need that," he said. "All that I care about is taking care of you, it helps to make me feel better."

I smiled softly and gave him a kiss.

"Let's get married," he whispered suddenly.

"We're seventeen, we can't get married," I said.

"You can if you're sixteen with a parent's permission in New Jersey," he said. "My mom would totally give me permission to marry you, she loves you. And you're emancipated so you don't need your parents' permission, we can get married and be happy together."

"A-are you sure?" I asked.

"I wanna be happy with you," he said. "And I love you so much and I wanna spend the rest of my life."

"You should take some time," I said softly. "Just think about it when you're not so broken and scared. You should stay calm and just think about this rationally. I want to marry you too, I really do. But you shouldn't make that decision while you're in this state. Just think it over because whether it's now or in twenty years it'll be so perfect."

Frank nodded and I gave him a soft kiss.

"I love you," I whispered.

"I love you too," he said, his voice wavering as he tried not to cry.

Frank smiled sadly and picked up my hand, gently kissing my ring.

"I wanna marry you," he said quietly. "I can't wait to marry you."

"Alright, let's get packed up," I said.

Frank sniffled, wiping his eyes. We packed up more of our things into the same boxes we had moved in with. The girls woke up and cooed as they looked at each other. The smiled at each other and I chuckled softly.

"They're adorable," Frank mumbled.

He wrapped his arms around me from behind, kissing the top of my head.

"I love you," he whispered.

"I love you too," I said. "I love you so much."

I smiled and gave him a kiss. He held me tight, resting his head on my shoulder. We just watched our daughters together, for the first time today actually feeling peaceful.
