Y/n and Prince Jin didn't spoke for the rest of the journey. They were caught up in their thoughts to talk about anything. They got married only for a day but the problems started arising for them. If this is how it goes they won't have enough time to prepare for the backstabbing they will receive. She was aware that the path she chose will not be of flowers but she didn't expect something like this to happen so soon.

Clearly she underestimated Prince Marcel though. She thought he is not as cunning as Lady Oleta but she is wrong. It seems he is more cunning than the lady Oleta. She has to be on her toes when she enters the palace.

Y/n opened her eyes when she felt the carriage stop at the entrance. She tidied her dress and hair before glancing out of the window. She caught a sign of palace doors. Palace looked better than what she imagined. It is built massively with gold and marble structure surrounded by lush of green grass and big pine trees surrounding the palace walls. Main doors were carved in finest details with gold and heavy metals which are hard to penetrate. The details of carving are a clear sign that they have been made by the top talented designers.

The palace is spread across acres of land with full of soldiers. Every step they took they can see tens of soldiers lined up. She wondered if it is because they are returning or if it is a normal occurrence. In usual scenario only palace guards will be stationed but this seems different to her. She fiddled with her hand in nervous as she made her way through grand corridors of the palace, as each step echoed in the quiet hall. She stopped at the grand doors of the throne room and took a deep breath. As in sensing her uneasiness Prince Jin grabbed her hand and squeezed it. She looked up to meet his gaze and he offered her a small smile as in saying everything will go well.

The guards standing at the door bowed to us. "We welcome Prince Jin and Princess Y/n to our kingdom" she gave them small smile and they opened the door for them. Prince Jin made sure to hold her hand firmly to provide warmth in unknown palace. He knows that wasn't enough for what they will face but he tried his best to be by her side.

"Greetings your highness" they bowed to the king who sat on the throne on the highest chair in the room. Below him on first step sat the queen and crown prince Marcel who looked at them with disdain in their eyes. On his right a woman sat who must be Prince Jin mother. Princess Y/n glanced at Prince Jin for confirmation but he wasn't looking at her. "Welcome to our kingdom. I couldn't come and welcome you due to urgent matters" the king told them. "I do understand your highness. Wellness of our people comes before anything"

"I am glad you understand Princess" Princess Y/n glanced around the court to gauze others expressions. She can clearly see the malicious in the eyes of others. There were some people who seemed genuinely happy for them but she can't say for sure though. Because greatest actors are not in movies but in the court of the king as she has seen. "I think you both should rest. You must be tired after the journey and the ceremonies" the king said then informed the court about event. "I am holding a small ceremony in your welcome. I hope you both join and enjoy the event" they thanked the king for his kindness. They waited until everyone left to greet their family in person.

"Princess Y/n, this is my mother" Prince Jin introduced his birth mother to her. She bowed to his mother who gently grabbed her shoulders to stop her from bowing. "Don't do this Princess" her eyes sparkled with delight looking at her new daughter in law. "Please call me by my name mother. You are Prince Jin mother and I don't want to be formal with you" Prince Jin mother was surprised by her calm and soft demeanor. They both know she can't call her by name as she is lower in the rank. Princess Y/n is going to be the queen of their kingdom and you cannot call the ruler of the kingdom by their name unless you are their parent or blood related. "I am afraid I can't do that"

"Mother, you look pale. Are you eating well?" Prince Jin has been always worried about his mother as she isn't treated well in the palace. The queen always picked fights with her. "I am fine my son. I am happier as you have given me a great gift" she said referring to Princess Y/n who smiled in return at their bond. "You don't have to worry Prince Jin. She is perfectly fine as she doesn't do anything. She just has to eat and sit in her room whole day" her smile faded when she heard the queen voice. "Greetings your highness"

She nodded to Prince Jin who bowed to her and then looked at Princess Y/n who didn't greet her. "It is good to see you again" Princess Y/n smiled at the queen but she didn't react. "I guess you are lacking in basic etiquettes. I can understand it must be hard for you since your mother isn't around" she patted Y/n on shoulder. "I will make sure to teach you well" Y/n smiled and pushed the queen gently. "I am well aware of the etiquettes my queen. I thought you are aware of my position. I guess your memory is not as sharp as before as you are growing" the queen face faltered as she realized what she mean.

