chaeyoung walks me home that day. i was silent the whole way. she tried to get my mind off today's events, but it was all i kept thinking about.

we passed by a store filled with wedding gowns. chaeyoung stopped in her tracks, tugging on the sleeve of my jacket to get my attention.

"which one?" she asked.

i looked at the store in front of me. its showcases are large, displaying different mannequins with different styled wedding gowns on. some wedding gowns were an icy white, while others had a slight yellowish hue to them. all of the gowns had one thing in common - they were long and made for smaller sizes than my own.

"i like that one." she spoke after awhile, pointing at one of the icy white dresses. it was a strapless heart shaped dress with what looked like small diamond stones starting from the edges of the heart, forming a V shape down to the stomach. the dress skirt was puffy with a few more gems neatly placed around it, however it wasn't as eye-catching as the torso.

the dress was beautiful and i could already imagine chaeyoung in it. it fit her perfectly in my head. i could see her laughing as she walked down the aisle, holding a beautiful bouquet of pink roses.

"yeah, i like that one too. . ." i responded, staring at the dress and trying to imagine myself in it. yet my mind was blank. no image, no nothing. that's when the harsh reality slapped me across the face.

i could never fit in there.