Technically Princess Y/n is going to be the queen which means she is the ruler of country while she is just a wife of the ruler here. Comparing she holds the bigger position in both of them. It is up to her whether she wishes to bow or not. Just now Princess Y/n made it clear that she rather bow to a consort than to her which is a slap to her. "Princess Y/n, you are crossing the line"

"Don't forget this is our country and she is the queen of this land" Crown Prince Marcel hissed at her which made her smile turns icy. "It's ok Marcel. She must be tired of the journey. Let her rest then we can chat all we want" queen and Marcel left from there leaving them alone. The king has left right after court dismissed as he is tired. "You should be careful with them. They are not nice people"

"I am aware mother. You don't have to worry about me" she patted Y/n check lovingly before deciding to leave. Prince Jin and Princess Y/n also left to their manor which was prepared for them.

Y/N:

I looked around the place that has been given to us. They assigned the room that is on the Far East side. It is farther from the place that the king and other high ranking royal family stays. Set back from the curb, beneath tower of pine trees. It has white plaster with a brown tile roof and Castilian wrought iron over the windows. I know this must be done by the queen and Crown prince Marcel.

"Princess" Jin walked over to me. "Do you have to be troublesome on our first day?" he passed me a smile and I smiled back at him understanding the meaning of his words. "You do know already. It is best to draw line before it gets ugly" I walked to the plain sofa in the room and took a seat. "She must be steaming in anger now" I chuckled at his words. "I would love to see it"

"I was planning on meeting Jimin but father has already prepared a banquet so we can meet him there" he came and stood in front of the sofa, few steps away from me. "Will Ina attend the event too?" Jin stared at me and shook his head. "I don't think she will be invited considering her family status" her father has been demoted and I think the king is inviting only high ranked officials and ministers. It wouldn't be much of use for me. Meeting Jimin is fine but if we converse for long in front of so many people others might get doubt about our intentions.

"We shouldn't meet Jimin or Ina in the banquet though" he seems to be in deep thought before looking back at me, "My father will be observing us in the banquet" we do think in same manner. "Though we can give him something just like he wants" my lips turned in to a mischievous smile as he said it. "I like the way you think"

"Do you?" he feigned confusion before smirking. "Indeed" roar of laughter left my lips as I looked at him. "Let me inform Jimin about it before" he grabbed a paper from the bookshelf and wrote his message to Jimin. "Do you think Jimin will be able to crack it?" the message has been sent in the secret code so that no one can understand it. We know Marcel and the queen will check his letters so we are being cautious. He smirked "He is good at this stuff. There is a reason why everyone wants him as their advisor" my smiled widened at his last sentence. I can't wait to meet this man. I have been hearing about him since I came back. "Can you arrange a meeting with Ina for me tomorrow?" I have to meet her and get the details about their family allegation to clear it. Jin did tell me about it but those details aren't enough. "I will take care of it"

"You should get some rest. I will ask the maids to wake you up when it is the time for banquet" he told me. I waited to make sure he left before getting up from the sofa. I clapped my hands and called for Amera. "Get me ready, I am going out" she nodded and changed my clothes in to black clothes. "Take care if anyone asks for me. I will be back before banquet time" she nodded and told me to be careful. I took my sword and covered my face before jumping the wall from backside. It came in handy that this place is near to outer wall.

I wandered around the streets making sure to hood my face. I searched the place but couldn't find what I am looking for when I felt someone grab my waist from behind. That person pulled me in to an alleyway and cornered me in to the wall. "Found you" they whispered in my ear making my eyes widen in surprise.
